Aviena's POV
I'm done getting ready to go outside for the meeting with the wedding planner.
"We're going to meet the wedding planner today, Big Sister," I said from the other line because Big Sister keeps on asking.
“Alright. Just let me know. Won't you even invite me there to your house?" she asked me. Recently, Big Sister keep on asking me to invite her to come here to River's mansion but I couldn't tell River yet. He was often busy at work and we were irritated with each other.
“Yes, Big Sis. I'll invite you when I have already talked with River. ” She didn't say anything as if he was no longer happy with me. As I said, it's really only a month for her to be kind. Look at her pestering me now.
After we talked, I went down. I thought Veron will be the one coming with me because she's the one I've been with these past few days but my lips parted when River was waiting for me outside. We were in the same room but he couldn't even tell me. Anyway, he doesn't even sleep there. I'm sure he's sleeping in Marissa's room. I sometimes think that he's really shameless. Taking advantage of his girlfriend is here.
"I'll come with you today," he said so I smiled. He said that Marissa will come with us as well. That's the reason why I think.
“Oh, you still know me? And you're even going to come now, huh?” I was laughing and was about to enter his car when he opened the door for the front seat when Marissa suddenly entered. I was a little surprised but I just smiled. Why am I still expecting something from him?
"It's fine if I'll come with you today?" Marissa asked. You are already seated in the front seat. Now she's still asking.
I just shook my head before distracting myself with some work. I tried to promote some products on ig. I was just posting to the camera when they noticed the look on my face. I smiled. Why should I be ashamed? This is my job. A job that gives me food on the table.
Marissa sneezed before turning to River, I don't know if the smirk on her lips was insulting or what. I couldn’t help but frown.
We soon reached the beach where the wedding will take place. The wedding planner was already there and waiting for us.
I greeted him with a smile. He also greeted Marissa and River.
We will just continue talking about things we already plan. We started talking while Marissa and River were talking.
"The wedding reception will be here so that the sea is clearly visible," the wedding planner explained to me. I nodded and agreed.
"Blue is the color theme?" Marissa asked so we turned to her.
"That's ugly." My lips widen a little bit.
"Marissa." I don’t know if there is a threat in River’s voice because when it comes to Marissa his voice is always soft. I just don't know if it's just my imagination or what.
“No, it’s fine. You can suggest anything. ” I even smiled at her. I know that I was irritated with River but not with Marissa. Maybe she's just coping with this asshole.
I also stared at Marissa, she seems so authentic with what she was suggesting. About the design of the venue.
"Marissa, let her decide." I even heard River whisper to her.
“I told you it's fine. To make our wedding easier. I don't have to worry anymore,” I said with a smile but I could see River frowning at me as if I had said something bad. I frowned. I'm already giving to his girlfriend because he can't give her what she wants, is he still angry?
Marieta's timing won't really disappoint. I couldn’t help but smile. Save by Marieta. Looks like someone is coming home today. Someone's calling me too, the reason why I looked at them.
“You can talk to her for a while. I'll just take this call. I agree with whatever suggestion you want,” I said smiling at them. River just kept a cold look at me as Marissa slowly smile.
I averted my eyes from them before answering the call.
"Hello, Big Sis," she greeted.
"Are you busy?" she asked immediately so I couldn't help but wonder why she was calling.
“I’m not. Why? ” I asked her. He didn't speak so I couldn't help but frown.
"What is it, Marieta?" I was slightly worried about her.
“It’s nothing, Ate. I just miss you,” she said, slowly laughing. I don't buy it. She hides something in her voice.
"What is it, Marieta?" I asked her again.
“I just really miss you. I'll keep going now, Big Sis. I know you have a lot of things to do. I'm sorry for calling you. ” I don’t know but I can feel the sadness in her voice. I just sighed there before turning to Marissa and River who were busy talking to the wedding planner. River was just looking at me. I just pretended to smile at him before approaching.
"Ma'am Marissa wants to change the theme and layout of your wedding, Ma'am," the wedding planner said when she looked back at me. I looked at Marissa before I smiled.
"It's fine with me," I said. When I glanced at Marissa, I could see the grin from her lips before turning to River. I ignored them and just listened to the changes that I had just agreed to.
After talking to the wedding planner, Marissa pulled River towards the beach. They look like newlyweds who are still in the honeymoon phase. I just smiled at that.
