"You've always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it by yourself." The Wizard Of Oz.
It was very dark inside, only a small candle that was about to melt completely and his shiny hair illuminated the dungeon.
Jimin was lying on the cold floor, his eyes staring at the railings, hoping to see someone approaching, but it had been hours since he was trapped in the castle tower without anyone offering him food. His stomach was gurgling and his throat was dry. Oh, how much he craved what he ate at the Duke's mansion.
Normally, in this kind of situation he should be thinking about how to escape from the castle or what happened when he landed in this strange world but no, the only thing that couldn't leave his thoughts were his eyes, the King's eyes.
It was fascinating how they changed color from one second to the next. Other people will probably be afraid but it was not the case of Jimin, he thought it was amazing and was curious to know why they changed, he wanted to see them again.
He looked around him, he could only see dirty walls, covered with some blood stains. He gulped, thinking that there were other prisoners before him and that they had suffered because of the violence.
"Where is he?" the king's deep voice made him jump from surprise.
"Follow me, sir." He heard steps approaching his cell, his heart was beating very fast and he quickly got up and sat on a small wooden chair at the corner.
He saw the king walking towards him and by his side a tall man wearing a long black cape with a hood that covered his entire face.
"Open the door for him." the king asked the guard.
The gnome took out his giant keys and opened it strongly, making the small boy scared.
"Oh, lord." the mysterious man mumbled when he saw him. "Such a hair.." he approached him slowly and knelt in front of the chair.
Jimin's entire body was shaking with fear, but a part of him was calmer thanks to the smell that emanated from the man, a beautiful smell of orange blossom along with lavender. "W-who are you?" he asked.
The stranger pulled his hood down to uncover his long, straight black hair that descended a little bit below his shoulders. He was a beautiful man with a radiant tan skin and gorgeous purple eyes that illuminated his entire face. "I am a Wizard." the man said with a comforting smile. "My name is Hoseok."
Jimin just nodded his head, still surprised by the strange color of his eyes.
"What is your name?"
"Jimin."
"Pretty name." Hoseok rubbed his chin. "Well, Jimin, I must say that your hair is very beautiful." he added. "May I?" he waited for his permission to touch his diamond locks.
"Y-yes."
The Wizard smiled and gently passed his long fingers through the magical hair. He breathed slowly and closed his eyes and he seemed to calm down every time he felt it against his skin. "Lord, this is incredible." he mumbled.
He opened his eyes and stared at Jimin with confusion.
"So, what is he?" the king asked from behind the grids.
Hoseok rubbed his chin and sighed. "I cannot seem to recognize what kind of creature he is, this is very new to me."
He gently turned Jimin's face to examine it and checked some parts of his body like his arms and his neck. The younger would flinch every time he touches him. "Oh, am I hurting you?"
"It does not matter if you are hurting him, just check!" the king shouted and Jimin got surprised when he saw his eyes shift to red again.
"Your majesty." Hoseok smiled. "Go easy on the young boy, he did nothing wrong to be treated this way."
"Nothing wrong?" the king furrowed. "He entered my castle and was about to steal MY portrait to sell it in the market."
"W-what?" Jimin's eyes grew wider. "I-I swear I wasn't trying to do such a thing." he shook his hands and stared at Hoseok, hoping he would believe him.
"He is not lying." The Wizard told the King who immediately calmed down and his eyes returned to their grey color.
"Then." he entered the cell to approach them. "Why did you enter my castle?" he asked coldly.
"L-like I told you earlier, I was lost, I didn't know where I was and where to go and..t-there was a voice who kept telling me to enter.."
"A voice?" both the King and the Wizard furrowed.
The young boy nodded. "A woman's voice." he answered. "She kept telling me to enter the castle."
"I cannot believe you." the King mumbled.
"Your majesty, he is telling the truth." Hoseok said. "You know I have the power to detect the liars and he is surely not one."
The King cleared his throat and kept staring at Jimin. "Did she tell you something else?"
"N-no, she just told me to come here.."
"But I still do not understand, how can someone ignore what he is?"
"I..I am a human..b-but not a normal one." Jimin sighed.
"A human?" both were confused. "What kind of creature is this?"
"It's..it's not from this world..I-I came from somewhere else."
The Wizard sat on the floor, cross-legged and rubbed the back of his neck. He seemed very confused. "From where did you come from then?" he asked the boy.
"From Earth?" Jimin replied shyly, feeling that his answers would seem very ridiculous to them.
"You are saying that there is a world other than Fantasia?" the King scoffed. "What a ridiculous joke."
"But it is true!"
The King furrowed. "Raising your voice again?" he gave him a death glare.
