*3 hours later*
Nova's POV
"Nova," I hear Nick's quiet voice.
I open my eyes and look up at him and then out of the window. Sun is shining. Like nothing happened. I sigh and look at him.
"Was this a dream?" I ask.
He chuckles sadly and shakes his head. I wrap my rms around his neck and hug him as he is hugging me already.
"Thank you," I say and pull away.
He presses his lips against my forehead, which calms me even more, "No need to thank me. I'm sorry about.. everything you've been through," he says.
I smile sadly. "So why did you wake me up?" I ask.
"Your brothers were here about 30 minutes ago," he says, "They asked if you're okay and told me that the coaches didn't let them out of the hut," he says. I nod.
"Also the lunch just started," he says.
I chuckle, "It's like 3," I say.
He smiles, "Yup. They couldn't do it before... I know my favorite chips are great, but-" we both chuckle. "You wanna go and eat, baby?" he asks.
I smile so big. That 'baby' wasn't saying like he's teasing me and calling me a baby or the youngest or anything. He probably just had this feeling. And I do too. I like him calling me that.
I nod with the same smile and we both get up. "Woah, can you walk?" he asks as I feel dizzy and he catches me.
I chuckle, "Yeah. Thanks," I say and take his hand into mine.
He smiles and we go out of the hut and start walking towards the cafeteria.
"Why don't you ever wear shoes?" Nick asks.
I smirk and look at him, "I do. I can't play soccer without them," I say.
"Oh you don't say," he makes me chuckle.
"I don't know. Without them it feels like... I'm free," I say.
He smiles, "This has to have a story behind it," he says.
I chuckle, "Not really. I've always loved being barefoot.. Once I went like this on the snow when we went skiing. Mom didn't like it," I say.
He laughs and we enter the cafeteria. We walk to the guys and Chic and Jordan get up immediately. They both pull me into a hug.
"We're so sorry. They didn't let us outside. Are you okay?" they both start saying and asking these things.
"I'm fine," I chuckle. They kiss my head.
"Sure?" Chic asks.
I roll my eyes, "No, I'm starving," I say and sit down next to Nick.
"I mean.. You did seem pretty comfortable," Jordan smirks.
I roll my eyes and sit down next to Nick. They chuckle and sit down as well.
I get some food onto my plate and look at the protein smoothie my brothers are drinking.
"You know what?" I ask and get up, "I'm gonna drink coke," I tell them.
They look jealous as I walk away. I take a few dollars from my pocket and put them into the machine. It gives me a little can of coke and I walk back onto my seat.
"You suck," Chic pouts.
"You're the ones drinking crap," I say.
Nick chuckles quietly and takes a sip from my coke, which I don't mind.
"Wow dude. She didn't kill you," Ari tells him.
He smirks, "It seems as if I'm alive, yes," he says. I smile at his word use.
*Time pass, 7PM*
"Hello everyone!" we hear the camp manager saying into a mic. I sigh and so does Nick. Wd keep holding hands, but I rest my head against his arm as we look at the man.
"Since it's the first full day, we're gonna put you in groups for late night activities now," he says. "At fist, all the surfers here. And all the swimmers here," he says, pointing on two different outdoor stages.
Me and Nick walk to the surfers... So this is how this camp works. You're either a surfer or a swimmer and you choose one more sport. All the girls from our group (Ari, Josie, Sadie, Isabella, and even Emerald) chose cheerleading. Most girls did though.. Here are also basketball, football, soccer, (cheerleading), cycling, tennis, and volleyball.
"Now," the man says as everyone is on two stages. Swimmers are like 3/4th of the camp and surfers 1/4th. We chuckle.
"At first. The swimmers," he says. He starts saying these different sports I mentioned before and everyone is in groups now. It irritates me how there are no girls but me in the surfers'.
"You're unique," I hear Chic's voice in my ear. I push his head away and he, Jor and Nick all laugh at me.
"And now for the surfers," he says. "Basketball, football, cheerleading, volleyball, soccer, cycling, tennis," he says, pointing on corners of the stage.
I sigh and look at Nick. He smiles and gives my hand a little squeeze before we break apart. I go to the soccer. Great. Every other soccer player is in swimmers. I sit down on the stage, cross my legs, and rest my elbow on my bruised knee. I rest my head onto my hand and start playing with the ankle bracelet, the ones sound my wrist moving up and down.
I love bracelets.
"Ms. Willson. Earth to miss Willson!" I hear.
I look up, "I'm sorry, what?" I ask. Everyone laughs at me, Chic and Harvey even clap. I press my lips together, not to laugh.
The man chuckles, "Pick a team," he says.
I look around. Everyone is in totally new teams. How did I miss this? Was I just focused on my bracelets?
"Um," I say and stand up. I look around to see who of my friends are in the same teams.
I'm basically choosing between Nicky, Emerald and Bella or my brothers, Ari and Bruce.
"Is this a competition? Between teams?" I ask.
"Yes, Nova," the camp soccer coach says.
I smile and start walking towards my brothers. Once I'm there, they're smirking.
"20 bucks?" I ask.
"50, our team is better," Jordan says.
I roll my eyes, "You're on," I say.
I put my hands out like always and they low five me. I walk to Nick's team. He laughs at me with Emerald and Bella.
"Always competing," Isabella says.
"Don't screw it up guys, I don't have 50 bucks after this camp is over anyway," I say. They laugh.
Nick ruffles my hair, making me chuckle.
