***Molly Moore***

For my first fashion show, it was a success. I would have loved to share this day with him. Him this coward who did not know how to love me as much as I loved him. When I think about it, I get very sad. I had so many plans for both of us. I was so addicted to him that I didn't realize I was dating the most mischievous of men.

Today, even after 5 long years had passed I still couldn't get over Peet and his betrayal. I was 20 at the time. He was my boyfriend at the time. I remember at that time we were very much in love with each other. That's what I thought, actually. I had thought that our love could have overcome everything as it was so true. Then came the day that started it all. That day, we had just argued because I had decided to go to the countryside with my father because he was dying and he wanted to spend the rest of his life in his country house for more of tranquility.

Unfortunately, Peet didn't see it that way. He told me that he was not one of his men who could spend time alone. And that consequently, his fiancée could not be in a corner of the city. But I didn't want for anything in the world to abandon my father for his last moments, even though my mother was accompanying him. I told myself that I could make the round trip from time to time. Except that, by the time I got back, he was already about to unite his life with another without my knowing that bastard. And in the name of what ? Money. And there are people who will say that money does not buy happiness. Why on earth did he guarantee marriage to another with the man of his life?

***Flashback***

"I don't want you to go there," he begged me.

-Honey, I won't spend much time. It's just for a month, I tried to reassure him in vain.

-I will miss you so much. I don't want you to go Molly. It's either you stay or we don't talk anymore, he adds vehemently seeing that I wasn't reacting as I wanted.

-Me too my love I will miss you. That doesn't mean I'm making you threats like that. We could talk every day if we wanted. I will come every week.

************************************

I had taken his threats lightly. Yet Peet was very serious in his words. He didn't even accompany me that day to the airport. He showed me by his act that he was very angry with me. I know him only too well. It is in his habits to react like this every time we have a mouthful. But I was hoping that once there he would change his mind and come back to me as he always does.

Unfortunately, this time it was different. I was trying to talk to him. I figured even once a week would be enough. Regrettably, every time I called him, I got his answering machine. Then one fine day, it stopped ringing. Filled with worry, I wanted to go home to find out what was happening to him. Peet is not the type to play dead.

The very day of my return, as I was preparing to go see my so-called boyfriend at his house to inquire about the situation, I received the call from Merly, my best friend who informed me of the imminence of the worst possible scenario.

***Flashback***

- Hi Molly!

- Merly my darling! How are you ?

-Good. I doubt very much you will as soon as I tell you why I am calling you.

- So what my dear? You are worrying me.

-I don't have much time, honey. Right now I'm at Peterson's wedding. He brought me the invitation himself. Looks like he wanted to taunt you.

-Wh… What? What did you just tell me? I sit up abruptly.

To say I was shocked was an understatement.

-Peterson is getting married to Ella my beautiful. Waits. I'll send you a picture of them in wedding attire.

Merly had quickly taken a photo of them and sent it to me. If I hadn't seen them with my own eyes, I probably wouldn't have believed him. And even then I tried to convince myself that it wasn't real. That I was swimming in the middle of a nightmare.

- No I can't believe what you just told me Merly. Peet would never do such a thing to me. You are wrong Merly, I let go in tears. You know what ? I have to come and see with my own eyes if it's true, I get up. Will I be in time for the reception if I leave my house now?

- I think so, my dear. I am waiting for you.

Merly sent me the address of where the reception will be given by message that day. I took my mother's car without her noticing and went to the place indicated. It was going to take me a good 3 hours to complete the course.

All I wanted was to get there in time to see if it was really my Peet who was getting married that day. I trusted him so much. And I'm up until then convinced that he would never do such a thing to me. He is a man of integrity and righteousness. Above all else, he will be faithful to me, I always thought. It is clear that no.

***External Narrator***

While Molly was still on her way. Merly decided to go confront Peet and tell him his four truths.

-I thought it would have been Molly here. Why did you do such a thing to him? She gets angry. Hasn't she always been there for you in your hard times?

-It was Molly who abandoned me first, I'll let you know. Didn't I beg her not to get away from me?

- Get away from you! You would have wanted her to abandon her father to his fate perhaps?

-It's none of my business.

- She didn't abandon you. She had just gone there with her father in view of his state of health. She also had to… You know what, you're a heartless person. After all she's done for you, how can you marry another person? She trusted you so much. How can you forget about him so quickly, you old pig?

Peterson turned to the security guard who was across the room.

-Security, get that girl out of my sight, he yells. I don't want any turbulence in my marriage.

-Good play Peterson, she applauds. You will regret it all your life, poor clown. I'm telling you. You'll never find a girl as wonderful as Molly. And when you come crawling back to her feet, I hope she has the guts to send you to hell, old dog. She's too good for you.

The man approached Merly and took her by the arm.

-Don't touch me you fool. I can go out on my own. I know the way. Thank you for your kindness.

Merly came out with her head held high from the place where the wedding was being celebrated. After of course having launched congratulations to the bride and groom. As soon as the ceremony was over, the others all went to their cars in order to go to the place of the reception.
