Chapter 4

Alpha

I got up and went to the castle window, saw my subjects as always bringing more prisoners from outside the county. I put on my jewelry and bracelets, went down the stairs and Radesh was waiting for me with the table already set.

— I prepared your food, my master! — Radesh bowed to me as always.

Everything was as I like, raw beef and a good wine to accompany.

— Will the sacrifice dinner be as usual after tonight’s games?

— Everything will depend on the conversation I will have with the beautiful Eugenia in that cold dungeon. — Radesh was surprised by my speech and could not stand to be silent and just fulfill my orders. He did not question what I said, but he saw that I was, for the first time in years, willing to bargain with someone in exchange for his life.

— Forgive me for being so bold, but I’ve never seen you put your decisions in someone else’s hands.

— Your role here is to serve me and not question. — I ate and decided to bring a welcome treat for her, asked Radesh to prepare a tray with fruit and good wine.

Eugenia sat on the old bench that served as a bed in that dungeon, put the tray on her legs... Eugenia walked away, breathing deeply.

— I thought I gave the order not to feed myself. — She always managed to challenge me. I smiled and picked up a ripe grape by placing it on her pink, voluminous lips.

— Try Eugenia! — I wanted to taste the sweetness of her lips, and I know I will do it soon. She slowly ate that fruit and was still scared and surprised by my attitude, I sat next to her. — See how much sweeter it is to do what I say?

— I just want you to let my people live in peace. — She begged, trying not to look me in the eye one more time.

— I only brought you food, I did not know I had brought a counselor prisoner.

— Like you, I just want to protect my fellow men.

— You can be noble among humans, a true princess. Isn’t that how your people call you out there? — I was ironic, but she was not the type to let down by an unfortunate pun, insisted on facing me equally even though she knew she could not do anything against me.

— I’ll have Radesh tell that your parents and even your cowardly brother can leave. The rest of the village will remain and everything will continue as before, the life of one will be sacrificed for the lives of many. — I pushed my tone even harder to intimidate her.

— My family are my friends and everyone I have fought for.

— You are brave, Eugenia, very much so. But you are not acting intelligently in facing me.

She stood up, angry.

— If loving people as I love is foolish, yes, that’s what I am! — She cried. I could use my power over her, leave her trapped in a dream while I enjoyed her body and innocence and then take her life in sacrifice, she wouldn’t even feel everything I’m willing to do. I looked into her eyes and using my power I immobilized her, Eugenia kept her senses but did not control her body.

Eugenia

I’m still, I can’t control my movements and even if I wanted to run I couldn’t. That strong man hugged me, lifting my hair and licking my lips like an animal licks the calf and giving me a slight bite. I wish I could ask him to stop, but nothing in me obeyed my commands. All I could do was let a tear roll from my left eye.

— You are mine only, and I can do what I want with you. — His voice was always haughty and merciless, even if his phrase was somehow romantic. He dried my tear and in a snap of fingers let me regain control of the body, I moved away quickly.

— Never do that to me again! — I went away, still touching myself to make sure I was whole.

— I will not make my beauty, because I will manage to dominate you, without the need to appeal to my power.

He held out his right hand, the beauty of his face for a second made me forget how cruel and inhumane he was.

— Then release Jane! — I asked him, and without any fear of the answer.

He turned back and looked at the cell where she was. — She has been locked up for so many years now that I didn’t even remember existed, why do you want the freedom of someone who can easily rip your throat out? — He asked, looking at Jane’s into the cell.

— I can see her soul and there is still something good. — He took steps towards me.

— And in mine, what do you see? — He asked, looking at my lips.

Meanwhile, in the village, Elizabeth regretted not having left home and allowed that animal to take her daughter. Thor wanted to put everything into that castle and get her out, but could not break the promise he made to her not to go there.

— Eugenia is in the hands of that rascal! — Thor walked around with a fear that only grew as time passed.

— That if you are still alive and all because of you. — Anthony replied.

He grabbed his stepson by the collar of his shirt and threatened to attack him, was restrained by Elizabeth, who soon said:

— Please stop, he’s your son, and we’ve had enough suffering for one night!

— Dad always made a difference between us, I don’t know why, but he always loved my sister more than I did.

— You are mistaken Thor, I love you and would give my life for both. — Anthony answers with tears in his eyes.

— My little princess can not be dead, can not! — Elizabeth cried being held by her husband’s arms.

— He won’t kill her, I saw the way she looked at her. My sister aroused the desire in that monster, and I fear what may be going through his hands. — Thor closed his fist at the cost of his life.

He needed and would do something for her, even though he knew his own life was at stake.

Eugenia

— You haven’t answered me yet, are you going to release Jane?

He smiled, mocking my request, but I know he liked to have fun with my fear.

— So we have an Alpha deal, give the order to release Jane.

— Radesh! — He cried out to that cruel and terrifying monster who served him.

— But sir, she was sentenced to spend her entire life in that cell and...

— Don’t argue Radesh, just do what I told you to do. — Alpha looked at me when he gave that order, seemed to be still studying me.
