Chapter 6

"Just like you, I hide my feelings from you, just like you, I avoid because Shiela is in love with you. I-I don't want to hurt her, Kyler. "He'll be hurt more if he forces himself on me, he'll be hurt more if I can't give him the love he wants." It said emphatically.

He took my hand and brought it to his cheek. "Please Kayla, give me a chance." He closed his eyes and whispered.

"But it's Shiela, she loves you."

"But I don't love her." He said it angrily. "You trade your happiness for the happiness of others?"

I cried because of what he said.

"Hey Kayla." He said as if he was very tired. He pulled me and locked me in his arms. I could hear the strong beating of his heart.

I'm happy that he likes me back but I'm a little sad because what about Shiela? It might ruin our friendship, I don't want that to happen.

Still Mikayla

When I got home, I immediately went straight to my room. I dropped myself and buried my face and screamed. I want to express my feelings. I wanted to scream earlier but I couldn't scream because my friends at home would be shocked.

I looked at the bracelet I was wearing with a smile. Until now I can't believe what happened earlier and Kyler and I are still one! He is already my boyfriend!

But I have a condition. We need to keep our relationship a secret. At first he really didn't want it, I just forced him. First we need to talk to Troy and Shiela thoroughly. We will first think of something to say so as not to offend them.

I smiled even more when I saw Kyler calling, I immediately answered it.

He laughed. "What are you excited about? Go to sleep, you might wake up late again. Do you want me to pick you up?"

"No, I'll see you at school. And take note of what we talked about."

"I love you too, good night too."

I took a deep breath and fell asleep with a smile on my face.

"Good morning!" I happily greet Kuya and Kuya Froilan who are already eating breakfast. "Aunt?" I will ask.

"Is it a miracle that you woke up early?" Said Kuya Froilan.

"Of course I don't want you to be late for your class." I said.

"You look happy, where are you from, why did you come home late? Maybe you went on a date or something." Kuya said "No."

I snorted and nodded. This is also one of the reasons why I want to keep it a secret, because my sister doesn't want me to have a boyfriend.

"The bracelet is beautiful." Kuya Froilan paid attention to what I was wearing.

"I bought it yesterday." I said.

"And the headband?"

"Of course."

They just continued to eat.

When I arrived at the school, I immediately saw Kyler leaning against a tree, smiling while looking at me.

I looked around me, there weren't many people because it was still early. I smiled at him and stepped closer to him "Kyler!"

Kyler's loud call made me stop. Shiela, she's here already. I thought it would be late because that's what he told me.

He ran closer to Kyler. I haven't noticed yet. Kyler's happy expression suddenly turned serious looking at Shiela who was now clinging to his arm.

I bowed down.

I have to be patient especially since they don't know the truth yet. It's my choice to keep so I just have to endure what I see today and the next day.

"Oh Mikayla, there you are!" Shiela said when she noticed me.

I smiled as if there was no problem before approaching them.

"I was here a while ago, you passed me by. You didn't even greet me." I said.

"Oh really, I'm sorry. My bad." He said and hugged me.

I looked at Kyler who was looking at me sadly I'm okay.' I mouthed.

Still Mikayla

"Can we talk later?" I asked Troy.

"Of course."

I heard Kyler snicker in the background, he stepped between us and put his arm around both Troy and me. "Don't we have to go to the guidance council? They'll tell us something." This is Troy.

"Yes, what? Come on, there must be someone there." Troy said. "Later Mikayla." He told me with a smile.

Kyler turned to me and smiled, and caressed my arm. I raised him with those. He let go of me and he and Troy walked away.

"You know what, I was looking at your bracelet a while ago." Shiela said to me. He held my hand and I could see his amazement. "Nice." He exclaimed.

"Don't say you'll take it again?"

We looked at Val who had just arrived.

"Where did you buy it?" He asked me, ignoring what Val said. I said where and I also said that this is the last one, they don't have a collection. "Too bad, I still want it. Can it be mine? Give it to me."

What? "You're terrible Shiela, are you just going to buy everything from Mikayla, it looks like she just bought it, oh, that's too much. You can buy something else." There was annoyance in Val's tone.

I smiled and nodded. He smiled and hugged me.

"What drama is this?" Tyra asked.

"No, too jealous—." I elbowed Val so he wouldn't continue what he was going to say.

"Let's go in." I said.

"Don't always give in." Val whispered to me as we walked. "Maybe the next person to ask for that is your boyfriend."

I looked at him in shock. "What? I don't have a boyfriend." I whispered.

"I mean he might as well take whoever becomes your boyfriend."

Ah okay, I thought he knew something.

