Chapter 7 : That wolf

Time flew past so fast. Five months have already passed and several things have changed.

Jihwan, me, Debbie and another boy, Hakim, have become all-time buddies and spend of our free time together. Jihwan has improved a lot in his studies and often got praises from the professors.

But, as we know, there are positive and negative side of everything. Recently, I started noticing a boy, Sunhyo Kang, who would continuously glare at me. And if I glanced at him, he would intensify his stare, as if piercing right into my body with his wolf-like eyes. I told this to Debbie.

I think you should better ignore; she said; Because he is not a guy to fight with. He may cause great harm to you and I don't want that.

Well, she was right. That fellow had powers. He was senior to us and stronger than the others. It would be better if I ignored him. But what he did next wasn't easy to ignore.

It was dinner and almost every student of the college was in the cafeteria. I was sitting with Debbie and two other girls from our class, having my meal. I spotted Jihwan, not far away, with his friends. He also noticed and gave a heart warming smile.

Once we were done, we took our plates to wash them. It was a norm to clean your own plates. After we finished our job, we were about to go back to our rooms.

On our way we passed through Sunhyo and his friends. While walking past them, I felt a hand on my butt which squeezed it. I was dumbfounded. I turned back and saw Sunhyo high-fiving with one of his friends. I understood at once, it was him. I was so angry that I felt my face turning red and warm.

I marched over to the group and tapped on Sunhyo's shoulder. As soon as he turned back, I used all my force and placed a slap on his face. The students strolling through the corridor stood still and so did his friends. The place where I slapped had become red and so did his eyes. He was bewildered. I heard no one ever slapped him like this, not even the teachers.

How dare you?; he said, his voice full of anger and bewilderment.

That's my question as well. How dare YOU, touch me inappropriately?; I said.

You know who he is?; one of his friends said.

Yes, I do. He is a boar with wolf-like eyes, who is always ready to pounce on any female; I replied.

The guy said no more.

Sunhyo was glaring at me with extremely angry eyes. The pupils had become small because of rage and his lips became thinner.

You will pay for this; he said, turned back and left, followed by his minions.

It was after he left, that I realized, I made a grave mistake. Debbie had warned me not to fight with him, and that's just the thing I did. My heart suddenly filled with fear.

What if he harms me in some way or the other?

Naomi; came a voice from the side. It was Jihwan.

Jihwan, I-I...; I stuttered.

I saw what happened. It was brave of you, but now you should be careful. He is not going to forget this easily; Jihwan said in the most gentle tone. My heart softened.

I was happy to see that all guys are not the same.

I returned back to my room and went to sleep. But it was impossible to sleep.

'You will pay for this', these lines kept haunting me.

I decided, I will be careful from the next time and report to the teacher, if I sense something wrong. Maybe this will keep me safe; I murmured to myself and went back to sleep.
