Chapter Nine

"I hate this. It's uncomfortable." You groan, pulling the pencil skirt down as it kept riding up. "And these heels are hurting my feet."

Lauren chuckles as she guides you out of her office. "Welcome to the world of womanhood. Now, I have a meeting in twenty minutes."

"I don't have to come do I?" You ask skeptically.

"Yes. You do. Everywhere I go, you go."

Sighing, you attempt to follow Lauren out of the hotel but stop when you see a familiar blonde making her way to the front desk. "Ally?" You call.

The blonde whips her head around to meeting your eyes. You smile widely when you saw your friend standing at the reception desk.

"Ally!" You squeal, attempting to run to her but you fail by face planting into the floor.

"Oh my god! Are you okay!?" Ally yells as she runs to help you up.

"Fucking heels." You grunt, dusting yourself off.

Glancing to Lauren, you could see her trying to hold in her laughter.

"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm so happy to see you." You sigh, wrapping your arms around her small figure.

"I missed you and I can't believe you got us a holiday here. I haven't seen much of New Zealand but it's so green looking down from the plane." Ally rambles as she goes on and on about how beautiful your country was.

"Thank you." You chuckle, looking towards Shawn. "Hey, Canada. Come here big guy." You say, pulling him in for a bro hug.

"Y/n," Lauren mumbles. "we have to get going." She says impatiently.

Nodding, you look towards the giant and the troll before saying, "I have to go somewhere but when I get back, I want you to meet, Normani. You're gonna love her."

"Looking forward to it." Ally reassures before watching you walk towards the exit.

"Wait." You say, remembering that Camila was still in the hotel. "I'll be right back. Go wait for me in your car or whatever."

"Fine, don't be too long. Okay?" Lauren says seriously.

"Alright." You reply before taking your heels off.

You then run into the restaurant where Camila had been waitressing.

When you saw her wiping down a table, you come up behind her by snaking your arms around her waist. "How do you make wiping a table, look so hot?" You purr, pecking Camila's neck.

"I pretend you're about to fuck me on it." Camila replies, turning around to face you.

"Well then, you just got me all worked up before a meeting. Great." You say sarcastically.

Camila raises her eyebrows in surprise when she saw your attire. "You look so good. Oh my god." Camila comments, biting her lip.

"Thank you, but I just wanted to say a quick bye before I go."

"Where are you going?" Camila asks as she wraps her arms around your neck.

"Some meeting. I'll be back for lunch." Camila nods before placing a short and sweet kiss on your lips. "Bye, babe."

"Bye, baby. See you soon."

-

Pulling up to a tall building, you get out of Lauren's car and look to the top. "What's this meeting about?" You ask, following Lauren into the building.

"Just making sure my investments haven't fucked up my hotels." Lauren smiles, linking her arm with yours.

When the both of you enter the building, Lauren greets the receptionist with a smile. "Morning, Mark."

Glancing to the familiar man, you remember him from orientation day. "Isn't that the man from-"

"Yes. I like to keep trusted employees close. Whenever I need something, they do it."

Nodding in response, you and Lauren enter a board room. When you caught sight of everyone in the room, you couldn't help but feel confused.

At each chair, you could see a bunch of different people of different ethnicities. Korean, Japanese, Indian, African, French, Italian, Mexican, Greek, Persian, and German. It only made you wonder why they were all here.

Lauren breaks you out of your thoughts by pulling up a chair next to her. Mouthing a 'thank you', you take a seat at the head of the table.

"Thank you all for coming today," Lauren says, scooting closer to you. "now let's discuss weekly income."

Throughout the majority of the meeting, you could see the young Korean man staring at you with what seemed like a skeptical expression. His eyes were squinted and his fingers would fiddle with the velvet Gabor on his blazer. It looked like he was studying you.

"Thank you all for coming, let me show you out." Lauren says, guiding her clients to the door.

Just as you were about to follow her, you saw the Korean man approach you. "Hello." He says, holding his hand out. "My name is Jeon Jeong-guk. Are you Lauren's wife?" He introduces himself through his thick accent.

Frowning, you slowly take the man's hand before shaking it. "No. She's my ex-girlfriend. Why do you ask?"

Jeong-guk glances over his shoulder before leaning into your ear. "Watch out of that one." He whispers before pulling away.

When he did, you could see this look in his eyes. You didn't know what it was but you knew it wasn't good.

"Juncunt." Lauren nods as she passes him.

"Jalapeño." Junkook replies, giving Lauren a quick bow before walking out of the board room.

"Wow," You sigh, hooking your blazer over your shoulder. "quite a team you got there. That Juncookie guy was cute." You comment, locking his brown eyes in your mind.

"Yeah and a sneaky prick. I swear he's holding back on half my profits. I'll have to speak with him personally." Lauren says in her usual professional tone.

"I'm curious to know one thing," You say, leaning on the empty table.

"Which is?" Lauren replies, folding her arms over her chest as she gives you her full attention.

"how many hotels do you own and where?"

Lauren chuckles lowly as her head falls down before looking back up at you. "Too many to count and all over the world."

"Why?" You question curiously.

"Why not? I have the experience, the money and the opportunity so I use it to my advantage. That's business, baby- I mean Y/n." Lauren replies, looking away when she called you such an intimate pet name.

"Mhm, well," You sigh. "I have to get back to the hotel. I have a lunch date."

"We're not done. We have to meet up with a renovator first."

-

Two hours later, you finally make it back to the hotel. It was around 5pm which was around the time Camila finished.

As you were about to jog into the restaurant, you see Camila exiting the staff room with her casual clothes on.

"Mila, What are you doing?" You ask confused as to why she wasn't wearing her uniform.

"Going home? What does it look like?" Camila replies in an irritated tone as she brushes passed you.

"Well maybe you can wait for me so I can come with you?" You ask, taking your heels off before placing them on the reception desk.

"Sorry, I might not be here when you come back. I already wasted my lunch waiting for you. Ask Normani to drop you off. Right now I gotta go pick up my son."

Frowning, you watch as Camila struts out of the hotel.

"Damn, that was cold." Normani comments, earning a loud laugh from Dinah.

Both you and Normani look towards the Polynesian with knotted eyebrows. Dinah's smile slowly fades as she looks away in embarrassment.

"Anyways....Can you drop me off home please, Mani?"

-

"So, are you gonna tell me what's been going on between you and Camila?" Normani asks as the both of you make your way home in Normani's car.

"Nothing...Lauren's just been making me go with her to these things and I think she's deliberately keeping me away from, Camila."

"Well no shit." Normani chuckles. "If I saw the guy I loved with another girl then yeah I would do everything in my power to make sure they were apart."

"Guy?" You ask with a 'really' expression.

"Yes. Guy. What else would it be?" Normani shrugs.

"Oh I don't know. Maybe, Dinah?" You reply in a mischievous tone as you lean on the middle compartment of the car.

"Dinah? What makes you think I have any attraction towards Dinah? Bitch You is tripping. Dinah? No. I don't even talk to, Dinah." Normani rambles as she pulls up to the curb of your house.

Smirking, you stare at your best friend who glances towards it a few times. "What?" She mumbles.

"You said Dinah four times in one sentence. It just slips of the tongue doesn't it." You tease, opening the car door.

"Get out of my car before I push you out." Normani says as she rolls her eyes.

"I'm just saying. You go to church to talk about god not gays. Or bi's," You say, closing the door as you lean on the half open window. "Dinah is available and if y'all get to get together-" Normani flips you off as she winds up Her window. "she'll owe me!" You yell before watching Normani drive off.

"Damn."