We get to know that every night 7PM we're gonna have sports competitions in different things, so that's why he tried to put someone from every team to different groups. Here are 8 groups and in every group are about 10-12 people.
*Time pass, 9:50PM*
Nick and Emerald walk me and Isabella to our hut.
"Nicky?" I ask quietly. He looks at me and his lips form into a smile. "Do you wanna meet at midnight?" I ask.
He chuckles, "What?" as we reach my and Isabella's hut. Nick is sharing his with Emerald btw, she is his best friend.
"You know.. Sneak out?" I ask.
"And what if I get you in trouble?" he smirks.
I chuckle, "Well I guess then we're both in it," I say.
"Aren't you afraid of dark?" he asks.
"It's a full moon," I say quietly, "And I'm with you."
He smiles, "Okay. But wear a swimsuit or something," he says.
"Why?" I chuckle.
He raises his eyebrows, "I don't know, maybe we wanna go and hunt some bears," he says, making me giggle.
"Okay, but only bears," I smirk.
He smiles and kisses my cheek, "Bye," he says.
"Bye," I chuckle and go into the hut. I tell Isabella all about the plan and she is going to Emerald's at midnight.
*11:58*
"Nove he won't go away," Bella whispers. The coach who is at night watch today is right between our and their hut.
"Okay, move," I whisper.
She does it. I crawl outside and take two rocks. I throw both of them into the woods. The couch looks there and starts walking there.
"Who's there?" he asks.
"Let's go," I whisper to Bella.
But before that happens, Emerald and Nick get out of their hut and sprint to ours. I chuckle and we go back inside.
"That was genius," Nick tells me. I smile.
"Only that we're gonna stay here now," Emerald says.
Me and Nick nod and these two sit down on Bella's bed. I look out of the window. Still in the woods.
"Come on," I whisper and take Nick's hand. We get out and run towards the end of the huts.
Suddenly he pulls me behind one and holds me in his arms. I giggle. He chuckles, "Shhh," he says and holds my head against his chest.
He takes a few rocks himself and throws them into the woods. The coach goes there. We run out of their sight, out of the camp territory.
We both chuckle and change to walking. He looks at my feet, "No shoes," he tells me with a smile.
"No shoes," I agree.
Now is the first time I see what he's wearing. Shorts, a T-shirt, flip flops, and his Honey Badger Jacket.
"Wait," I say and stop. He does too. "Turn your back to the moonlight," I say.
He chuckles and does it. I step closer to him and admire the Honey Badger logo. I slide my fingers over it and sigh. Gosh, I'd wanna be one.
He turns around, "You okay?" he asks.
I gulp, "Yeah," I say and shake myself out of these thoughts.
He raises his eyebrows, "And honestly?" I ask.
I smile. He already knows me so well. "It just seems cool to be part of something that big," I say.
He smiles and pushes his flip flops off of his feet.
"What are you doing?" I chuckle as he lets the jacket drop down.
"Showing you something," he says, "Let's go swimming."
I smile and take off all my clothes except for the ones I surf in.
He smiles as I start putting my hair into a messy bun, "You know what I love about you?" he asks.
The word. Love.
"What?" I chuckle and look back at him, my hair in a bun now.
"That you don't try to be someone else.. Most girls would've probably shown up in some bikini what doesn't basically hide anything. You're beautiful," he says.
I smile, "Thank you," I say. He smiles back. "I guess you’ve dated many of those girls," I smirk as we start walking towards the water.
"Is that jealousy I hear?" he asks and pokes my stomach with his finger.
I giggle, "Maybe. And?" I ask.
He takes my hand into his, "I've never dated anyone," I say.
"And when was your first kiss?" I ask.
He chuckles, "Like a real one or in truth or dare?" he asks.
I stop and look at him, "The Honey Badger king plays truth or dare?" I ask sarcastically, our ankles underwater already.
He laughs and splashes some water on me. I giggle. "I haven't had my first kiss yet. Not a real one," he says and offers me his hand again.
I smile and take it. "Neither have I," I say.
"What star sign are you?" he asks.
"Pisces," I tell him.
"Birthday?" he chuckles.
"March 14th," I say, "And you?"
"February 22nd," he says.
I smile, "Wow," I say.
"What's your favorite color?" I ask. We've talked so much, but never the basic questions.
"Dark grey. Not too dark like black. It has to look like dark grey," he says, "Yours?"
"Blue," I say.
He sighs and looks at me, "You're unbelievable. I just told you a long text about grey," he says.
I giggle, "Sea," I tell him.
"Sea has different colors," he says.
"Exactly. It's beautiful how the sea can one day seem like green and someday like blue. But when you get close enough, it's still the same color," I say.
"Just like people then," he says. The water is to his waist now and to my breast, so we stop and I turn myself to face him, amazed od what he just said. "You look at a person from far away and may think whatever you want. They might even hide who they really are... But when you get closer," he says, looking at me now, "You see. Who they really are and what they're really like," he says.
I'm amazed. I start smiling a little and he does the same. I take his other hand as well and pull him under the water with me.
We get back on the water and laugh quietly. Even though we're out of the camp zone, they may still hear us.
My hairband comes off and I sigh. "These things don't work with my hair," I say and he chuckles.
We're totally wet now and some hair is on my waist. He takes it and brushes it behind my ear. I cut my breath and just am like this.
He is looking into my eyes. Adoringly. And I'm doing exactly the same thing. His hand cups my neck and he leans in. His other hand goes onto my waist and my arms go around his neck.
And that's when our lips meet.