“Are you sure you want to continue your marriage, Ma’am?” the wedding planner asked me. I couldn't help but look at her. Based on her eyes, she looked pitying me so I couldn’t help but laugh. Is that what my eyes look like?
“You won't have peace of mind, Ma’am. Is that his best friend or something? If I look at them, they look like someone who will get married. Ma'am Marissa even criticized what you wanted. Isn't it rumored that he's her ex? Are they going to come back with each other, Ma'am?” she asked.
Maybe I’m feeling my chest tighten and I'm getting annoyed at myself because of this. Maybe because I think he is no longer following our contract with no public defamation. He really brought her here making me embarrass the wedding coordinator.
“No. They are just friends now. I'm not that stupid to continue this if I know I'm just being fooled. It's not just obvious but he loves me,” I said as I tried to act but I could see the disbelieving look of the wedding planner while she was looking at me. She didn't even try to hide her disappointment. The reason why I can't help but laugh.
When we got home, River and Marissa are the only ones who keeps on taking. I didn't bother wasting my time with them too.
In the evening, Veron knocked on the door to invite me to eat.
"You're not going to eat, Ma'am?" she asked me.
"I told you to just call me Vena, Veron," I told her.
“Sir is calling you but if I'm you, don't. You'll just eat with them. That would be awkward. ” She act as if she was still thinking until she realized something.
"I mean no! Go, Ma'am! They can't have fun while you're sulking here in the room!” Veron said so I just laughed. She's not trying to make me laugh but Veron is really born an entertainer.
“It’s fine. I prefer it here in the bedroom. I won't eat either. ” I even smiled at her. She was upset and didn't force me anymore.
I just don’t want to stress over how he feels. Ever since I was born being affections, maybe I'm just like this now because I was given so little attention by River back then. But it's done now. His girlfriend is here. That is not necessary now.
I busied myself with some of my sketches. I also talked to my fans online. Somehow I had fun too.
I turned to Veron when she came in again and seemed to be calling me again. She just scratched her head when I said I had no intention of eating at the dining.
"Veron." She turned to me as I called her name. She looks tired to come and go here.
"What are they doing downstairs now?" I asked.
“I think they are going, Ma’am. Maybe they'll take a walk. Date. Something like that, I think. I told you, you should come down. ” I don't know if this Veron is teasing me or what but it just made me upset. I looked at her so she kept her mouth shut.
"I heard before, they'll go to the hotel—" Veron didn't continue to say when she looked at me. I think she's now pitying me. I laughed at her.
“You don't have to hide it anymore, Veronica. You can say it. It's fine with me,” I told her so she just kept looking at me in disbelief.
"It's completely okay with me," I said. Not sure if she was really the one I'm convincing or myself. I can see that she doesn't seem to believe me anymore.
“No woman should be okay in this setup. Let's say you don't love him or anything, it's still not right for him to treat you like this,” she said. I know. I also agree with him when he gets there but who knows? Who am I to complain when I am only paid here to act?
But I can't help but think about what she said.
"He can't even ask you if you eaten," Veron muttered. I just laughed because she looked even angrier than me. Veron also left when I said that I'll not eat.
I also just distracted myself by talking to some of my nephews on messenger.
"There's something you're not telling me, isn't it?" I asked as my eyes narrowed. They were silenced and seemed like they don't really want to tell to me.
"What is it?" I asked, still folding my arms while looking at them.
“Marieta was sad today, Big Sister. Her grade in physical science dropped by one point,” Ruby said, my niece.
"Can I talk to her?" I asked them. They called my sister who was busy studying. She tried not to show his face so I knew that she really have a problem right away.
"Are you okay?" With my simple question, her tears immediately flowed.
“Big Sister's not pressuring you at all. I'm always happy with your grades,” I told her.
"I know, Big Sister… but I just feel bad about it… I'm sorry…" she said, trying to calm himself down. Our call ended with her just crying and crying. I know how badly she wanted to graduate. She’s going to be an accountant someday. She's so persistent when it comes to studying.
I sighed before sitting up in my bed. I just realized I was packing some things on my own. It's tiring to overthink a lot of things.
And maybe I was thinking that my life right now is not really the life I expect it to be.
"What are you doing?" a cold voice asked.
