Chapter 6

Mariana didn't wait for the man's approval before she dragged Yolanda away.

She heaved a sigh of relief as she got into her car with Yolanda

All through the journey, she was thinking of the scene that occurred at the clubhouse and the young man that saved her.

She couldn't see his face because he was covered but she didn't Know why she felt that he was familiar.

She apologized to Yolanda for the troubles and promised to make it up to her.

Yolanda accepted her apologies even though it wasn't planned.

Mariana asked for her address which Miss Yolanda told her.

The journey was quiet as Mariana drove Yolanda to her house.

The drive to Yolanda home took about 45 minutes. Mariana parked her car by the roadside and waited for Yolanda to get off the car.

Yolanda bid her a goodnight and she zoomed off.

Mariana got home late and went to bed in her party wear.

She was so tired that she slept in till 10am in the morning. She was just lucky that it was a weekend.

She woke up with a probing headache due to the hangover.

Mariana left the comfort of her bed, her Languid steps carried her to her kitchen as she went in to prepare a hangover soup.

The kitchen was filled with the burst of aroma coming from the pot of soup. The steaming aroma coming from the pot alone was so medicinal that it alleviated the symptoms of the hangover.

The hangover soup was ready in a short while and she emptied the soup into a bowl and went to the dining.

Taking a seat at the dining table, she took the hangover soup sip by sip.

After taking the broth soup she cleaned up the house and decided to rest.

Lucas went into the study to meet Cole who was attending to some crucial documents.

He stood before his boss hesitating to speak. He could feel the tension in the room, Lucas was thankful for the large desk before him as that was a wall of defense now.

Cole looked up at him and knew that he had something to say but he was scared.

He decided to act bossy and domineering.

“ You've been standing here fidgeting for some minutes now, what are you hesitating to say? Speak up now!”.

Lucas hastily spoke up. He reported the incident that occurred between Marina and the young man in the clubhouse.

Cole got furious, his knuckles turned white because of his clenching his fist.

He ordered Lucas to investigate the man that saved Mariana at the clubhouse but unfortunately Lucas had already made these investigations but nothing was found on them.

Cole was more furious to hear that. He wondered who could be the one with such a high reputation for his men not to be able to investigate him.

He had to resolve cooperating with the Smith's company.

Cole ordered Lucas to hasten up with the meeting with both companies as he was so anxious to meet Mariana where at San Diego he didn't want another Alex to have Mariana.

Meanwhile, Mariana over here have been remiscing about the man she met at the bar.

She couldn't shake off the feelings of familiarity that she felt when around him.

Mariana couldn't believed that a mere stranger that she just met especially at he bar of all places could make her feel so relaxed and safe though she was too nervous and scared at the incident before then and she couldn't place her feelings in check as she just wanted to get back to her home as fast as she could.

She was still grateful though to the younger man that stepped in to safe her but she couldn't still trust him.

Since she came to San Diego, she has as met a lot of people that look so much Mike Alex that made her Wonder if it was her imaginayion that was making a mess of her or if they were all real.
