I passed by my brother, ignoring his face of few friends, if he wanted to flatter the lying witch was his problem, I would not condone it.

My people were happy, there was no denying it, finally we could live as a united pack again, as it had been years ago. The exile was over. But at what cost?

I had accepted that the curse would never be broken by me, I vowed never to touch a virgin woman. So I had gone the opposite way, went against everything and everyone to never get close to an innocent girl.

"Quanah!" I heard Peta call me, he was my brother and although he looked so much like me physically, we couldn’t be more different in everything else.

"What is it, brother? I have very important things to do as Alpha." I grumbled rolling my eyes with those words, anything would be good to keep that traitor away.

"You can’t treat her like that, the girl was just as used as you and look at how she’s acting!"

I turned around with his words and saw Bridget helping to take care of the wounded. My people were there wounded because everyone ran to protect her.

Her red hair fell like a red waterfall, covering her face, as she helped bandage one of my men’s arms. Seth widened his smile with something she said and I sharpened my ears to hear what they were saying.

"They were nothing. We would have ended up with another horde of them."  Seth said looking more than enthusiastic about the crow attack.

"Still, I really appreciate what you did, you risked your life for me. You don’t even know me." her voice was friendly and even without seeing I could tell she smiled at him.

"You helped break the curse, my ancestors talked about it, we waited for many years." he reached out to her. " My name is Seth."

"Bridget, my name is Bridget."

Watching the scene from afar I couldn’t stop thinking that this should be the natural course of things, she should have gotten involved with someone her age, just like Seth.

At the age of thirty-five, I was fifteen years older than her. Which reinforced my thinking that she knew what she was doing sneaking into my bed. She knew what she needed to do to help our people and did not hesitate.

"I know, you and your baby are famous." so the bold kid tilted his head getting closer to her. " Don’t be surprised if everyone here decides to protect you."

Seth was feeling confident, because he took his fingers to her hair and didn’t think twice before attaching a lock behind his ear.

"Quanah! Brother!" Peta’s heavy hand held my shoulder bringing me back to our conversation. "Are you deaf or what? I had to call you several times."

"Stop pissing me off for a second. Don’t you have anything more useful to do?"

"I’m just taking care of it, at least your son’s well-being matters to you. So tell me at once, where will Bri be staying?"

Bri? He called her that? My eyes returned to her, easily finding the fiery hairs among the flustered crowd, the light blue eyes, like the purest water, found mine and she stood in place.

"Put her where you want, but keep everyone away! That’s a warning, whoever approaches her will suffer the consequences!"

So I got out of there right away, I couldn’t bear to look at that girl too long! She represented everything I hated, witch, a virgin girl, the list was long. But that didn’t stop my body from burning in desire for her.

"Say it at once!" I ordered without much patience, was not in patience for anything today.

"Peta said we won’t open while Bridget is in danger, until everything is settled we can’t let anyone unknown approach the perimeter."

"He what?" If my brother was thinking that we would change the routine here, just because of the witch, he was very mistaken. " But I’m telling you, let’s do the total opposite. Today I want to see this house crowded and if he thinks it’s so dangerous, he can turn her bodyguard!"
