Chapter Eight

"Oh my god! I can't believe you got me a job at the best hotel in New Zealand!" Normani squeals as she hits your arm repeatedly.

"Mani, calm down. You start tomorrow." You say, sipping your iced tea.

"Thank you, honestly. This is better than university. I still can't believe you got me a job there. How did you by the way?" Your best friend asks as she looks at you curiously.

"Well....about that-"

Praying to the gods - right on time - your phone stared going off. You could tell by the ringtone that it was Camila.

"Yes, Mila?" You say into the phone as you watch Normani devour her pizza.

"When will you be home? I have a surprise for you." Camila replies, trying to contain her excitement.

"I'm almost finished here with Normani. When she's done we'll be home. Why? What's the surprise?" You ask, interested to know what Camila was hiding.

"You'll find out when you get home. I'll see you soon, I love you." Camila says, staying on the line to see if there was a chance you'd say it back.

"Oh shoot, Normani just spilt her drink on me. I gotta go. I'll see you when I get home bye." Ending the call, you let out a sigh of relief.

"What's with the lie, yo?" Normani asks as she eyes you suspiciously.

"Camila said she loved me and I couldn't say it back so I made an excuse. Am I a bad person?" You whine, sinking in your chair.

"Yes." Normani replies, picking at her pizza.

Looking up at her with surprised eyes, you could help but feel a little bit offended.

"I'm kidding. Don't give me that look." Normani chuckles before tossing her crust on her plate. "You're young, you don't know what you want yet. Don't let it haunt you. It'll come naturally if you don't take any mind to it."

-

After your late lunch with Normani, you finally make it back home.

Since Camila mentioned there would be a surprise for you when you got back, you couldn't stop thinking about it.

You thought that it may have been sex but that would been sex but it was too early in the day do that. You just had to wait and see.

"I'm home putas!" You call, kicking your shoes off at the door.

"Y/n!" You hear a familiar Boy squeal.

Chuckling, you hear the putter patter of his feet against the shiny wood floors. Seconds later, he was in your arms.

"Hey, buddy. How was your day today?" You ask, walking into the living room with Alejandro clung to you like a Koala.

"It is amazing! Mommy taked me to-"

"Ale." Camila says in a warning tone.

"Right. I know mami. You wanted to tell her." Alejandro says in Spanish. You tilt your head, not quite knowing what he said.

"Good. Your snacks are in the kitchen. Go get them." Camila says as you carefully place her little boy down.

"So," You sigh, taking a seat on the couch. "what's this surprise?"

Camila smiles at you as she takes her hand into yours. "Well, later today....your dad and I took Alejandro into a preschool and they accepted our application." You smile, pulling Camila into your lap.

"That's great!" You chuckle excitedly.

"Yeah," Camila replies. "It means that we can stay longer. I also applied for a visa but other than that....we get to stay here, with you."

"That's honestly amazing, Camila. I'm happy for you- for us. But-" You say, resting your arms around Camila's waist.

"It also means - when you go over to Australia - we'll still be here when you get back."

When those words leave Camila's mouth, your smile slowly fades. After what you had agreed to today, you knew you weren't going to Australia. You weren't even going to university. You wouldn't have to.

Lauren promised to give you full experience as a Hotel Manager. You'll observe her in meetings, go with her overseas if needed and attend business partnering dinners. She even offered you the Hotel when the four weeks were up. All these terms were agreed by Lauren on your conditions.

"Mila," You say seriously. "you don't have to wait to for a visa to apply for a job."

Camila frowns as she slightly tilts her head to the side. "What? Why not?"

"Because I got you a job at The Rose Gold Hotel." Camila's eyes widen as she wraps her arms around you neck.

"You did!?" She exclaims excitedly.

You chuckle, nodding in response. "You and Normani start tomorrow."

Camila smiles at you before looking into your eyes. She didn't move, she just sat there staring at you. "What? Is there something on my face?"

"No. I just....I really love you." Camila confesses before leaning in to capture your lips.

Just as they were about to meet, you could hear your father calling your name followed by footsteps.

Next thing you knew, you ass was on the floor. "Ow." You mumble, standing up right.

"Sorry, baby." Camila mocks before looking towards KJ.

"Have you seen my baby blue button up?" He asks, popping his head into the living room from around the corner.

"Yeah it's in your wardrobe. Why?" You ask confused.

Your dad only wore that shirt when he was attending something important.

"I'm going out tonight. Meeting." He replies before scurrying upstairs.

Shrugging, you look towards Camila before slapping her ass, making it jiggle. "Hey!" Camila squeals, moving away from you.

"That was for pushing me off the couch."

-

The next day you and Camila made it to the hotel together. You had no clue what Lauren was going to make you do today. You just hoped it didn't involve another outfit.

"You ready for your first day?" You ask, interlacing your fingers with Camila's as the both of you make your way into the hotel.

"I'm a little nervous. Knowing Lauren, she'll give me a stupid job like mopping the ceiling."

Snorting, you wrap your arm around Camila's shoulders and peck her forehead. "You'll be fine."

Making your way to the reception desk you meet up with Dinah who looked incredibly nervous. "Dinah." You greet. "You look nervous. I wonder why?" You tease, knowing exactly why.

"Shut up. Why didn't you warn me that Normani was coming in today. I would have done my make up." Dinah whines, trying to apply lip gloss to her big lips.

"Oh. Normani's coming in today." You say, earning an eye roll from the Polynesian. "Also, I made sure she was working alongside you. Your welcome for when I need a favour." You smirk.

"Oh my god." Dinah squeals, fixing her hair.

"Is she always like this?" Camila asks as she looks up at you.

"No but Normani possesses her. We all know who the dominant one would be." You joke, glancing to Dinah who had been praying in silence.

Shaking your head, you stand in front of Camila before resting your hands on her cheeks. "I'll meet up with you in the restaurant for lunch, okay?"

"Okay." Camila replies, wrapping her hands around your wrists before leaning into capture your lips.

Too bad your contact with her was missed when you hear someone clearing their throat.

Looking to your side you see Lauren holding a uniform and a form. "Camila." She says bluntly.

"Lauren." Camila replies, wrapping her arms around you protectively.

"Your uniform and application form. PDA is prohibited in this hotel for all employees." Lauren informs in a strict tone.

It made you cringe at how much she sounded like a boarding school teacher. Too serious.

"Right." She mumbles, pulling away from you. "I'll see you at lunch." Camila says before looking towards Lauren.

She then pulls you down by the back of your neck before kissing you sensually. Your eyes widen when you feel Camila's tongue brush against yours.

Camila knew exactly what she was doing and Lauren didn't like it one bit.

"Bye, baby." Was all Camila said before walking off.

Licking your lips to savour the taste, you look up at Lauren who had her fists clenched. When you saw how furious she was, your smile fades.

"Sorry. She doesn't like to be told what to do." You inform.

"Yeah. I know." Lauren huffs before taking in a deep breath.

"So, do I get my actual uniform this time?" You ask, following Lauren into her office.

"No, you'll be wearing something different. If you want to fit the part as my assistant, you need to look formal."

Frowning, you enter Lauren's office to see a suit laid out on her desk. "You're not gonna make me wear that are you?" You ask, pointing to the pencil skirt and blazer.

"I met your terms and conditions. It's your turn to meet mine."
