Bad girls do it better pt 4

"What are you trying to say?" he asked quietly.

"You know how it goes for people like us, Ronnie. Once you take me home, you'll have to go home. No. More. Fun. For either of us," she answered.

"And let me guess: you have the solution to our little conundrum," he said, sitting down on the edge of the bed.

Eyes still as dark and terrifying as the moment he entered her. Assassin. Dangerous. Not his usual. Not within his control. She could have knocked him out by now and ditched him if it pleased her.

Aaron had something else she wanted. Maybe the very thing she gave him. The thing that made him screw her in a restaurant full of people. Courage.

"I sure do. A few more days with me," she said smoothly. "Sex optional," she added with a shrug as she pulled her panties down.

He laughed. Those last two words were wasted breath. He was no stranger to naked women throwing themselves at him. She didn't need to get naked to convince him though. The darkness in her soulless eyes called out to him.

Too late did he realize her state of undress was actually to distract him from asking for crucial information, like what she had in mind for the next few days.

Maybe she already had everything planned before she sat down across from him earlier that night. Maybe she was just winging it. Either way, she won him over. Got him stuck on making her scream. On thinking of nothing else.

"We both know if I'm going to spend time with you, the only thing that's going to be optional is clothes," he said at last, deciding he didn't really care what else they were doing as long as it included him doing her.

Here, thousands of miles from home, he could spend the night with her. No one would bat an eye. Even if they did, what could they do about it?

(Three months later — New York)

The first week was rough. It included seeing Aria, Troy and little Ethan. It sucked and should have been reason enough to be glad to be rid of Keira.

But then they got to Imperium and Aaron saw the same thing in her that he felt before they got together. Fear of being home. He just sat there in the car, feeling unsettled about returning home himself.

When she came running out ten minutes later, flinging a backpack over her shoulder, he was more than happy to be her getaway driver.

Now here they were, three months later, having snuck into The MET after hours.

"No kissing rule is still in effect," she said, when he pulled her close.

"I know, I know. You fell in love with me the moment your lips took mine for the first time," he said in jest, grinning at her as he trailed behind her.

He joked like that all the time. They both knew why. If he took her too seriously, they'd have to have the talk. When would they stop running from their lives? How would their little fling end?

Three months ago, they knew the answers to those questions. One night. Three days. One week. One month. Somewhere in the midst of all that they stopped pretending to care.

He pinned her against the wall between two paintings, then spun her around. Every time he took off her panties in places like this, she saw the folly of her rule. Kissing was hardly their biggest problem. Still she held onto it until she was too far gone. Until she was dizzy with pleasure.

As he flattened her against the wall, got her body more worked up with each thrust, Aaron contemplated the rationale of the no kissing without sex rule. Most women had a no sex without kissing rule. That he got. This was ludicrous.

Didn't she know the stupid rule inevitably led to her being taken, frequently, in the most inconvenient of places? Which, in turn, got Aaron decidedly more and more stuck on her with each passing day.

He knew it would happen this way from the moment he saw her at his table that night. Tried to leave. To get away. As he tilted her head over her shoulder to slip his tongue into her mouth, he realized it all over again.

He should have tried harder.
