JOB AT SKY RISE

"Hey, Lexy! A lady with big blue eyes yelled, jumping on the bed and hitting Lex with a pillow.

" Ughhh....what??? Lex groaned as she turned around on the bed, her eyes still closed

"Wake up! dumb girl, it's afternoon already! The lady shouted, shaking Lex vigorously as she smiled.

Slowly opening her eyes, Lex stared at her friend murderously...

" Now what, Riele?

"So...remember the commercial you signed up for? Riele asked, her lips curling up into a smirk as she stared at Lex

" Yeah? Lex replied, rubbing her eyes, seemingly not interested in the gist.

"The one you auditioned for?

"Yes, yes, Riele...I remember " Lex said, rolling her eyes.

"You got the lead model, and a job at Skyrise industries" Riele said, smiling at Lex who was currently dumbstruck.

Her eyes, darted back and forth between the door and Riele, her mouth agape, seemingly in shock.

"I...I...got it? She stammered, her eyes getting moist

"I got it? She asked again.

"Yes, you did" Riele said, smiling at her.

"Oh, my baby is finally becoming a woman. They grow up so fast" Riele added, wiping off fake tears dramatically...

"Don't forget me when you become a wealthy mama, you have to pay me for my great managing skills, I'm your manager after all" Riele said, shrugging off her shoulder proudly.

"Silly" Lex said, chuckling as she playfully hit her friend's head. Riele had been her friend for years now. She accepted her even when everyone else didn't. Riele accepted her despite her weird white hair. She helped her start her modelling career. She was her friend, and her manager.

"Ouch, My head is now bleeding... look."

Riele said, showing Lex the imaginary blood on her hand after touching her head.

"You're so silly" Lex said, lazily getting off the bed, heading for the bathroom.

"Make sure to wear something nice, Lexy...we're going to the company!! Riele yelled behind the closed door of the bathroom, her lips curling up into a smirk.

Getting ready, the both of them headed to the company to sign the contract.

*Skyrise Industries*

The two ladies walked into the building, dressed fashionably in long fitted gowns that accentuated their curves. They were dressed simply, but looked good at the same time. They walked with their hips swaying and their heads held high.

A lady walked towards them, holding some papers...Her neck length hair styled fashionably. She looked like an assistant, since she was dressed formally in a black fitted knee length dress and short black heels.

"Please follow me" She said, leading the way.

Getting to a glass door, she pushed it open, leading the two ladies in.

Walking in, Both ladies were met with a medium sized room that had a big glass table at the center, chairs resting around it. There was a huge screen on one end of the room. Looked like a meeting room.

Walking in, there was a man sitting on one of the chairs. His eyes sparkling as he met the two ladies.

"Please sit" he said, showing them to the chairs opposite him.

Settling down, they stared at the man opposite them. He had a well defined jawline, his eyes were emerald green. Although there were little wrinkles beneath his eyes, he looked handsome, even if he was older.

"I'm Gabe, the HR manager, and this is my assistant, Hailey" The man said, turning to look at the lady that had led them earlier.

"Nice to meet you, miss Lex" he added...

"I'll just give you the contract, and you can read through it, Decide if you want to have it" Gabe said, motioning for Hailey to hand the papers over.

Getting a hold of the papers, Riele read through it seriously before nodding her head and handing them over to Lex.

Picking up the pen, Lex signed them, her eyes emotionless.

Smiling at them, Gabe stood to his feet.

"Welcome to Skyrise" He said, then turned around and left with his assistant, leaving the two ladies alone in the room. Both of them stared at each other, their expressions cold.

"This is it" Lex said, finally turning her head to look at the door from which Gabe had left.

"This is it" She repeated, her eyes looking dead.

*Greene Mansion*

"Beta" A man called out, bowing his head.

"speak" Alex Commanded, twirling the glass of wine in his hand

"We found her, beta. We suspect she's the one"

"Suspect? So you're not sure then?

" Yes, beta" the man said, still bowing.

"Does the alpha suspect this too?

" Yes, beta...he has met her."

"Keep an eye on her" Alex said, waving his hand, indicating for the man to leave.

Taking a sip from the glass, His gaze hardened.

Half of the day went by with Lex working in the cafe, and Riele going about her life too.

There wasn't too much stress as there were no many customers. When she was done with work, she walked along the pavement as usual, feeling the fresh air blow on her skin. She was smiled to herself as she walked, feeling fulfilled.

Turning her head, she sighted the ice cream shop on the other side. Deciding to do something different, she walked to the other side, pushing the door of the ice cream shop open as she walked in. It looked really cute, with different cute colors on the wall. Walking towards the show glass, she met the lady in charge of the sales.

"What would you like, Ma'am" the lady said, smiling at Lex.

"Can I have some ice cream please? Lex asked, smiling back, her big grey eyes focused on the show glass.

" What flavour would you like?

"Chocolate, please"

"That would be two dollars" The lady said, scooping some ice cream onto the ice cream cone and handing it over to Lex.

Paying for the ice cream, Lex walked out of the cream shop, all smiles, not minding her surroundings until she bumped into something that had her stumble onto the floor.

"Ouch" She cried without tears, rubbing her behind. She had fallen on her butt onto the hard pavement.

"Watch it, Human! She heard a feminine voice shriek. She looked up to meet the stature of a slender woman in a red dress. She was holding on to a chubby little boy in school uniform.

What a cute boy, she thought.

Staring at the woman, Lex noticed the ice cream stains on her dress. Getting up abruptly, she apologized...

" I'm so sorry, Ma'am, I didn't see you just now"

"That's because there's something wrong with your eyesight, you Lowly human" The woman said, staring daggers at Lex.

Human? Lex thought, seemingly unable to understand.

"I already said I was sorry, I was even the one who fell, what more do you want? Lex asked, her voice laced with frustration.

"You must compensate me for ruining my dress"

"What now, miss? Compensate you? I could help you wash it, but I don't have a dime to give you" Lex said, shrugging off her shoulder.

The woman was about to say something, but a voice cut her off...

"Quit bullying her, Emelda" A man said, walking steadily towards them, his eyes glowing blue. He was dressed in a casual white T-shirt and black pants. His dark brown hair had been styled perfectly, making him look more masculine. Reaching them, His eye's rested on Lex, who was dumbstruck at his glowing blue eyes. Was that normal? Lex asked herself as she stared at him, lost in thought

How many good looking men must she meet, lex thought to herself.

Smirking at her state, his brow raised questioningly.

"Caught your heart? He asked, still smirking, snapping her off her reverie. His eyes were normal now... Perhaps she was just seeing things?

Not waiting for her to speak, he turned to the other woman who was currently fuming.

"Let's go" He said, his deep voice laced with coldness.

Staring at Lex, her eyes glowed bright yellow before walking away with the man.

Watching them leave, Lex stood there frozen to the spot. Her eyes just glowed, right?

lex asked herself.

Pushing the thoughts aside, maybe she was just hallucinating. Regaining her composure, she dusted off the dirt on her clothes, then walked off, heading home as she thought about the incident.

Reaching home, she quickly changed and headed to bed, having expectations for tomorrow. She got a job at Skyrise industries after all. Smiling to herself, she closed her eyes as she fell asleep.
