Rights and Crush

Chapter 4

"You're the police, you know the situation. You know when criminals lie. You're good at prosecuting someone, right? And you can't talk to us until we have a lawyer to bring you. We have the right to remain silent, don't we? ?" I said long and he was like a candle that was going out where he was standing so he slid down to sit down.

There he seemed to realize their mistake. I could clearly see his face pale and his aura of courage disappeared. He also seemed ashamed of me because he was no longer silent. His mouth remained closed.

He should really be ashamed of me. He has been insisting on something that I didn't do. Why is his mind closed for my explanations?

Where did I become a thief? Just because I was caught earlier ''right when someone was chasing me?'' Seriously?

"Let me talk to her." I sat up straighter because I heard that familiar voice again. That I just heard too.

The policewoman just nodded and I thought that this man and I would only talk here but I was surprised when he suddenly pulled my elbow.

I immediately protested because I didn't want them to touch me. The man noticed that so I heard him sigh.

"Come with me," he ordered in a soft voice. I just followed him.

We entered a room, which was probably his office. It's beautiful inside and it also smells strange. It looks...coming from him. His office is very manly. I also saw a few certificates displayed on the walls. The size of his office with a sofa and a center table. It seems complete...

He let me in first and I went to the chair and sat there, I also waited for him to enter. I heard the door close behind me and his footsteps approaching. His presence is too heavy. Why is it?

I only got a good look at him when he sat across from me. Of course there was a table between us. He took a sip and opened a notebook. He was already holding his ballpoint pen and I knew he was about to start asking questions.

Before he could ask me, I immediately introduced myself. Something I didn't do to the policewoman earlier and even though I was in her presence, with a little nervousness in my chest, I just put on a brave face. Trying not to stutter too.

"My name is Jam Kirsten Celestial, 21 years old. I live in Tondo Saint. I'm still a student, I'm studying at Albison University," I introduced and she was stunned. I don't know if I'm just wrong when I saw his shock or if it's just my imagination?

"Is that enough information for you?" I fatly asked him and he stared at me. I bravely met his cold eyes.

"I was just going to ask you and I didn't say introduce yourself," he said bluntly.

"What's the difference between your asking and me introducing you?" I don't know where I got the courage to ask without actually being scared and stammering.

All I can think about is what they did to me earlier. I should just be mad at them even if they are police!

He let go of the ballpoint pen he was holding and I was shocked. I closed my mouth tightly because of the way he stared at me.

"Shut up. Because I won't hesitate to lock you up without listening to your complaint, just like before," he ordered coldly.

"I wouldn't be here if you didn't catch me, eh... You just saw me on the road earlier and you were still chasing that thief. Then you're going to catch me because you thought I was his accomplice? " I asked and even though it looked like I was getting angry, I didn't even forget to use the word po.

So I could clearly see the meeting of his eyebrows and he just raised an eyebrow at me in the end.

I looked at the digital clock attached to the wall of his office. It's almost 6PM. In just a few minutes, Dad will be on his way home or maybe on the way.

"I-I need to...go home early, Sir. My father will look for me. He will worry about me," I said and he just raised his eyebrows at me.

"That's it. Call your father for your release," he said and my eyes rolled. I shook my head because I didn't want Father Jasper to know this. That would worry him even more when he found out I was in the precinct.

"I-I can't, Sir..." I said. I squeezed my hand hard. It starts shaking again. My palm is cold. Then they still haven't removed the handcuffs from my wrist.

"Oh? How can you convince yourself that you're innocent? Hey, you couldn't call your Dad and when I talked to him now. You're just proving to me that you're one of those thieves," he still insisted to me .

"Call him." I closed my eyes tightly and sighed.

"P-How can I call him?" I will ask.

"Stupid. Use your phone." I looked away and swallowed violently.

"I don't have a cellphone," I said shyly.

"Seriously?" he asked me in disbelief. I bit my lower lip and saw that he followed it with a look. I sat up and his jaw tightened again. He was obviously annoyed with me.

"You can't get out of here without talking to your guardian," he ordered coldly. My forehead was wet because I felt like I was sweating because I felt the heat around me. Even though it's cold inside because of its air conditioner.

