Chapter 7: Sick

August 14, 2017

“Aley,” I hear Nora's voice whispering. “Alexander,” she whines quietly. I open my eyes slowly and look at her teary face.

“Nora,” I say quietly. “What’s wrong?” I start stroking her hair softly and notice the thing immediately. She's burning up, my shirt soaked from her sweat and hers isn't on anymore. “Oh baby,” I breathe out and kiss her forehead. “Shh, it's okay,” I whisper, trying to stop her from crying.

“Alex, can you take off your shirt? I'm cold,” she whispers. I nod, noticing the fact that we're already under a duvet and two thick blankets. I release her from my arms carefully and pull the shirt over my head, tossing it on the ground next to hers.

She climbs back against me, her arms moving around my torso and hugging me close to her. I wrap mine around her as well, pulling her half on top of me to give her more warmth. But the way her breasts are pressed against my chest makes me get aroused. I let out a small groan and she looks up at me with a smirk.

“Please tell me you're not doing this on purpose,” I say with a small smile, my penis erect against her thigh, her head on my biceps/shoulder.

“I’m not, I'm sorry if you're uncomfortable,” she says tiredly and I now notice how sick she sounds.

“I'm quite well,” I whisper. “Try to get some sleep, okay? You sound sick and we should call your parents in the morning.”

“It’s only 3 days left,” she frowns in the darkness. “I don't wanna go home.”

“You’ll be fine,” I say quietly and give her a soft kiss on her lips. After that she snuggles herself as into me as possible and finally stops the shaking.

I keep looking at the beautiful sick girl in my arms. I feel bad that she's sick. I feel bad that I'm not sick. Her parents will come and get her soon enough and she'll feel better though. But I feel bad that we'll stay here. When she's sick she just wants a good snuggle from anyone around. She usually picks me or Sophia, but she's fine with her sister and parents as well, she just wants to rest when she's sick.

I feel Nora shaking me and quickly sitting up and pushing herself to stand up. I open my eyes tiredly and see her running towards the bathroom. I frown worriedly and see that it's 6 am. I run after her and see her only in her pajama pants puking over the toilet. I take her hair carefully and start rubbing her back, making her relax a bit and let all of it out.

Once it's over, I hold her on her feet so that she could rinse her mouth and then help her walk back to her bed. She takes my shirt and pulls it on while I take my other one that she was wearing for sleeping and pull that on. I tuck her into the bed, and squat down next to it, she looking at me, looking exhausted.

“I’m gonna go and get the nurse, okay? You just relax, we'll be back soon.” She nods and I give her a kiss on her burning forehead and see that Sophia has woken up and is now tiredly sitting on her bed.

“What's wrong?” she asks with a worried face, pushing her up.

“She's sick. I'm gonna go get the nurse, good that Daniel isn't here tonight,” I murmur. She sighs and nods, sitting down on Nora's bed and starting to stroke her bestie's hair softly. I smile thankfully and go to get the nurse.

“Hi honey,” Mary says with a soft smile to Nora and Nora hugs her immediately, her face hiding into her shoulder. “How are you feeling?” she asks quietly.

“Nauseous,” she murmurs. “I'll get sick in the car.”

“It's okay, we can take breaks,” she says sweetly and Nora smiles at that a little and nods.

She looks back at me and I widen my arms for her to get in them. She gives me a small smile as well and comes back to me, hugging me back, her face in my shirt, breathing me in. I kiss her cheek softly and undo my arms from around her to untie the flannel from around my hips. I give it to her and she smiles, hogging it to her chest. I rest my hands on her shoulders and kids her forehead softly. “Get better, okay? I'll be there in a few days,” I murmur against it and she nods, my lips brushing over her hairline. I feel bummed I can't go at the moment, but I get why she has to. Even though it's hard to apart from her after we've discovered that our bodies love each other just as much as souls do. “I love you.”

“I love you too,” she sighs into my shoulder and looks up and pecks my lips.

Mary gives me a quick hug. “Thanks, Alex.”

“Yeah,” I say with a sad one.

She chuckles at my face and shakes her head a little. “You'll be home in four days and I promise, you can stay over.” That makes me smile more and she kisses my forehead, not caring that I'm taller. “Bye.”

