Chapter 5

Aurora woke up on a large bed, surrounded by luxurious curtains and a canopy. She looked around, confused, trying to remember how she got there. The room was fit for royalty, with golden furniture and expensive-looking tapestries. She sat up, and as she did, she realized that her injuries were all healed, and her fatigue was gone.A maid walked in, carrying a tray with breakfast. “Good morning, milady, I see you're finally awake,” she said, curtsying. “I hope you're feeling better today.”Aurora was taken aback.

“Where am I?” she asked, her voice shaking. “Is this…the afterlife?”The maid laughed. “Oh no, milady. You're very much alive. You were brought here by His Highness, Elijah.”Aurora's eyes widened. “Elijah? Who's that?”Before the maid could answer, a male figure walked in. He was tall, with piercing brown eyes and jet-black hair. He wore a white shirt and black pants, and he looked as if he had just come from a hunt.“Good morning,” he said, bowing.

“I'm Elijah. Welcome to my home.”Aurora was stunned. “Your home? How did I get here? What happened to me?”Elijah smiled. “You were hurt, and I found you in the forest. I brought you here to heal. You've been asleep for a few days.”Aurora's mind raced. “A few days? But…how did I get here? And who are you?”Elijah sat down next to her. “I'm a hunter, Aurora. I was out on my midnight hunt when I found you. You were badly injured, and I knew I had to help you.”Aurora shook her head. “I don't understand. Why would you help me?”Elijah's eyes sparkled. “Because, you're special. And I think you're in grave danger.”Aurora's heart raced.

“Well not anymore…. My pursuers probably think I'm dead.”“Is that so… Then I guess we would have to keep it that way.” Elijah said.Aurora's mind was racing. She didn't know what to make of Elijah's words, but she knew one thing — she was grateful to be alive. And she was determined to find out who had tried to kill her, and why.“Who are you, Elijah?” she asked, her voice firm. “And why do you care about me?”Elijah smiled. “I am only but the best hunter in this pack, and also the strongest Omega werewolf in the world.

And I care about you because…well, because I think you're worth caring about.”Aurora blushed, feeling a flutter in her chest. She didn't know what to make of Elijah's words, but she knew one thing — she was intrigued. The maid, who had been standing quietly in the corner, spoke up. “Milady, His Highness has ordered me to take care of you.

You're to rest and recover, and then…well, then we'll see what happens next.”Aurora nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She was grateful to be alive, and she was determined to find out who had tried to kill her. And with Elijah's help, she knew she could do it.As she ate her breakfast, Aurora couldn't help but steal glances at Elijah. He was handsome, and kind, and she couldn't help but feel drawn to him.

But she knew she had to be careful — she didn't know him, and she didn't know what he wanted from her.“Oh… Where are my manners? What's your name dear?” Elijah asked politely.“I'm Aurora.” She said.Elijah's expression showed that he expected a more elaborate introduction.“That's it …. I'm Aurora.” She said again.“Wait really? What's your rank? There has to be something else apart from your name.” Elijah said.“Well sadly, I'm too weak to be called an Omega, so I was never given a rank, and I'm a slave, so there's nothing special about slaves.” Aurora said.“I see… Well, in this pack, you are as free as a bird. Furthermore, there is no way you are that weak, I mean you healed up such deep cuts all on your own.” Elijah said, trying to be positive.“Pfft… It took me days to do so, and I'm sure you might have injected me with something that kept me alive long enough to heal them.

It's pointless to argue, I'm weak.” Aurora said.“If you truly are as weak as you say, then you're in luck because I'm the best at making people strong.” Elijah said.“Thank you, but I'll pass…. I'm too weak to even survive a training drill, how then would I become strong?” Aurora said.“Damn… This girl's mind is made up to the fact that she can never be strong, how could someone have such low self-esteem?” Elijah said in mind.“Try and be positive, the key to becoming stronger is to think stronger.” Elijah said.

“Besides, you'll have to get revenge one day or another on those that tried to kill you.”As she finished her breakfast, Elijah stood up. “I'll leave you to rest, Aurora. But know this — I'll be back, and we'll figure out who tried to kill you. Together.”“Is that really necessary?” Aurora asked.“Yes of course… It's obvious it isn't only your body they've damaged. You lack self-esteem, and I'm pretty sure it's because of this same person. Whoever it is, doesn't deserve to live.” Elijah said.“I guess you're right, but you honestly don't know what you're up against.” Aurora said.“I'm the strongest Omega.

I've fought Betas, and Omegas, and I won, this one wouldn't be an exception.” Elijah boasted.“What if it's an Alpha?” Aurora asked.“Hmmm… Good question.” Elijah said.“Would you lose? Is an Alpha stronger than you?” Aurora asked.“Nah…. I'd win.” Elijah said.“You seem very confident for an Omega, and very wealthy too… Are you sure you aren't lying to me about your rank?” Aurora asked.“What? No…. The scales never lie, and besides, I'm a hunter…. A bounty hunter, it's normal for me to be wealthy.” Elijah defended.

“But…"The doors flung open, interrupting Aurora, and A black vicious werewolf barged in, with murderous intent, gnarling at Aurora.“Get behind me.” Elijah said, as his claws flung out.The werewolf roared viciously, and in the blink of an eye was on top of Aurora, about to kill her.“What was that speed just now? I couldn't see a thing.” Elijah said, momentarily taken aback.“Not again…" Aurora cried.
