Chapter 1
Under the light, the man’s handsome face and alluring physique were enough to make any woman willingly fall for him.
The next day, in a luxurious hotel, a wedding envied by all women was being held.
"David, are you not leaving? I need to change into my wedding dress," Daisy said with a smile. This cold and ruthless man only showed his true self in front of her. She wondered what charm she possessed that made this man so enamored with her.
"No, I don't want to leave. I want to be with you forever; I can't bear to be apart from you for even a moment," he said, pulling Daisy into his arms possessively, savoring her scent.
"Fool, aren’t we about to get married? Soon, we’ll be together for a lifetime. Does it really matter if we’re apart for a few minutes while I change?" Daisy asked with a smile.
"I don't mind, but there’s nothing on your body I haven’t seen. Why be shy?" David Bell asked with a laugh.
"Fool, I’m not shy. Look, I haven't even done my makeup. If you stay here, they won’t dare disturb us. What am I supposed to do now?" Daisy said, a bit troubled.
"Alright, alright, I’ll let you go for now. Dress up nicely; I don't want anyone to say my wife is unattractive," David Bell said indulgently, pinching Daisy's cheek.
Daisy watched David Bell leave with a sweet smile, her heart brimming with joy. Today was the most important moment of her life; she was about to become the most beautiful bride.
For some reason, David Bell felt a bit uneasy, perhaps nervous about the upcoming wedding.
Daisy changed into her wedding dress and looked at herself in the mirror. She was amazed at how captivating she could be.
Thinking about spending a lifetime with the man she loved, her heart overflowed with sweetness.
Recalling their journey from meeting, to knowing each other, to falling in love, and now about to walk down the aisle, she felt an inexplicable excitement. She secretly vowed in her heart, "I will forget the past and live my life well now. I will be a good wife to David Bell, and I will bear a child for the Bell family."
Daisy's face radiated happiness, the most beautiful moment now. No wonder everyone says the bride is the most beautiful woman in the world.
"You seem very happy. It looks like you’ve been doing well without me. I must have underestimated you. Who would have thought you had the charm to marry the illustrious David Bell? Daisy, I truly underestimated you," a man suddenly appeared before Daisy.
"What are you doing here?" Daisy was a bit surprised. How did he come here, and more importantly, how did he get in?
The man’s deep eyes and handsome face remained as cold as ever, never knowing how to treat her gently.
"How I got here doesn’t matter. What matters is why I came," his piercing gaze made Daisy uneasy.
"Please let me go. Don’t treat me this way. Let me find my happiness," Daisy pleaded.
"You are mine, and your happiness lies only with me," the man growled softly. If there weren’t people next door, he would have loudly declared, "This woman belongs to me."
"We have already broken up. If you came to wish me well, I can accept that. But if you came to cause trouble, then please leave," Daisy said, a bit displeased. It was he who let her go; what did he mean by this now?
"Break up? Have you forgotten your promise? Let me tell you, Daisy Brown, unless I let you go, you cannot leave me. Can you really forget me, Daisy? Have you forgotten how we grew up together, how happy we were? Have you truly forgotten everything?" the man said passionately, holding Daisy in his arms.
"No, it’s not true. No, I don’t want to go back to the past. It was you who destroyed our family, and now you say such things to me. You deceived me, you harmed me. I have no way to deal with you, but today I am getting married. I just want to live my new life. Can we stop contacting each other? Let’s leave each other’s lives," Daisy pleaded. Just thinking about the past life, Daisy felt it was torment, a torture she never wanted to endure again.
"Hmph, since I came here today, I never planned to leave empty-handed. Since I could get in, I have a way to take you away. Let’s see how a wedding without a bride will proceed," the man knocked Daisy unconscious before she could react.
The man glanced at the wedding dress that pierced his eyes, and finally...
The entire wedding proceeded as planned, no one realizing the bride was missing.
The wedding officially began, but the bride was nowhere to be found.
David Bell rushed to the dressing room, seeing no one except for a note: "David, I'm sorry. Forgive my sudden departure. I never loved you. I hope you find happiness. Please forget me, as my happiness was never with you." Signed: Daisy.
David Bell looked at the note, his eyes burning with anger, enough to incinerate the paper. His rage was rising.
"Can someone tell me why the bride is missing?" David Bell’s icy voice echoed, making everyone step back.
"What is going on?" David Bell’s displeased voice rang out again. Why was no one answering? Why was Daisy missing? Could it really be as the note said? No, David Bell refused to believe it. This couldn’t be true.
The surrounding people could feel David Bell’s fury; everyone was praying that this wrath wouldn’t be directed at them, or they would be doomed, especially the makeup artists who had gone for a quick meal and returned to find the bride missing.
David Bell clenched the note tightly, unwilling to believe that Daisy had betrayed him.
"Find her immediately. If you can’t, don’t bother coming back." Heaven knows how much strength it took for David Bell to suppress his rage.
