Shocked

Eve POV

The sound of my blaring alarm jolted me out of my deep slumber, and forcing my eyes open, I sat up on my bed, and yawned tiredly, as I stretched my arms above my head while doing all I can, to keep my eyes open. It's time to go to work again, can my days ever get better, huh?

The thought of that jerk, Jayden, made me grimace in disgust. I was going to have to see his disgusting face again today.

Letting out a small sigh, I swung my legs down the bed, and got on my feet, before dragging my feet sluggishly into the bathroom. It's still very early, so I'll go for my usual morning workout before I finally get ready for work.

Stepping into the bathroom, I tried brushing my teeth lazily while trying to shake the sleep off my eyes. After what seemed like forever, I finally stepped out after taking my bath, changed into my sports uniform, then stormed out of my room, after picking up my headphones from the dresser.

Descending down the grand staircase, I met nanny Cleo, doing some cleaning in the living room, and I almost cringed. For heaven's sake, I told her not to do the cleaning in the house at that time of the day, 5 am. How could she disobey me, huh?

"Nanny Cleo," I called while frowning deeply at her.

"Oh, you're here, dear." She smiled heartily.

"I thought we talked about this?" I crossed my arms on my chest and rolled my eyes.

She was really trying for me in the house, and I hated the fact that she was stressing herself, but she never listened.

"C'mon dear, it's nothing. I just felt like doing it, so it's nothing." She smiled at me while waving her hand dismissively.

"Just get some rest, alright? And don't bother cooking anything this morning, I already ordered food, and it'll soon be delivered." I said, without waiting for her next words, because I know she was sure going to protest.

I stormed out of the house, and in the next few minutes, I was already on the road, jogging, while having my headphones over my head, listening to cool music.

After jogging for what seemed like forever, I finally went back home to get ready for work, and in less than an hour, I was all in my office wear.

Walking to the parking lot after having the breakfast I ordered with nanny Cleo, I hopped in one of my cars.

In the next few minutes, I was already on my way to work.

I finally got to the company.

I walked straight to the elevator, which took me to the third floor, where my office was located. Once the elevator stopped, I took out my phone to put a call through to someone, as the door rolled open, I stepped out but collided with someone, and my phone fell from my hand, scattering on the floor. What! Who the heck was this idiot, huh?

"Are you blind, huh?" I snapped angrily at whoever the idiot It was, not even bothering to check who it was. Picking my pieces of phone from the floor, I finally stood up and raised my head to check out the idiot, who didn't even act like something just happened. Lo and behold, I was welcomed by the most disgusting person ever, Jayden, with Mr. Liam standing behind him.

He stood staring at me with an angry look on his face while tucking his hands into his pockets. Oh, this was crazy, not only that it was stupid. His jaw was up as he fumed. I almost did some croaky things but quickly restrained myself. If only it was another person. The way he stood in front of me like an angry bird made my body fume in anger. What was he up to? I mean, who should be angry here? He spoiled my phone, and now gave me that look? What the heck!

"Like seriously?" I scoffed while glaring at him angrily, as the urge to slap him rushed through me, but I know best to control it. I don't want to cause a commotion here.

"Are you blind, huh?" He snapped angrily, while glaring daggers at me.

This was the height of it all, how dare he still talked to me in that manner when he was the one at fault here?

"You're the one that's blind. Is this how arrogant you are? Is this how much of a jerk you are? For heaven's sake, you just spoiled my phone, you couldn't even say a word of apology, and you're here, telling me shit?" I fired angrily at him.

"How dare you...."

"Oh! Please cut that crap! I won't stand here and watch you offend me, and as if that's not enough, insulting me again, I mean, who in their right senses, does that, huh?" I fired again while gritting my teeth.

I was just trying everything I can, not to slap him, but if he continues like this, then I was sure going to give him a slap, to reset his brain. For the fact that he was the CEO, don't give him the right to walk on anybody he wished to, and go scot-free. He can try with any other person here and will go free, but for me, he should steer clear of my path, if he doesn't want to keep seeing trouble for the rest of his life.

"One more word from you, and you're kissing your job goodbye." He threatened.

I almost flared at the statement out of his mouth but before I knew it, I was laughing, mocking him while a frown coupled with smirking crept on his face. Suddenly, all the mocking and laughing stopped and I gritted my teeth in anger.

"To hell with you and the damn job you arrogant jerk! Go to hell with your job, I don't care, and one more stupid word from you, and I'll give you a deafening slap." I said, with seriousness clear in my voice, while they stared at me in disbelief. Then I...