"He's too much of a brat, his attitude is far from you. I just put up with him." He said it angrily.

"I'll go ahead of you." Shiela said after getting her food order, Tyra and Val were also at the table because they were also first, I was late.

"What do you want to eat?"

I was even surprised by Kyler's sudden appearance behind me.

"You choose wisely Kyler, don't interject." I whispered.

"I know, I just approached you to ask what you want to eat." He said. He secretly put something in my hand. "Use my card, I'll use cash." He whispered. I was about to return it but he had already gone to Ken, they were in the back line.

I ordered and used Kyler's card. The cashier looked at me curiously. He must be wondering why I'm using Kyler's. I just smiled at him.

We haven't eaten yet, we waited for the boys to eat together. Because we don't want anyone to be late. I jumped when I saw them coming towards us. I was just happy because Kyler sat next to me. Troy was definitely taken first.

"You know Kyler? I talked to your mom, you know what she said? She said we shouldn't break up because she would be sad." Shiela said that I stopped, I also felt that Kyler was stunned.

"What? Why are you and Kyler already? Why don't we know?" Ken asked.

"No! But it's close, Auntie thought we were—."

"Because that's what you said." My boyfriend said seriously. "Did you say anything else?"

"It's gone, aunt said you'll marry me, that's what you said."

I caught my breath.

"What?!" Kyler exclaimed in disbelief. "That's insane." He whispered, I was the only one who heard. "I'm not telling him anything." This is it.

Kyler lowered his hand, I felt his hand on my side. I lowered my hand and he grabbed it and squeezed it. We hold hands while eating.

He tries to let go of Kyler's hand because Val has dropped something and he has to pick it up. He didn't want to let go, but when he saw Val bow down, he just let go.

Maybe he lost sight of him. I breathed a sigh of relief because from Val's appearance, he didn't see anything.

"Your mommy is sending me to you guys. So I'm going with you because that's where I'm going to have dinner." Shiela said.

I didn't know that he and Kyler's mom were close, and she thought they were lovers. I felt a little pain in my heart again.

"I will talk to him." I said to Kyler, we're at the far end of the library right now because not many people go here.

"I will talk to Shiela too, I have to explain to her what we have." It said. It held my hand. "I'm sorry sweetheart, I didn't think he would say that earlier, I didn't know he and mommy were talking I caressed the cheek. "It's okay, the important thing is that I know you love me."

"If only we tell the truth, so mommy will know that you are really my girlfriend."

I shook my head. "No not now, not now." I whispered. "And one more thing, no matter what Shiela does to you or whatever she says, I won't be jealous."

I took my cell phone out of my bag because someone texted me. Troy.

"Troy is looking for me." I said. "Maybe Shiela is looking for you too, go ahead and go see her." I said. He kissed me on my forehead and on my cheek before he left first.

I went to the court where I will talk to Troy. I stopped when I saw him sitting at the top while watching others play. Maybe he can understand me.

I went to him smiling but I felt a little nervous. I will hurt her with what I say.

"Kyler?" This is a question.

"Huh? "Someone told me that you two are together. Where is he?"

"ah he went to see Shiela."

"He should date Shiela, after all, his mommy wants him for her."

Ouch.

"Troy I wanted to tell you something."

He faced me, waiting for what I had to say "Stop courting me." I said and I saw a pain in his eyes.

Oh I'm sorry Troy.

"Look I don't want to hurt you, I'll hurt you more if you continue flirting because there's nothing..." I removed the blockage from my throat. "I really don't want anything from you. I really only consider you a friend, I can only give you friendship."

He looked away. I bowed and waited for him to speak.

"Is there really no hope for you to love me?" He asked, looking in another direction "I'm sorry."

"Are you in love with someone?" He asked and then he looked at me.

I nodded.

"Okay." He said almost in a whisper. "That's why you can't turn your attention to me because you love someone else." He said sadly. "Is that man in love with you?"Y-yes."

"Who is he?"

"Troy I'm so sorry."

"It's okay, at least you said you wanted someone else. I'll go first." He said and tried to smile. I just followed him, he stopped and looked at me. "Make sure the man you love won't hurt you." He said and left completely.

I blew out air. I can expect him to ignore me and I can also expect him to stay away from me because I hurt him.

How about Shiela? Can she accept that Kyler loves someone else?

My gosh "Are you alright?"

I looked up. It's Val and Tyra.

"I'm okay."

"What happened?"

"I rejected him again."

"Ohhh." That hurts. "There's nothing we can do. He just has to accept it, he can't force you, and you can't give your sweet yes if you don't like him, can you?" Tyra's language.

I held my breath. The two hugged me smiling.