Seeing the confusion on the faces around him, David Bell's cold words floated out: "If anyone dares to leak even a word about today’s events, don’t blame me for being ruthless."
Without a backward glance, he left; he couldn’t stay another second. One more second and he would collapse.
Charles Bell, the father of the Bell family, followed behind, but seeing his son’s furious state, no one dared to move. How could such a thing have happened?
The guests were puzzled and bewildered, but with David Bell’s warning, no one dared to utter a word. They all wanted to live a few more years.
David Bell’s car sped to 200 mph. He couldn’t believe Daisy had left him like this. The note in his palm still there, she said she never loved him, that her happiness wasn’t with him. Realizing this, a tidal wave of anger surged within him.
By the time David Bell returned home, it was already evening. He had spent the afternoon visiting places he and Daisy had once been, hoping to find a clue, but in the end, he found nothing. Everything pointed to the fact that Daisy had truly betrayed him and eloped.
"Well?" David Bell’s icy tone terrified everyone.
"Sorry, young master, we’ve searched many places, but there’s no result," the man stammered, fearing for his life.
"Get out. Get out!" David Bell’s roar sent everyone scrambling out, thankful to be alive. As long as they were alive, it was enough.
David Bell couldn’t believe Daisy had left him. He walked step by step into the room, hoping Daisy would suddenly jump out, but she didn’t. It was just a dream.
He suddenly understood why he had been so uneasy; it was all a premonition. Why did Daisy say she would never leave him? If she said it, why didn’t she keep her promise?
"Daisy Brown, you lived so humbly by my side, fine, you chose to leave, you have guts. But I tell you, anyone who betrays me, David Bell, will not have a good ending. Even if you don’t love me, I will find you and make you suffer by my side." At this moment, David Bell was completely mad, transforming all his love into hatred. The deeper the hatred, the deeper the love. This statement fully reflected David Bell’s current state.
David Bell was not a heartless person. His mother had abandoned him when he was young, and he was raised solely by his father. He already had a poor impression of women, and Daisy’s betrayal made him utterly despair of them.
"David, can you accompany me tomorrow? You know how that boss always tries to grope me. Now that I’m yours, will you come with me?" the woman coyly asked, nestled in David Bell’s arms.
"Do you really want me to go?" David Bell wickedly asked, pinching the woman’s rosy bud.
"David, you’re so bad, it hurts when you pinch me. Of course, I want you to go," the woman replied sweetly.
"I’ll go, but you have to satisfy me," the man said, pressing down on the woman, and they began their passionate encounter.
There was no need to wonder who this woman was. She was none other than the most sought-after actress in idol dramas: Emily Davis.
The next day, Emily Davis walked into the banquet hall, holding David Bell’s arm. Seeing the envious and jealous glances from everyone, her vanity was immediately satisfied. This was the result she desired.
David Bell initially didn’t want to come, but considering that such gatherings could bring him some benefits, he decided to attend.
"Fiona, look, that’s David Bell. He’s my idol," Kayla said with a smile.
"You infatuated girl, how can you like such a playboy? Okay, he is handsome, and his style is impressive, but he’s too flirtatious and easily breaks women's hearts. I can’t handle such a man," Fiona replied.
"You only like bookish types, don’t you? You don’t understand; men like him are the real deal," Kayla said earnestly.
"What are you two talking about? Hurry up and get to work!" an excited woman ordered.
Fiona and Kayla hurried away.
"Maids dreaming of such men, how laughable," a woman said disdainfully, but her eyes remained fixed on David Bell. How could there be such a handsome man in the world? He was truly stunning.
David Bell’s presence at such gatherings always made him the center of attention. Needless to say, he was once again in the headlines.
"David, it’s time for you to settle down. Our Bell family needs you to continue the lineage. You can’t always be surrounded by those women," his beloved grandmother decreed.
"Grandma, I’m only 28. What’s the rush? Are you getting old? Give me a few more years," David Bell replied with a smile.
"Already 28, and you think you’re still young? I’m telling you, you must get married this year. Think about the new house I bought for you; it’s still empty. If you don’t bring a wife home soon, the house will collapse," Madison Garcia insisted, knowing her precious grandson had been hurt but believing it was time to move on and start anew. She couldn’t bear to see him live like this forever; she hoped to see him happy in her lifetime.
"Alright, alright, Grandma. Since you want me to find a wife, I’ll listen to you. Don’t you have many friends with daughters? Arrange something for me," David Bell said, trying to placate his endlessly chattering grandmother.
Sigh, three years had passed, and he still harbored deep hatred for that woman. He had spent a great deal of effort searching for her but to no avail. What was going on? Where had she gone?
"Really? That’s great, David. I know a girl you’ll definitely like," Madison Garcia said with a smile.
David Bell’s thoughts had already drifted far away, not hearing a word his grandmother was saying.