"I-I am sorry." Jimin nervously lowered his head.
"This young creature looks very lost and confused." Hoseok sighed. "Your majesty should maybe give him his freedom, he does not seem dangerous."
"I cannot trust him." the King crossed his arms. "I will not free him easily."
"P-please your majesty, I-I won't do anything bad!" Jimin begged.
A light green color blended with the gray of the King's eyes, he looked calm and confused as he watched him kneel before him, but it did not last long. "Getting on your knees will not help you get out of there." he mumbled coldly before heading out the cell.
"I am very sorry Jimin." Hoseok pouted and helped him stand up. "I cannot defy his orders."
"Thank you Hoseok." the boy quickly wiped a tear.
"I will come to see you tomorrow." the Wizard smiled and joined the king.
"Your majesty!" Jimin called, making the two males stop and turn toward him.
"What do you want?" The King asked coldly.
"W-what is your name?" the boy asked shyly.
The King's eyes grew wide as they shifted to a shiny blue color, like sapphire. Hoseok stared at the king with surprise then smirked and turned to face the strange boy. "His name is Yoongi, King Yoongi The Second."
Jimin blushed and slowly bowed to him. "I am pleased to meet you, King Yoongi."
Yoongi couldn't articulate a word, he just stared at him, the surprise not leaving his face. He couldn't believe how the young creature was being nice to him while he only treated him badly and how he was the first to ask for his name.
He quickly chased the thoughts from his mind and cleared his throat. "Well, I am not pleased at all to meet you." he mumbled before leaving.
????
He couldn't sleep that night, the scary gnomes came to check on him from time to time, and it was enough to just see their shape-shifted faces and their horrible big red eyes to chase the little sleepiness he had.
For the first time, he felt his body weaken because he had not eaten for long hours. He crouched in a corner and crossed his arms to warm up a little. The dungeon was cold, certainly because the castle was on a mountain and Jimin was in the highest tower.
He managed to sleep for a while but the icy breeze coming from the small window from above woke him up. He sighed and stood up, he didn't know what time or what day it was, since he arrived at Fantasia, he lost all sense of time.
He approached the walls, his eyes not leaving the big blood stains. He wondered if these prisoners were really guilty or were poor innocents like him. He quickly shook his head, he couldn't believe that the King could hurt people who didn't deserve it. He may be rough and cold, scary and mysterious, but something in him convinced him that he was not a bad person.
He sighed, his heart was aching for those people who may have died inside this cell. He rested his head on the wall and suddenly, something really strange happened, the dirt and blood stains that were in the place that his hair touched disappeared.
He opened his eyes wide and gasped. "W-what happened?" he mumbled to himself, caressing the clean and shiny spot. He kept staring at it confusingly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Is it my hair?" he saw another blood stain and decided to try it again, he gently rubbed his hair against it and lifted his head to see if something happens.
Indeed, the blood disappeared too.
He bit his lower and stared at the walls around him. "I have nothing better to do so..let's do some cleaning." he mumbled before rubbing his shiny hair over any stains he could reach. He spent the whole night cleaning every corner of the wall until he couldn't stand it anymore. He didn't know why erasing all these stains was satisfying him in a strange way.
~~
He slept when he got tired and woke up one or two hours later when the sun rays illuminated the walls. He smiled lazily, admiring his masterpiece but he wouldn't be completely happy because he was feeling very weak and hungry.
He stood up and walked toward the guard who was standing right next to the grid. "Excuse me.." he whispered with a tired voice and breathless voice. "Can you..bring me some water?"
The gnome frowned and shook his head. "No water for you." he answered with a deep scary voice.
"W-what about food then? Just..just a piece of bread."
"No food for you."
Jimin sighed and put his head against the iron grid. "I'm hungry.." he felt tears burning his eyes.
Getting some food from the guards was hopeless so he just went back to his corner and sat silently, waiting for someone to come and save him.
Hours passed and his body weakened more, he didn't even have the energy to cry for his misery. He closed his eyes and rested his head against the wall, mumbling some incoherent words.
"Good aftern- oh, lord!" he heard a familiar voice and lazily opened his eyes. Hoseok was asking the guard to open the door and quickly ran to him. "Are you alright?" he knelt in front of him and put his warm hands on his cheeks. "You are so pale and..look at your li-" his eyes grew wider and he gasped when he finally realized the changes inside the dungeon. The walls were cleared from every dirt and every stain, it looked fresh and new. "W-what happened here?" he asked.
"It's..it's my hair." Jimin mumbled weakly. "I did this."
"I told you your hair was magical." Hoseok said and gently caressed his locks.
"W-water please."
"Pardon?"
