6. Watch Me: Anna Michelle

Growing up, Mish had always been a perfect baby sister. Obedient, kind, soft-spoken, and just an overall darling. Whatever her sisters said, she followed them. To a tee. Never want to argue or cause chaos.

Due to health complications, she almost kept to herself growing up. Her best friends were Anna and Rie. She didn't want anyone else.

Until she began dreaming of HIM.

Nope. She promised herself. No more Prince Charming. Forgetting him would be the best option. The only setback was she had to be by herself. For a time.

How?

The how was not easy but she made it.

When she woke up, the mansion was empty. A servant informed her that Alexander and Anna were attending a business meeting at The Mark and of course Michael and Alexandria went with them. Her sister Rie was also out with the Dragon King.

That was when she began to plot. This was a rare opportunity.

She won't be leaving her family permanently, she just needed to be alone for a few days. A week at the most.

How to escape her guards? It was quite challenging. Though not that much. The vampires were asleep and won't be up until the sun sets, which would be at least two hours from now. She will have a headstart.

She only had to deal with the lycan guards and she had an idea.

Mish never knew she had it in her. -Well, desperate times call for desperate measures.-

She was quite upset she had to lie to Frank, the head of security but she needed to. Grimacing, she continued walking. Where was she exactly?

It was getting dark, resting in a hotel at this time would be a great idea before her bodyguards realized she was not at the spa anymore.

She knew she was somewhere in Upper Manhattan to be exact. And she had always passed by a nice hotel on her way to school. Ritz-Carlton. Yes!

Hailing a cab -thanked God she got one right away- Mish immediately got inside and informed the driver of her destination. She glanced at the small bag in her hands which only contained a wallet and some necessities. Does she have any cash though? Inspecting through her belongings, she found a few hundred dollar bills and numerous credit cards. Okay. She will survive.

No clothes. Tomorrow, she will take care of that problem. Going out would be risky, so she would have to order online and have her purchases delivered.

Mish watched the scenery she passed by. The sky had darkened. Her family will be worried. Guilt plagued her. She took a deep breath. Tears pricked her eyes. Hoped they understand. She needed to be alone and she didn't want to see their pity. It will only hurt her even more. The letters she left for them will explain everything.

Alexander

"I really hate deceiving my sister." His beautiful queen grumbled beside him. Glancing down, he watched irritation clouding her amber depths.

He tightened his arm on her tiny waist.

"I know, mia anima. We all do. And as a family, we will fix this." His men held the door open for them and they entered their elegant hotel. The Mark. Humans and supernatural gathered here often. It was neutral ground.

"And I really despise how the women smell here." Alexander suppressed his smirk. That was her wolf talking. Human females were giving off pheromones, aroused from the sight of numerous lycan males. Including him and Michael. And his Queen was being territorial. He loved it.

He stopped and gathered her in his arms. His people stopped too. Not minding their audience, he nuzzled his face on her neck, inhaling her sweet scent lustily, Anna arched towards him, barely suppressing her moan. "Yours is the only scent I'd want for the rest of my life."

His words instantly vanished the pout from her lips. He pressed a gentle kiss, more of a promise, and hers curved in a soft smile. -That's more like it.- "Later." She murmured. Eyes glinting. Her wolf was also enjoying the moment.

-Fuck, yes!- Later. His wolf purred. Sending him images which he shared with Anna. Her smile widened. His cock stirred. "Come on, baby girl, before I ravished you here."

Giggling, she pecked his lips and tugged him towards their private dining area. Her relaxed aura vanished when she saw Xavier, the Vampire King waiting.

-I swear if he hurt my sister again, I'm going to bite his head off.-

-Give him a chance, baby girl. Please.-

-Okay. For you.-

Alexander scowled when his mate moved out of his arms and greeted Olivia. The women embraced while the men waited for them to exchanged pleasantries. Only the Dragon King and Rie were absent. He planned to check on them later before his queen got worried. A lot has come on his plate lately, it doesn't matter as long as he has Anna.

