"Being kissed by my idol was absolutely exhilarating."
"You will marry me, won't you?" David Bell asked, releasing Kayla, who was blushing deeply.
Kayla stared at the man before her, blushing, and softly replied, "I will."
Just moments ago, he thought she wasn't Daisy, but now he couldn't shake the feeling that this woman was Daisy. He would marry her, seek revenge, and reclaim everything.
"David, I knew you would be pleased. Let's plan our wedding for the 18th next month, a propitious day. You and Kayla can go take your wedding photos tomorrow," Charles Bell said joyfully. He hadn't expected his mother to succeed.
"Wedding photos? In this day and age, who still takes wedding photos?" David Bell immediately refused. After taking photos with Daisy, he couldn't possibly take photos with another woman.
"What day and age? Kayla said she has a friend who owns a bridal shop, so she's made an appointment for tomorrow. You must go then, don't forget. With marriage approaching, there's much to do. Your grandmother and I have things to attend to; our family hasn't had a celebration in a long time," Madison Garcia said, smiling as she left. Her grandson finally found someone, and she was truly overjoyed.
"Fine, since she wants to, I'll accompany her. After she enjoys her wedding, she'll know what it's like. Daisy, you're finished. Poor Kayla, being a substitute like this."
"Why are you getting married? You never mentioned this before," Aaron Reed said, sounding a bit upset.
"Hehe, this was decided recently by my parents. I'm quite satisfied with it myself. I'm grown-up now and hope to settle down. The timing is right, and everything falls into place. That's why I'm getting married," Kayla said with a smile.
"Do you even know this man? Does he love you? How long have you been together? Marriage is a big deal; you can't just marry because your parents want you to," Aaron Reed said, getting a bit emotional. Didn't this woman know how much he loved her all these years? In junior high, because of something she said, he gave up his family's business and opened a bridal shop here. He almost fell out with his family over this. Why hadn't she noticed his love all these years?
"But I believe feelings can be nurtured. I've met this man, and I feel strongly for him, Aaron Reed. Do you know? The moment I saw him, I decided I would spend the rest of my life with him. I want to marry him," Kayla said, the first time she fully trusted her feelings.
"Don't tell me you've only met once?" Aaron Reed questioned.
"So what if we have? Let me tell you, relationships are about feelings. Haven't you heard of love at first sight?" Kayla pouted.
"I believe in love at first sight, but I absolutely do not believe it could happen to me. I do believe love grows over time," Aaron Reed insisted.
"Alright, I won't argue with you. But I'll tell you, I have strong feelings for him. I knew we would be together the moment I saw him. You don't understand this feeling. By the way, do you have any beautiful wedding dresses here? Let me have a look," Kayla urged.
"Very well, I'll take you there," Aaron Reed said, escorting Kayla.
"Kayla, how could I not understand love at first sight? Haven't I fallen for you at first sight? Do you know how deeply I love you? Kayla, whatever brings you happiness, I will always bless."
"Wow, why is it so beautiful? How is everything exactly what I like?" Kayla exclaimed, holding the wedding gown.
"Alright, hurry and try it on," Aaron Reed chuckled, nudging Kayla into the fitting room. He remembered Kayla's preference for clean, strapless gowns. Recalling the lyric, "Marrying for others."
When Kayla emerged in the pure white strapless gown, Aaron Reed was struck dumb. Kayla's gentle smile, under the sunlight, was incredibly charming.
"Do I look beautiful?" Kayla asked with a smile.
Aaron Reed remained stunned for a long while.
"Hey, what are you staring at?" Kayla pouted, annoyed.
"Oh, sorry, it's just the first time I've seen you so beautiful, your beauty has captivated me," Aaron Reed said sincerely.
"Really? You rarely compliment me on my looks. If you say so this time, it must mean I look exceptionally beautiful now. Let me look in the mirror," Kayla said, walking over to the mirror.
"You really are very beautiful," Kayla said sincerely as she looked at herself in the mirror. She wasn't usually vain, but right now, she really did look beautiful in the mirror. That smile could infect everyone around her.
"Kayla, marriage is a significant event in life. Are you sure you've thought this through?" Aaron Reed still worried. After all, this girl had been under his protection for so long, only to be taken away by someone else. It was really frustrating.
"Aaron Reed, I know what you're worried about. Last night, lying in bed, I kept asking myself if I had really thought this through, if I could be sure that I truly loved him. But my heart tells me that if it's someone I love, I must persist. I don't know if I'll be happy marrying him, or if he loves me, but since I love him, I want to love him well. I believe that as long as I give him my love, he will surely fall in love with me. I promise he will," Kayla said with a smile.
"Kayla, seeing your determination like this, I can't say much. But I'll tell you, if one day you feel wronged, and you want someone to talk to, you can come to me. Because I'm your strongest support," Aaron Reed looked at Kayla's determination, holding back all his words, because as long as she was happy, everything was fine.
"Aaron Reed, you can rest assured. I can feel that he likes me too. You know what? He kissed me," Kayla blushed, wanting to prove that David Bell loved her.
Aaron Reed chuckled self-deprecatingly. People were like this. Why did he always end up hurting himself more? Hearing Kayla's words, his heart died completely. He had asked his beloved her.
