CHAPTER 11 :

He and I walk back to our assigned seats as we flop down on the leather seats.

"Nicole!" I half scream as she scrambles in the cabin. I point towards my fallen champagne flute and she nods as she picks it up. She turns her back and leaves.

"Can you not pick up a glass by your own?" Lucas mutters as I arch an eyebrow.

"I have people assigned for every job." I give him a wicked grin. Lucas gives me a you-are-spoiled look and I can't help my smile. I quickly rummage out a shirt from my suitcase as I put it on and leave 4 buttons undone.

"In, er…which hotel are we gonna stay?"

"Good point. Let me text Luke." While I text Luke, our pilot announced that the plane will land in 10 minutes.

//Luke, book me a room in the best hotel in Los Angeles//

//It's all done, sir. The name is, The Ritz-Carlton. The room is 492//

Fine, now that's handled. Good job, Luke is a man of many talents. He's a great find. Lucas is peering outside the window, as the golden glaze of the sun falls on my body and I flinch. Shit, the sun is up.

I pull the shutter of the window down. Ah, no more sunlight.

"I was enjoying the view." Lucas frowns, his eyes narrowed.

"Uh, fine." I pull up the shutter back again.

"So, which hotel we stayin' at?" He asks me, still looking out of the window.

"The Ritz-Carlton. Room number 492" I say, as I toy with the daylight ring on my finger. That's when realisation hits me. Shit, Luke's only booked one room. If Lucas has no problem staying with me, then I can watch him sleep.

"Lucas. Luke has booked only one room." He looks at me and smirks.

"I can live with that." He grins. Woah, game on.

The announcement of the pilot brings me back to the real world. "Godfrey corporation flight 4432, ready to land. Please put on your seatbelts." Ugh, fine.

I lazily put on my seatbelt and so does Lucas. When I see the runway approaching, the wheels of the flight hit the ground with a jerk. Pretty nice landing,eh. Lucas clasps my hand and squeezes it hard. What gives?

I shoot him a questioning look.

"I'm scared of the take off and landing." He clarifies.

"That's okay. Hold me tighter if you want to." I grin. And finally, the plane comes to a halt. I take my suitcase down, as we come out of the jet. Luke is standing near an Audi SUV. This man never disappoints.

Lucas and I get in the car.

"Luke, to the hotel."

"Yes, sir."

After a drive of couple of minutes, we're at the hotel. I check in as I get into room number 492.

Woah, the room is spacious and big. It has a glass wall, which allows a full view of the cities. A medium sized bathroom carved with white marble tiles and an additional smoker room, which is cozy and accomodating. And a large black glass table in the middle of the room.

The whole room is made of shades of brown and black. The floor is made of dark hardwood, which complements the black blocks of tiles on the walls and some abstract paintings hanging on them. Lastly, there's a huge golden chandelier in the middle of the room. It's perfect.

Lucas admires the beauty of the room and then we both spot that there's a king sized bed in the room. Only one bed. Okay, let's end this charade.

"Lucas, you sleep on the bed, I'll manage with the couch." I point towards the brown leather couch.

"It's the other way around. You on the bed, and me on the couch." He narrows his eyes.

Lucas, don't do this.

"Listen, Mr. Carter, I didn't ask for your opinion. I simply stated that you'll sleep on the bed, and me on the couch." He gapes at me, then his facial expression changes to something unreadable.

"Fine, fine. Can I negotiate?" He seethes through his gritted teeth. Why is he so pissed about this?

"Bring it on." I say, throwing a challenge.

"We can, you know, adjust in the bed. It's not like the bed is small for two." He points towards the bed.

Now, that's a deal which I despise and like at the same time. I don't trust myself, so I despise it and I get to sleep with him, so I like it.

"Now, that sounds good." The words are out of my mouth before I could comprehend why I said them. I don't know where this is gonna go.
