Chapter 2 - Secretary

"Where are you working at? Did you know what's the name of the company they sent you? Maybe I could help you accompany there."

I think of it and checked my email again because I forgot to see it earlier. When I read the name of the company, she suddenly choked up so she gestured me to reach for some water for her. My brows furrowed while giving her a questioning look.

"Uh... You okay? What was the sudden shock?" I asked worriedly.

She raised her other hand, telling me there's nothing wrong."D-Did you just mentioned, Willson Entertainment Corporation? Goodness! I'm working there, my dear Caine."

"W-What? You... as in you're working in WEC company? Does it mean we're going to work together?" I asked surprisingly.

She finished eating and wiped the side of her lips."Maybe. I hope so. Shocks! It's really destiny for us to meet each other. We're going to go there tomorrow. Okay, bestie?"

I didn't sleep immediately that night, thinking what awaits me in that company. I message the staff who emailed me and told her that I will be there tomorrow. Becca was so happy after hearing the company who gave me a chance to work there. It's a very big company, as in the best company in the whole Asia. Maybe they were hiring some workers since their company is getting bigger each day. There might be a lot of works to do there.

Because I'm not yet sleepy, I prepared my small bag where my important files were being placed. This will be needed in my interview tomorrow. I also heated my formal attire so that it won't look messy when I wear it. I just have flat shoes but Becca says that girls in the company doesn't wear it because it's not suitable to our uniform... and also forbidden by their CEO.

In the morning, I woke up so early because my roommate or should I call as my friend now, keeps on knocking my door repeatedly. My alarm clock was set but there's still remaining thirty minutes before it will ring. And there she is, waking me up in advance.

"Rebecca. Why so early?" I pouted with my eyes half-open.

She hit me lightly to wake up my senses."Hey, you should not be late in your first day. You're going to apply as a new intern there so better hurry up. When you'll arrive at 8:00 in the morning, you can't be chosen because the waiting room was already fully occupied. You're lucky because it's the staff who recruited you so don't waste your chance."

I felt alive because of what she said and went back to my room to take a quick bath. I wore the dark blue fitted skirt, one inch above the knee. Then I put a white sleeveless before putting the white long sleeves and a dark blue blazer. I'm used in wearing like this in my office when I was in our province. I supervised the not so big farm of my grandparents that was supposed to be passed to my parents but unfortunately, they died in a car accident.

"Is this the company? Shocks! It's so big! How could you guys find the respective rooms when you're asked to?" I asked in disbelief.

She chucked and grabbed my hands to get inside."The staff will tell you everything once you will be hired. For now, I'll tell you the basic terms. If you'll enter this company, swipe your card that will be given by the district office. That's if you will pass their standards. Best of luck, Caine!"

I smiled at her and raised my hand to bid goodbye. She's going to go back to her work so we have to separate ways. I joined the line up in the middle who also wants to apply as workers. Because I came early, I got the number 5 reservation for the staff's interview. It's not that serious... maybe? I don't feel nervous at all. I grew up having a confidence to myself just like what my mother taught me. And when you're high, no one's going to pull you down.

"Number 5. Proceed to the CEO's office, dark blue door." Someone in the speaker called my number so I hurriedly walked to the said place.

While I was walking towards the dark blue door, my knees suddenly felt weak as my step take slower. I don't know why I felt nervous and trembling. Seems like there's a different tension inside this room.

I knocked the door three times."I'm the next applicant. Can I come inside?"

"Yes. Come in," a baritone voice answered inside the room.

I gulped two times when my nervousness eat my system. This is not really good. I might lose my confidence and stutter while talking to the interviewer.

My hands were shaking when I opened the room and closed the door silently. I let out a deep sigh before walking towards the table in the middle. The swivel chair is moving but it's not turning to face me. I sighed again in relief. Maybe I can talk to him in a proper way if this is our set-up.

"Uh.. Good morning. Are you the interviewer? S-Should I start now?" I asked, confusingly.

He showed his right hand, gesturing me to speak up."Go on. I'm listening."

"I'm Caisey Laine Valientes and I'm from the province of Caloocan. One of the staffs in this company called me and gave the opportunity of working here. Actually, I'm managing our farm in the province where a lot of tourist spots are found. I graduated in Highschool and just finished College last two months. That's all I want to say." I bowed a little even if he couldn't see me.

The swivel chair finally turned around and my jaw dropped after seeing his perfect features."So, you're Ms. Valientes from Macau Farm? You shouldn't have come here and asked for an interview because you're already hired."

"P-Pardon? H-How come that I'm hired without even taking an interview? Isn't it... unfair to the others?" I asked curiously.

"Why would it be unfair? I'm the one who told the staff to call you because you're one of the chosen supervisors that works in a farm. We need experts on it so you're gonna work in my company starting today," he explained so fast.

My mouth left half-open but I immediately close my mouth after realizing that he's staring at me."M-My apologize, Mr. CEO. I'm not on my normal state when I'm making my way here so I just knew that you're the CEO and not an interviewer."

If the ground could just open and eat me because of embarrassment, I will gladly do it. Did I just made myself stupid in front of him? The CEO of this company?! Oh God!

"It's okay. I'll call the staff who called you and wait for her outside my office. Welcome to my company, Ms. Valientes." He stood up from his swivel chair and offered his hand on me.

I pretended to act normal and accepted his hand with a sweet smile. There's an electricity on it and I felt an unusual feeling while I'm holding his hand. I never had any contact with some other guys like this. I-It's my first time... and it's him.

I immediately went outside his office after that and the another applicant was already standing there, probably waiting for me to get out. She looks like a fashionista of what. Wearing thick make-ups and revealing clothes. I was born observant but I don't do insulting others. It's a sin, just like what my parents and grandparents taught me.

I smiled at her to be nice but she didn't care and even bumped my shoulders when she passed by. I don't know what's her problem or what did I do wrong but I just shrugged it off. Minutes after, the staff already arrived while smiling at me. She seems so nice so I did the same way.

"I'm going to give you all the details of do's and do not's in this company and all you have to do is to read all of it. It will took a day before we'll finish talking and I swear, it's freaking tiring. So, yeah, congrats for being the CEO's new secretary," she said smilingly.

"W-What?! H-His secretary? Are you kidding me? I'm not his secreta---I mean, we didn't talk about it." My reaction was still unidentified because of shock.

She just chuckled on my reaction."Don't be surprised. He's just like that, works that are full of surprises. Best luck to you, Ms. Valientes."

"B-But... why me? I'm just new here. A newbie. I-I don't even know what I'm going to do," I said in disbelief.

She nodded and patted my shoulders."No pressure. That's why you have to read all the details and the position of being a secretary is included on it. You should know how to value time because he suddenly gets mad when you're late."

I did what she said and left me when she finally accompanied me to my own mini-office. I opened my computer and linked all the accounts that I needed for my new business here. I can't help but to glance at the papers on my side table. Ugh. This will be a tiring first day... As a secretary.