"Damn it, why bother with wedding photos? Just thinking about it annoys me. It's the modern age, yet people still talk about taking wedding photos. This whole thing is so irritating."
"Is this the place?" Aaron Reed reluctantly put aside his work and arrived at the shop. As soon as he entered, David Bell unintentionally became the center of attention. Familiar with such common scenarios, David Bell remained indifferent.
"Finally found the place."
When David Bell pushed the door open, he saw Kayla and Aaron Reed smiling at each other.
Under the sunlight, the girl's smile was angelic, so warm and beautiful. How could Daisy smile at someone else? No, this woman isn't Daisy—what's her name again? He momentarily forgot.
"You're here?" Kayla blushed and asked David Bell shyly. Apparently, meeting him made her this shy.
"Yeah, are you done trying on dresses?" David Bell impatiently replied. Women are such trouble.
"Yeah, how does this one look on me?" Kayla turned and asked.
"Average," David Bell dismissed without even looking.
"Just average? Then I'll go try on a few more," Kayla said with a smile before going to look at other wedding dresses.
He really didn't know if this woman was truly naive or just pretending. Clearly, this man didn't like her at all. Despite his lack of interest, she still tried on other dresses just because of his comment. Looks like Kayla miscalculated this time.
"Hello, I'm Kayla's close friend, Aaron Reed." Aaron Reed extended his hand warmly.
"Hello," David Bell replied politely, shaking hands.
"You don't seem to love Kayla," Aaron Reed bluntly stated.
When Aaron Reed said this, David Bell looked at him with a different expression.
"We've been good friends for many years, and I can tell you don't love Kayla at all. If you don't love her, why marry her?" Aaron Reed looked at David Bell disapprovingly, more reproachful than anything.
"True, I indeed don't love her, not at all. But I'm going to marry her because it's her only choice," David Bell said bluntly.
"If you don't love her, why marry her?" Aaron Reed said indignantly. Is marriage a joke? If you don't love each other, you shouldn't be together. With so many divorces in the world, what's the point? It's because love isn't meant for them.
"You better understand, marriage is our affair, none of your business. You're meddling too much," David Bell said, displeased.
"Kayla's business is my business. I won't allow anyone to hurt Kayla," Aaron Reed said passionately.
"You like her a lot, don't you?" David Bell smirked. This man's audacity was astounding, showing such eyes to his fiancée in front of him.
"This isn't your concern. I just hope you won't hurt Kayla," Aaron Reed ignored the question and changed the subject.
"Kayla is my fiancée. You'd better keep your distance. Whether there's harm or not isn't up to you. Haven't you heard an old saying: 'It takes two to tango'?" David Bell reminded, displeased.
"I know Kayla is your fiancée, so rest assured. There are some things I understand the boundaries of, but there are still some things I want to say to you, even if you may not want to hear them. Kayla is a very innocent and kind girl, also very determined. I know you don't love her, but she has already fallen into your world. There are things I cannot say much about, but I can tell you, perhaps you don't love Kayla now, but I'm certain that once you understand her, once you are with her, you will realize how wonderful Kayla truly is. At that time, I assure you, you will fall in love with her. I also hope you give Kayla a chance to love you sincerely and that you also give yourself a chance to see that there are still such good girls in this world. You won't regret it then." Aaron Reed earnestly spoke.
"What do you mean by this? Weren't you very fond of her? Why are you telling me all this now? Are you still a man?" David Bell suddenly couldn't understand.
"Yes, I do like her very much, but she has never known. I've been in the same class with her since elementary school, always guarding her. Everyone knows I like her, but she doesn't. If she doesn't want to know, I would never tell her. I can't tell her I like her because I'm afraid it will ruin our precious friendship. I'd rather silently protect her, as long as she is happy. I heard she's getting married and I'm saddened, but seeing her mention you with such happiness, I know her heart is already with you. Seeing her happy makes me happy too." Aaron Reed smiled.
"Your words are touching, but I'm just listening. What happens between me and her is no one else's business. I can also tell you, she is about to become my wife, David Bell. You should dispel all your fantasies about her because she has always belonged to me, David Bell." After saying this, David Bell ignored Aaron Reed's perplexed expression, walked outside the fitting room, and waited for his fiancée to come out.
Watching David Bell leave, Aaron Reed could only hope that heaven would bless this man to love Kayla. There was nothing more he could say.
"Kayla, I wish you happiness forever."
It seems this man is possessive. If he could love Kayla, she would be happy for life. If he doesn't love her, it will be Kayla who suffers.
"Huh? Why are you at the door?" Kayla was surprised to see David Bell, her face blushing with shyness.
"I came to see my beautiful fiancée," David Bell said with a smile, though the smile was provocative. He hadn't expected this woman to be so charming that someone would love her to such an extent.
"Hehe, do you think I look good?" Kayla asked with a smile.
"Let me see." After gently spinning Kayla around, David Bell whispered something in her ear, causing Kayla to burst into laughter.
It seems this man is not simple at all. Clearly, he doesn't love Kayla, yet he's pretending to be so fond of her now. Just thinking about it feels irritating.
This man is definitely doing it on purpose. If I had known he was like this, I wouldn't have told him anything. Damn it, I miscalculated.
