Chapter One

"Oh! Fuck!" Camila exclaims as her fingers start to move faster.

"Fuck! Go faster, Camila!" You groan, keeping intense eye contact.

"You go faster!" Camila argues as she feels the adrenaline taking over her body.

"Aghhhh!" You groan in defeat as both you and Camila lose the Mario cart race.

"Ha! Beat that!" Alejandro teases as he high fives your dad. "We winners you losers!"

"You little!" You growl before attacking the small child with tickles and kisses. "I won! Admit it!"

"Noooo!" The boy cries as he tries his hardest to push you off of him.

"I'm not stopping till you say it, Ale!" You giggle, tickling him even more intensely.

"Fine! Fine! You win! You win!" Alejandro squeals in defeat.

You smile victoriously as Camila's toddler gets chased throughout the house by your dad.

For the past few days, your dad arranged a court meeting which will determine what happens to you.

You had done some research about the whole situation and even though you are 18, your mother is your legal guardian.

It's a long process for her to be completely taken out of your life but you were willing to do anything.

For the time being, your father suggested you move to Australia and study hotel management over there. That way, you're away from your mother and still in school.

Studying to be a hotel manager wasn't your first career choice but after Lauren, it was the only thing that you had an interest in.

You knew that - as soon as you left for Sydney - you'd no longer have Camila and her son in your life. They'd have to move back to Cuba and soon enough, you'd lose contact.

Speaking of Camila, the two of you had created quite the scandal. Only a few knew what the both of you would do behind closes doors.

Although the two of you weren't official after leaving Cuba, it was clear that the both of you had chemistry.

Lately, you've noticed that Camila had been overwhelmingly clingy.

"Ale and your dad are gonna go out for ice cream," Camila says as she straddles your lap. "wanna have some fun while they're gone?" She smirks, leaning in to capture your lips.

You smile, attempting to steal a kiss. When you hear your dad call your name, you quickly push Camila off of you which sends her ass first to the floor.

You made a sorry face before helping her up. "Sorry, baby." You mumble. "What, Dad?" You ask, turning to the red head.

"You have a letter." He replies, passing the envelope to you.

Frowning, you take the letter from your dad's possession before examining the front and the back.

"I wonder who it could be from?" You say, noticing there wasn't any senders information on the back.

"Well It has a stamp. It has to be national." Camila replies as she looks over your shoulder. "Open it." She encourages.

Doing as told, you rip open the envelope before pulling out a a thin card.

Examining the card, it looks like it's for business of some sort. "The Rose Gold Hotel." You mumble, reading the card's details.

"Hotel?" Your dad speaks. "That's weird."

Arching your eyebrow, you look up towards your dad with a confused expression. You then took the letter out of the envelope before reading it out loud.

"You are one of the luck few who have been selected by your school to attend a 4 week Hotel Management course at The Rose Gold Hotel. Orientation starts on Monday 1st of January. If you are unable to attend this course, please contact your school." After reading the letter out loud, you look up at your dad with surprised eyes.

"Did you know about this?" You ask, passing your father the letter.

"No. I had no idea, but this seems pretty legit. Are you gonna do it?" Your dad asks, handing the letter back to you.

"Woah Woah Woah," Camila says cautiously. "You can't just do it."

"Why not?" You and your dad ask in unison.

Camila rolls her eyes as she picks her son up before resting him on her hip. "Because. We don't even know who sent this or if this is really legit. Don't you think it's pretty shady that some random letter turns up out of no where? I mean you only just decided to study Hotel management two days ago. What if this is a prank?"

"Ah you see, but what if it isn't?" You say in a mischievous tone.

"I still don't think you should go." Camila says, shaking her head.

"Well, it's my decision." You bite back, pulling out your phone as you attempt to call your best friend.

"And?" Camila debates as she takes your phone from you.

"Hey, Mila! Give that back." You whine, trying to take the phone from her.

"No. You're not doing it!" She exclaims, tossing your phone on the coffee table.

"I'm just pointing out that, it's either The Hotel or Australia." You say, holding your hands up in defence. "Just saying."

Camila rolls her eyes as she places her son down before making her way upstairs.

You then look to your dad with complete confusion. "What's up with her?" You ask, looking at the stairs.

"She's just upset that you're leaving is all. She'll get over it. Probably." Your dad replies as he moves his attention to Alejandro. "Should we leave the two ladies alone and go get us some ice cream aye?"

"Yeah!" Was all you hear before feeling your dad pat your back.

"Go talk to her." He says, leaving the house with Alejandro.

Sighing, you make your way upstairs and into Camila's and Alejandro's room.

"Camila." You mumble, knocking on the door.

When you receive no response, you slowly open the door to see the Cuban sniffing back her tears as she wipes her eyes. "Can you leave me alone for me a minute."

Pouting, you approach the upset woman before crouching down in front of her. "Hey," You whisper, holding her hands away from her face. "I know you're upset that I'm leaving in a few days."

"Took you long enough to realise." She mumbles, tracing her thumbs over the back of your hands.

"Is this why you've been so clingy lately?" You ask in a soft tone.

Camila nods as she brings your left hand up to her lips before placing a gentle kiss on the back of it. She then uses your hand to caress her cheek.

"I don't want you to go." She sighs in content as her eyes close at the feeling of your skin against hers.

"You know I have to." You say, sitting on the bed next to her. "I can't stay in high school forever."

"I know but....I don't want you to leave me. Why can't we just pack up our things and go somewhere?" Camila whispers, staring into your eyes with hope in them.

"And where would we go? You can't do that to, Alejandro. You guys are immigrants as long as you're in this country. You'll have to apply for a visa and go though a whole legal process. It'll take weeks for you to get Alejandro into a school here."

Camila let's out a deep sigh as she pulls you on top of her. She then wraps her arms around your waist as she closes her eyes.

"I just.....I don't want you to go. I want you to stay.....With me."

Closing your eyes, you sigh sadly. You didn't know Camila felt this way. You had only just left Cuba a week ago and after everything, you assumed she'd be okay with you leaving.

But things are different. You wanted to move to Australia for a fresh start and study but you also wanted to stay here with Camila, Alejandro and your father.

"Wait until the hearing for my custody is over, tomorrow. Then we'll see what happens from there, Okay?"

"Okay."