It was a long time before he spoke again and he handed me his cell phone. I stared at it and felt like I was afraid to touch it. It will obviously be loved because of its size and beauty. I just don't know what model his phone is.

"Call what you can call," he said without emotion.

I really don't want to tell Dad about this but I can't call him because he doesn't have a cell phone. Because that's not important. Alley also often lends me his phone when we do research on a subject, but I also often get information from the library.

Ah, Alley... I raised my hand and I wasn't too shy to reach for it, but when I was about to touch it, he moved his hand away.

My mouth slightly opened and my eyebrows met as I looked at him. He dropped his phone on his desk and stood up.

No words came out of his mouth when he held my hand. I was speechless because it seemed like he was about to remove my handcuffs.

Because of the contact of his hand on my skin, it was as if the wind was blowing my neck. I could feel its numbness and there was something about him. I felt like an electric shock.

"Uhm..." I said softly as he caressed my wrist because of the redness.

"Damn it," I heard him say cheaply and it was as if he was angry again as he returned to his seat.

I just took his phone to call Alley so I could go home and leave this place. I really need to get home, huh?

I frowned because I felt him staring at me and he even managed to put both of his elbows on his desk just to... I shook my head.

My hands did not cover his beloved cellphone. There is no password and it goes directly to his wallpaper. I hit my forehead because his face is close up here. My two eyes are clear. Yes, he is handsome and his uniform suits him.

I sighed and tapped on the keyboard. Good thing I didn't forget Alley's phone number.

I slowly put it to my ear and accidentally glanced at him. He's really looking at me, eh.

I only heard a few rings from the other line and I heard my friend's voice.

"Who's this?" Even over the phone, it is obvious that he is being aggressive.

"A-Alley, it's... This is Jam..." I stammered my name. I really stutter when someone stares at me face-to-face and doesn't even feel embarrassed...

He's just so...

"Alley? Wait... Whose phone is this? Did you buy it?" he asked one after the other.

"No... I-I just borrowed it... Could you come here with me, Alley? Are you doing anything right now?"

"Of course, nothing! Where are you? Are you back home? Or are you still at Uncle Jasper's shop?"

"No, nothing... I'm in... the precinct," I answered.

"Ah, just in the precinct what?! What are you doing there, Jam Kirsten?!" he asked in shock and I heard a loud noise in his background. I couldn't figure out what it was.

"Just go, please," I said.

"What happened, Jam? Did something happen to you? Is it bad? How did you end up there?! Didn't you tell me earlier that you were going to your Dad's shop?! What are you doing in that place? ?! I wish you had come with us earlier, eh!" I put my cellphone away because the loudness of his voice from the other line hurt my ears.

"I'll just explain here," I said.

"Oh, okay! Brother Asher, come with me! We're going to pick up my best friend from the precinct!"

"What? What happened to Jam?" I heard Kuya Asher's worried question.

"Just, Brother! Text me the address of the precinct." I did that and returned the policeman's cell phone.

He reached for it and I caught my breath when I felt his finger touch my hand.

It was like in those times that time slowed down because it took a while for Alley to arrive. It's really strange inside and even though the police are no longer looking at me, I still can't help it.

I waited like a year when Alley arrived with his Brother. When the door opened, they were immediately spit on and Alley entered, his eyes immediately focused on me.

"Jam, what happened?!" he asked me worriedly. I stood up because he suddenly greeted me with a hug.

"Alley..."

"Wait, Alced?"

"Asher."

"Brother Alked?"

Wait, do they know this police officer? Or is it correct to say that the three of them know each other?

Finally we were able to talk without forcing me anymore and Alley was next to me.

"Brother Alked. This is not the kind of person my best friend is. This is Dean's Lister and being a thief is not his future, maybe it could be your future, Alley said in a low tone. I elbowed him when he said the last thing.

They don't just know each other because they are cousins. They have the same mother, so the boy's last name is also different.

He is Alked Herran Fortalejo.

The police looked away from him and brother Asher just laughed.

"Release her, cousin. She's innocent. Are criminals like that these days? Beautiful and looking innocent?" I don't know why brother Asher seems to be teasing his cousin.

"Shut up, Asher."

"Or maybe, just crush him so you can catch him? Cousin, that's still young." My cheeks got hot because he was really joking.

I was still shocked when our eyes met. Why are his ears and cheeks red?