"I want..some water." the young boy whispered. "And food."
"You..you mean they have not offered you any food? This is why you are in this state?" the Wizard furrowed.
Jimin simply nodded.
Hoseok shook his head in disbelief, he turned to the guard and put his hands on his waist. "You! Why did you not bring him any food?!"
"His majesty forbade it."
"His maj-" the Wizard clenched his fists and bit the inside of his cheek. "I will bring you some food and water." he told the boy. "I will come back in a while, alright?" he patted his head.
"Mm."
????
Hoseok came back with a jar of water and a basket of fruits, he entered the cell and found Jimin standing up, his body resting against the grid. "Here, drink this." he held him so that he can drink the water.
"Who said you could offer his food?" Yoongi surprised them.
"Your majesty." the guards an the Wizard bowed to him. "The poor creature was starving, he needs to eat."
The King gulped when he saw Jimin's pale face and dry lips, his eyes immediately shifted to green as he kept watching him.
"Your majesty, please allow me to offer him food." Hoseok said, impatience winning over him. He couldn't stand seeing the young boy in this horrible state.
Jimin weakly retired from Hoseok's grip and approached the King. He looked at him with sad and tired eyes as he felt his knees failing to his control, "Y-yoongi." he whispered before fainting against the black haired's body.
Yoongi froze.
The younger's head was resting on his shoulder and he could feel his difficult breaths brushing his neck, sending shivers through his entire body. He bit his lip too strong to control his emotions but feeling Jimin's heart beating against his own was making him anxious. His eyes shifted to the same sapphire blue that appeared when the younger asked for his name the day before.
Jimin couldn't move because he was too weak to do anything and also because he liked feeling the softness of the velvet coat against his cheek.
The guard interrupted this moment by pushing Jimin away from the King and threw him to the purple eyed. "I am sorry, your majesty." he bowed and regained his position.
Yoongi couldn't respond, he stood there, his eyes still wide and blue, his body inert. He watched as Hoseok put the younger's head against him and helped him drink some water. Then, his gaze stopped on the walls. He furrowed. "What happened here?" he asked.
"The poor creature surely could not sleep last night so he used the magic of his hair to clean all the dirty blood stains so that time passes quickly." Hoseok mumbled coldly.
"His hair can do this.."
"He does not feel well." the Wizard said, when Jimin closed his eyes and stopped drinking. "Call the healer!" he told the guard, who didn't respond to him and just kept staring in front of him.
He rolled his eyes and looked at Yoongi. "Order him!" he shouted.
Yoongi sighed. "Call the healer."
The gnome bowed and did as told.
After a few moments, an elf with long silver hair, arranged in a simple braid behind his back. He was wearing a long brown rope with a black apron around his waist. "What is happening?" he asked before bowing to the king and entering the cell. "Who is t-" his eyes grew wide when he saw Jimin laying on the floor. "Such a beautiful creature." he mumbled.
"Namjoon, come see him." Hoseok said.
The healer knelt in front of the body and kindly bowed his head to Hoseok. "It is good to see you." he told him.
"We live in the same castle and we do not even see each other." the Wizard sighed.
"Mm." Namjoon checked Jimin's eyes and tongue. "His throat is dry, along with his lips..dehydration." he rubbed his chin. "His pulse seems alright but weak..has he not been eating?"
Hoseok sent the King a death glare. "No, someone forbade it."
"I see." the healer got something from the leather bag he brought.
"Lavender?" the Wizard furrowed when he saw the purple plant.
Namjoon nodded as he was mixing the plant with some water. "Lavender can be used for reviving a person from fainting spell, usually caused due to tension, anxiety or malnutrition." he said. "He has to wake up first to eat something then he will need a good rest."
Hoseok stared at the healer who was calmly preparing the herbal drink with an elegance, his silver braid falling on his shoulder. "I always admired you for your calmness." he told him.
The healer smiled. "Getting angry or stressed over something will certainly not help the patient, it only worsens it."
The Wizard nodded with a smile and lifted Jimin's head to make him drink the lavender mix.
Yoongi was observing them, biting his lower lip strongly and crossing his arms.
"Now, he should eat something and rest." Namjoon said when the young boy opened his eyes.
"Help me walk him to my room." Hoseok said.
"Your room?" the King furrowed.
"I cannot let him stay in this dungeon, this is horrible." the purple-eyed said. "I will let him rest in my room. Namjoon, help me please."
They both put his arms around their shoulders and walked out the cell.
"But-"
"Your majesty." the Wizard cut Yoongi off. "I will take care of him, all the responsibility will be mine so you can do as he does not exist, just ease your mind." he added, before leaving.
