Chapter 7

“don't worry, it won't be that bad…. I'm sure he'll still take it easy on you now since you are still…. You know, weak.” The maid said.“Alright then, I'm counting on your words.” Aurora said, hurling to the training room. “Wait… How does she know her was to the training room? It's her first time here.” The maid said to herself, as she watched Aurora scurry through the passage.“I… have…arrived.” Aurora said to Elijah, trying to catch her breath.“Hmmm… As expected. I told you there was something special about you… Let's begin!” Elijah said, and lunched an attack at Aurora.Bam!Aurora found herself on the ground in split seconds. Furthermore, she couldn't recall what happened, and she was heavily stunned. As she struggled to stand up, she recalled seeing a hand in front of her before she fell to the ground. “Was that Elijah? How could he have moved so fast, I could barely see him move? Furthermore, I can tell he is holding back, so what would have happened if he hadn't? Fuck!” Aurora said to herself.Aurora stood before Elijah, her chest heaving with exhaustion. She had never been in a real fight before, and her lack of skill was evident.Elijah smiled, his eyes gleaming with amusement. “Don't worry, I'll go easy on you,” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.Aurora nodded, determination in her eyes. “I'm ready,” she said, her voice shaking slightly.Elijah chuckled. “We'll see about that,” he said, and lunged at her.Aurora tried to defend herself, but her movements were clumsy and slow. Elijah easily dodged her attacks, his smile growing wider.“You're not even a challenge,” he said, his voice teasing. “How did you survive this long without getting killed?”Aurora's face reddened with embarrassment. “Shut up and fight me!” she snapped, her fists flying wildly.Elijah laughed, his eyes sparkling with mirth. “Oh, this is too easy,” he said, and pinned her to the ground.Aurora struggled, but Elijah's grip was too strong. She lay there, panting and helpless, as Elijah leaned over her.“You're pathetic,” he said, his voice dripping with disdain. “You're no match for me, or anyone else for that matter.”Aurora's eyes flashed with anger, but she knew he was right. She was weak, and she knew it.Elijah stood up, pulling her with him. “Let's try something else,” he said, his voice a little kinder. “Maybe you'll be better at defense.”But Aurora was no better at defense than she was at offense. Elijah easily broke through her guard, his attacks swift and precise. As the training session went on, Aurora grew more and more frustrated. She was so weak, so helpless. She hated it.Elijah, on the other hand, seemed to be enjoying himself. He was smiling, his eyes gleaming with amusement. Finally, after what seemed like hours, Elijah called a halt to the training session. Aurora collapsed to the ground, exhausted and defeated.“Well, that was a disaster,” Elijah said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “But don't worry, I'll keep training you. Maybe someday you'll be worthy of being my opponent.”Aurora glared at him, her eyes flashing with anger. But she knew he was right. She was weak, and she needed his help.As they left the training room, Aurora felt a sense of determination wash over her. She would get stronger, she would improve. And someday, she would be able to beat Elijah. But for now, she was just a weak, helpless girl, at the mercy of a powerful and ruthless warrior.“Thanks for today.” Aurora muttered. “You've just shown me how hopeless it is for me to get strong.” “You see… You have immense strength within you, but you just can't grasp it.” Elijah said. “Stop the encouragement… You are just trying to make me feel better, but it's not working.” Aurora said.“Hehe… You still don't get it. You came all the way to the training ground without the directions of a servant…. That wasn't a lucky guess because the average person can't find their way around this house easily. You followed my scent didn't you, and the sound of my voice also helped you too. You may not notice it, but your inner wolf is only activated when you are scared… I guess.” Elijah said. “That's totally not it… I was scared down to the bones throughout the training session, yet I couldn't as much as touch you. If my inner wolf gets activated when I'm scared, then I should have at least used an ability.” Aurora said.“Well, I'm not quite sure how it works, but one thing is sure… You aren't hopelessly weak.” Elijah said. “Forget it Elijah, you said it yourself, I was terrible, and I wasn't even a worthy opponent. I'm better off dead…"“Enough of this madness! You are not useless…. Don't you know that the key to unlocking your abilities, it's to first unlock your esteem… You can't do anything if you don't believe you can.” Elijah said. “Believe? Pfft, could you be any lamer at motivational speeches? We are talking about physical strength, and my powers…. How does esteem help me master that.” Aurora said. “For your information, I came here with high expectations, high hopes, high EXPECTATIONS, and yet, how did that turn out…. I'm better off as a slave where I belong.” “You are really a difficult person to get to…. Why on earth would a person be this emotionally downcast? Whoever did this to you deserves worse than death.” Elijah said, his voice laced with anger.“What do you mean by that?”“The problem is that you also fail to see what has been done to you.” Elijah said. “What had been done to me?” Aurora asked.“Your confidence, your self-esteem, your pride, who you really are has been taken away from you.” Elijah said. “I'm guessing you had a tough time from whence you came.”“That's is correct, I had a really tough time… An orphan slave, who happens to be the weakest of the weakest.” Aurora said, tears gathering in her eyes.“Tell me about it.”