"Xavier," Approaching his friend, they shook hands and clap each other on the backs, just like old times. He gestured for him to take a seat while he escorted his mate to the empty seat on his left and waited for everyone to settle.

The Vampire King looked the same as yesterday when they all first saw him after his forced hibernation. Brooding, tensed, angry -most probably at himself- and with a deep-seated sadness in his ice-blue eyes.

In deference to her king, Anna remained silent. Observing. Alexander was thankful. She had always been a trusting mate. They were all at attention, waiting for Xavier to speak.

"Thank you, Alexander, Anna, my friends, for giving me this opportunity. What I did yesterday was uncouth, I deserved all your anger. What I did before that was inexcusable. I came to my beloved as soon as I woke up and I used the portal," they all held their breath at his revelation. Fuck! The fucking portal was dangerous at this time. Alexander immediately mind-linked his lycan army to surround his estate and guard his twins and Anna Michelle. "I made sure to close it firmly so the evil witch won't be able to trace it." He continued. His cold eyes still guarded.

His Lycan Queen tensed even more. She was controlling her wolf.

"What are your plans regarding my sister, Vampire King?" Anna questioned. Barely suppressing her rage. Alexander pressed her hand to reassure her.

"Queen Anna, I'm aware I deeply deserve your hostility. But, I want you to know, I love Mish. She is my beloved. My heart and soul. Being apart from her was hell. The pain was tremendous. Every minute of every day for two years she was all I dreamed about. The way I acted yesterday...I was afraid. I was a fool to think she would reject me." The misery in his voice shook them all.

Fuck! It took a lot from a king to admit that. His friend had the gumption to do so.

"What are you going to do about it now? I don't want to deceive my sister anymore. I'm sure we all agree."

Xavier nodded. "I want to tell her myself. But I will need time. Time to woo her. Time to start all over. What I'm asking is a chance to do right by her. I can't lose my beloved. She is my world."

Alexander watched his lycan queen ponder for a minute, then she nodded. "I understand the power of the mate bond. My mate is my world too. Okay. Do whatever it takes to win her back. Rie and I won't object. We will support you. I'm sure my royal beta, Alexie, and your sister Olivia will help as well." Goddess! It was so heady to watch his queen take over. And to hear her reaffirm their love...He couldn't wait to get home and let her ride him until he was drained.

Alexander, Michael, and Oliver sat back and listened to their lovely ladies planned with Xavier. From picnic to dinner dates, opera, and musicals to stroll in the parks and gardens...hmmm...there's some merit there. It had been a long time since he and Anna went on a romantic date. He glanced at the silent men at the table and snorted. They were listening attentively as well.

-Sire-

--Frank, is the area secure?--

-Yes, sire. I have also advised the head of Vampire security.-

--Good. And my heirs and Mish?--

-Her Majesty is at the spa, sire. The princess and prince and the beta heir are with their nannies in the indoor playroom. Baxter is watching over them.-

Alexander frowned. His sister-in-law never went to their spa alone. She was always with the ladies.

--Be on standby. Give me a minute.--

-Yes, my king.-

"Anna, my love," everyone quieted down. His mate looked at him expectantly. "Do you have an appointment at the royal spa today?"

Anna and Alexie exchanged a glance. Puzzled. "No. We always go on Sundays so Rie could join us. Why?"

"Because Mish is there..." He paused. His queen was shaking her head vehemently. Her eyes filled with worry.

"My sister will never go there alone. Ever since the attack, for some reason, her mind has retained the trauma, she would never stay in a room without someone she knew. She only felt safe in our house and nowhere else." He watched her lips tremble.

Xavier was on his feet right away. "Oliver contact her guards now."

--Frank, check on the Vampire Queen now!--

-At once, sire.-

The Vampire King was ready to leave. So were they. "She ran away. I can feel it. I'm going to find her." Panic and at the same time determination laced his heavily accented voice.

They all agreed, understanding Xavier's urgency. Hopefully, he will make their reunion right this time.
