Chapter 2
Candy laugh, and look away, I turn too and same time the teacher walk in, named Mr. Smith.
He asks everyone to take out their books, and open to chapter 10 of the history of USA. A lot of persons in the class didn’t bring out theirs, I almost have my own opened at my table, when Mr. Smith approached my table and requested me to read a few of the lines of the chapter, for the sake of other's who did not have the book.
I walk to the front of the class, looking over everyone at their chairs.
Mr. Smith again ask me to begin and I did that, I read clearly stating each of the words I spoke to the class; and after that I walked back to my chair, behind someone started to clap, I follow everyone and turn, and I find the new student, hands continue to jam for me.
"Thank you Drake Lowell!" Mr. Smith said.
Thanks to him, we finally know his name. Everyone look away after Drake stop to clap; I sat down, but then again I turn in his direction and his eyes caught mine, scared, I turn back to Mr. Smith teaching.
After sometime, the class ended; Candy left to get some books at the library, she ask me to wait for her at the cafeteria; I walk to our chair, I kept my bag at the table, roaming my eyes to the entire students, they were either busy talking but for Muna, she is seated with the new student, Drake.
Drake only just resumed, yet Muna has started to throw herself on him. While I wait for Candy; I decided to take care of the assignment Mr. Smith left for us to do and submit tomorrow...
"You look busy,” I heard a man's voice, I look up and my eyes beholds Drake's presence, he pull another chair and sit down next to me.
From there, I see Muna's eyes getting angry, as she watched me speak with Drake. "I'm sorry; do you think its okay to seat here with me?"
I turn to him and ask; Drake eyes surveyed everywhere, he laughed taking his bulky eyes back at me. "I think we're both save, don't worry,"
He laughed again; he arose from the chair and leaves my table, smiling so much. I look at him, as he left the cafeteria; Candy come in after a while, I pack up my book and we both went back home together. Candy resides at the next street; just a stone throw to my house, our parents are friends and that makes our relationship easy to flow with.
Candy’s mom and mine are both widows and single moms. They were left with the responsibility to take care of two growing teenage girls; that is almost becoming adults.
Candy is a year old than me, she is already eighteen years old, so the adult age implies to me; I am yet to be eighteen years old.