“Bye,” I smile a little and she goes to the car. I see Nora struggling with the seatbelt as her hands are weak, but Mary quickly helps her fasten it and then they're gone.

I sigh and head back inside our camp. The girls are over at our room, which makes me sigh again as I flop down onto my bed.

“She okay?” Sophia asks worriedly. They would've gone outside too, but Nora didn't want it to be a big scene and already some of the teenagers saw that she had to leave.

“I hope so,” I mumble, pulling my hand over my face in frustration. Of course she's with her family and all, but I'm still worried.

“We went to the doctor and I got medicine,” I hear Nora saying in my phone.

“So it's not just a regular fever? You actually needed medicine for it?” I ask worriedly.

“Yeah,” she sighs. “And my mom and dad had to go out of town which they didn't want to do, but your parents said they had to get the work done so now I'm just lounging around in the trailer on the couch and on your bed, cuddling Sausage,” she says tiredly.

I chuckle sadly. “I’ll be home tomorrow, maybe you can lounge on my bed in your underwear when I come,” I tease and hear her giggling at that.

“Maybe I will,” she teases back, making me get a little aroused and hard.

“Stop,” I chuckle and hear her giggling again, making me smile and sigh. “I miss you.”

“I know, you keep saying it.” I hear the smile in her voice.

“Well I keep feeling it,” I murmur.

“Aley, can you talk to me until I fall asleep?” she asks tiredly.

“Yeah,” I say quietly. I start talking what we've been up to and what I wanna do before the school starts in a month. And I tell her just a few stories from when we were kids and when I don't get an answer after that, I realize she's asleep.

“Goodnight, Norey, I’ll see you tomorrow” I say quietly. “I love you.” I add with a sigh and then end the call.

“Honey, do you need anything else?” I hear my mom asking as me and dad enter the trailer.

“I'm fine, stop worrying,” Nora says from my room. Dad goes there and I follow him immediately.

I smirk and stop on the door as he ruffles her hair. “Hey kid. You feeling better?” He squats down next to my bed where Nora's at.

“I’m fine,” she says again, looking annoyed and really pale.

“You okay?” I ask, moving to her now too.

“Can you stop?” she groans and that makes her cough hysterically. I look at my mom worriedly and she nods to me, telling that she's at least doing better.

I move to my bed and Nora takes my hand, trying to pull me down on the bed next to her. Her arms are weak, but I lie down next to her myself and pull her on top of me, making her giggle. “I'm gonna puke all over you,” she says with a proud voice and a smirk, resting her head onto my chest, lying her stomach on mine.

“I don't mind,” I say quietly and kiss her forehead. “Seriously though. How are you feeling?”

“Better than the last time I talked to you,” she murmurs with a blaming tone.

I chuckle. “I’m sorry, baby, they took my phone away so that I'd actually do something else than just mope around or text you.”

“At least I don't have to have FOMO, knowing you didn't have good time either,” she mumbles with a small smile, looking up at me now.

“Mean,” I sigh, making her smile bigger. I lean down and wanna kiss her, but she pushes my head away and hides her face into my chest, making me groan and my parents who I forgot about chuckle. “Even more mean,” I pout, making Nora my parents I had forgotten about chuckle.

“I’m not letting you get sick,” she mumbles into my chest.

“You're literally on top of me right now,” I say. She looks up at me, frowns and wants to roll down. I stop her, holding her even tighter and kiss her nose. “I don't care. Your mom said I can stay over at your place anyways, so…”

“Mary said that?” dad smirks.

I nod, looking at him. “Can you please go now?”

They both smirk and look at each other, making me sigh. My mom points her finger at Nora. “You’re sick.”

“I can feel that,” she murmurs with a smirk, her cheek resting on my chest now. They nod and go out of the room, closing the door behind us. I lean a little down and look at Nora's face. She smiles up at me tiredly.

“You wanna take a nap?” I ask.

“Yeah,” she sighs and pecks my lips quickly. “I love you and I'm happy you're home.”

“Me too,” I whisper against her ear, feeling her dozing off already.
