2. Visit the Cemetery

The first plan worked.

Dian à out a rough breath as she sat in the driver's side passenger car. She flicked her hair back repeatedly, preparing to tie it up.

While beside Dian, there was a man watching with a cold gaze. One hand grasped the steering wheel of the car.

"Have you successfully carried out the first plan?" the man asked, looking at Dian seriously.

Before tying her hair, Dian lowered the glass of the car dashboard. She smoothed the strands of hair at the temples before tying it up.

"Can't you see the look of satisfaction on my face?" Dian replied without looking at the man beside her.

The man laughed sarcastically. "Are you satisfied because you successfully executed the plan or because of the 'plan' itself?"

Hearing the sarcasm in the man's words caught her attention. Dian spontaneously turned her head to the side, looking at the man with a frown.

"You mean, I look satisfied because of the 'satisfaction' Andri gave me?"

The man casually nodded his head. "That's right, isn't it? Even so, I can be more confident that Andri will be instantly captivated."

Finished tying her hair, Dian chuckled amusedly. There was a sense of pride. Moreover, this plan had been desired by her for a long time, and now it had just materialized to be realized.

"You already know the right answer, Zaka," Dian replied with a smile full of pride. Then he exhaled softly, flashing a beaming smile. "I can't wait to see... the slow... fall of that man."

There was a sardonic laugh from the side. The man called Zaka looked ahead, preparing to drive his car. Zaka occasionally looked back to check the backing of the car.

"I've always liked your ambition, Dian. You'll have to raise my pay if you succeed," Zaka said in a joking tone with a cold look on his face.

Dian was used to hearing a joking tone with a cold look on her face. So Dian casually tapped Zaka on the shoulder. Dian replied with a playful laugh.

"Have I ever broken a promise, Zaka? Take it easy. Just as long as you don't break my trust."

Zaka glanced back at Dian to flash a sardonic smile. But Dian did not take offense.

"Want to go to the usual place?" Zaka asked without looking at Dian.

Dian cleared her throat in agreement. "You already know where I want to go."

"Of course."

And so, the car drove off in silence between the two of them.

During the silence, Dian, who sat with her chin resting on her elbow on the window, thought of something. The image of the incident one year ago immediately played out. Dian closed her eyes briefly to dismiss the memory.

Damn. How I hate to see that man living in wealth on top of other people's suffering, Dian thought with a heart full of anger.

When she opened her eyes, she roughly wiped her lips where she had kissed earlier. Dian was disgusted. It was fortunate that she and Andri had not been so intimate.

Even so, Dian still showed her innocent body to Andri. And how stupid Andri was for not being able to realize the difference in her body.

Beside a mound of earth that had just been sown with flowers, Dian looked at a ceramic gravestone. Dian's eyes were more precisely fixed on the name engraved on the tombstone.

Dina Talitha Zhafir.

Dian's heart always throbbed with pain every time she read that name. This was not her first visit to this cemetery. But still. There was still a clear sense of unwillingness in her heart remembering her sister's death.

How could fate be so cruel to Dina - her sister?

Dian really couldn't stop thinking that Dina's life would end like this. Andri, on the other hand, was already rolling in wealth. In fact...

"He's already built the third branch of the hotel?" Dian laughed sarcastically and looked away. Her chest was tight, like being hit by a heavy object.

The fact that fate was playing with Dina's life made Dian angry. Unfortunately, Dian couldn't do anything to bring Dina back.

"Hey..." Dian touched Dina's ceramic gravestone, staring intently. "You're so lame. Is that the kind of man you chose as your husband?"

Dian laughed at Dina. Just like their childhood memories, Dian always laughed at Dina. Because Dina's nature, which chose to be silent rather than fight, made Dian have to be a shield.

For Dian, Dina was always unlucky.

But for a life path like this, Dian did not call Dina's life unlucky. In fact, Dina should have run away from her husband long ago - run to Dian or tell her.

"Even the slightest flirtation with him has collapsed the defense. How can you go through years of marriage with someone like that, huh?" Dian scolded the mound of earth in front of her.

It was as if she was talking to Dina.

"Are you still smiling there? Are you still going to say, 'Dian, I'm okay, don't pay them back', huh?" Dian's voice began to tremble as her heart throbbed with pain.

Dian took a deep breath and let it out slowly. The tightness in her chest pushed a puddle into her eyes.

"If you can see, your husband is living a good life now," Dian grumbled, her voice almost a whisper of emphasis but trembling. "He's living a good life on top of your death, Sis!"

Eventually, Dian's defenses broke. Tears spilled from her eyes. Dripping one by one down both cheeks.

Dian could not hold back her heartache. The more she remembered how stupid she was for never being by Dina's side, the angrier she became at herself.

If only Dian could choose, she shouldn't have lived abroad. She should have remained Dina's shield so that her twin sister's life would not end like this.

"You can't stop me anymore, Sis. Whatever you think, I don't care," Dian said. "I will avenge your death. She can't live a life like that."

Dian desperately kept her voice from breaking. She hated being weak. Because if she was weak, she couldn't take care of her brother.

And now Dian couldn't take care of Dina either.

They were already so far away.

"I miss you, Sis ... I'm sorry for ... for not being by your side."

Dian's head bowed. She flopped down to sit on the grass, not caring that her clothes would get dirty. The regret in Dian's heart made her shoulders sob even harder.

"I'm sorry, Sis..." Dian said softly, trembling.

From behind, Zaka who had just arrived sighed heavily. For some reason, he didn't like seeing Dian like this. His heart always throbbed with pain every time he saw Dian's weak side.

They had been together for years. Zaka knew that Dian did not submit easily to anything. Dian never wanted to let herself lose because her ambition was so high.

But for Dian, Dina was her weakness.

Whenever confronted with Dina, Dian would fall to her knees. Her ambition would fade for a while, then she would be trapped in guilt.

So Zaka slowly sat down beside Dian. Dian seemed to have noticed his arrival, but did not raise her face at all.

He put one hand gently on Dian's shoulder, giving her a gentle pat.

"Dian," Zaka called softly. "It's already afternoon. You haven't even had lunch yet."

There was no reaction. Dian still buried her face in the folds of her hands. Her legs were bent together.

"I know you're sad, but you have to eat," Zaka added. It was a bit awkward when he had to say warm words to someone else.

Irritated, Zaka said, "Dian, I won't be responsible if you get sick."

Still. Dian didn't want to lift her face. But in a muffled voice, Dian said sulkily.

"My face is ugly when I cry, you can't see it!"
