Chapter Fourteen - "Do you feel that?"

"Ivory! I can't believe you're doing this!" I giggle at her, keeping my eyes peeled for anyone that could tell us off. Ivory is currently trying to steal a supermarket trolley whilst being extremely intoxicated. Apparently her high heels are hurting so she wants a cheap and fun transport to the next club which is half a mile away from where we are now.

"This is going to be the best idea ever!" Ivory squeals, stumbling a little on her feet. I giggle at her and walk over, careful not to fall over. As I'm holding the trolley still, Ivory climbs in, sitting cross legged directly in the middle.

"Away we go!" She yells up at the sky, signalling for me to ride down the road. I giggle again before pushing her. The trolley lurches forward and Ivory screams with joy. I take the chance to balance myself on the handle as we both glide down the street.

"Are we going the right way?" I ask between laughing hysterically and Ivory shrugs, unable to contain her fits of giggles.

"Who cares? Let's just go!" She squeals and the grin on my face widens. I speed up and pick both feet up off the floor as we both whiz down the road. The wind begins to rush through my hair and I smile, closing my eyes for a brief second. In that second, I forget about everything that's worrying me.

I become carefree, loving the way freedom feels.

"Trisha!" I yell, leaning towards his ear so he can hear me over the roar of the music. The boy smiles and as he leans closer, I can smell his aftershave fill my senses. He gives me a cute smile, dimples dipping in to his cheeks.

"Trisha?" He repeats, confirming it with me. I nod my head, taking a sip from my drink.

"My names Jordan," he responds, his eyes briefly drifting down my body and back up again. I giggle under my breath, glancing around to see if Ivory's back from the bar yet. The girl drinks twice as fast as me, I struggle to keep up. I search the crowds for her auburn hair but she's nowhere to be spotted. Next to me, Jordan leans in closer, eager.

"Can I dance with you Trisha?" Jordan asks, his hand already resting on my hip. I look up into his large blue eyes, grateful that he looks so different from Tobias. Without thinking, I nod my head, allowing him to guide me to the bodies of dancing people.

It isn't long until he's tilting his head, eyes closed as he inches towards my lips. My eyes widen and I spring back, falling against the crowd behind me. I shake my head, the familiar disappointed feeling settling inside my stomach.

"I have to go," I mumble, not caring that he probably couldn't hear me over the sound of the music. I weave my way through endless bodies, placing my drink on a table before heading for the exit. Once I'm outside, I inhale deeply, closing my eyes.

Sober up Trish.

I know I'm intoxicated, I can feel myself sway with every step I take. My mind isn't clear and every bad decision seems like the right decision. I pull my phone out of my bag and ring Ivory. The wind is harsh outside but the alcohol in my system makes me numb to the cold. Either that or I'm in too much pain to feel anything. On the third ring, Ivory answers.

"Hey, where are you?" I giggle into the phone, leaning against the wall outside the club. I slide down it until I'm sat cross legged on the pavement.

"I'm like six feet away from you Trish, look up." Ivory laughs and I glance up to find her waving at me, standing next to a car. Tobias' car.

"Is that Tobias?" I ask, slurring my words slightly. Ivory nods her head at me and ends the call, wobbling towards me. The driver door opens and the man himself steps out. He's dressed in all black, his pale skin contrasting beautifully against the dark strands of his hair. Even when it's dark outside, his beauty shines stronger than anyone else's. My eyes briefly wonder over his body and I want to scream out in frustration. Instead, I let out a loud groan, covering my face with my hands.

"God, if you're listening... please can you be a gentleman and let the floor open up and eat me? I really don't want to be here right now," I mutter.

"Tobias is here to take us home but I really don't want to go." Ivory pouts unhappily, placing a hand on my shoulder. I glance around her and find Tobias walking over to us, his shoulders squared. His face is emotionless but he ignores me entirely as he stands side by side with his sister.

"Ivory, we need to go. Now."

Ivory rolls her eyes and I tear my eyes off him, ignoring the lump wedged deep inside my throat. The alcohol stirs inside my stomach and I scrunch my face up in distress.

"I don't want to Tobias, I'm having the best time!" Ivory whines, taking a step away from him. She trips on her heels and Tobias immediately wraps an arm around her, holding her up.

"This is why I need to take you home." He murmurs sternly, giving her his best older brother look. Ivory nods slowly, finally giving into his demand. Tobias gives her a small smile in response, keeping his hold on her as he guides her back to his car. He briefly pauses, glancing over his shoulder at me.

"And you Trish, come on." He says quietly, dark eyes staring intensely through mine. I shake my head in protest, feeling hurt.

"No, I'm going to walk home."

"Like hell you are," Tobias shoots back at me, his eyebrow raised high. I narrow my eyes at him and he holds my stare before sighing deeply, helping Ivory climb into the back seat of his car. I stand up unsteadily, using the wall to support myself. I can hear Ivory giggling in his back seat as he shuts the door, leaving us alone outside. I turn my back on him and begin to walk down the road, away from him. I have to use the wall to steady myself otherwise I'll end up face planting the floor.

"Trish, you're coming with me."

I ignore his words and continue walking, the alcohol causing my thoughts to jumble together into one big hot mess. I feel his hand wrap around my wrist, stopping me in my tracks.

"Let go of me." I whisper, closing my eyes.

"No, I'm not leaving you out here." He mutters, pulling me backwards into his body. I protest against him, shaking my head profusely.

"Don't touch me Tobias! I don't want to be your little distraction!" I yell at him, struggling to free myself. His hold on my arms tighten and I can feel him pressed against me tightly from behind, his intoxicating scent floating around me. He dips his head until his lips meet my ear, his voice low and calm.

"You are not my little distraction. Come home with me."

"Screw you," I hit back at him, my voice sounding defeated and my words slurred. To my surprise, he lets out a low chuckle which sends goosebumps erupting over my skin. I couldn't feel anything before but now it felt like my body was burning up with flames.

"If you want to screw me Sugar, go ahead."

I stop struggling and close my eyes, trembling slightly. From behind me, his arms let go and instead wrap around my top half, pulling me close into his chest.

All night I've been craving his scent, his touch despite what he said to me and how he made me feel. . .

"Don't speak to me like that. Joke or no joke." I respond firmly, whirling around on my heels. Regardless of how I feel, I can't allow him to treat me as a distraction and use me.

I narrow my eyes at him, my stare never once altering. Tobias' dark eyes flicker between both of mine and I watch as they fill with guilt before dropping to the floor. His tongue flicks out to wet his bottom lip but I force myself to remain strong.

"What you said wasn't okay." I tell him, my voice quiet. Tobias shuffles closer towards me, pain subtly flashing through his features. He reaches out slowly and takes hold of my wrist which I allow him to do. I feel my confidence tremble and I inhale sharply, a silence falling upon us. Tobias continues growing closer and closer before dipping his head low in line with my ear —

"I'm sorry Sugar. Please forgive me, it won't happen again." He murmurs, his voice filled with truth.

I close my eyes, wavering on my feet slightly. Alcohol mixed with the effect Tobias has me on me isn't a good mix. Part of me knows Tobias is struggling to cope with the battle going on inside his head. I wish he'd open up to me so we could both fight our battles together. However I understand why he's so mysterious and secretive. He doesn't show his pain . . . just like me.

"Come home with me," he repeats his words, his fingers lightly brushing over my bare arms. I nod silently, biting down on my lower lip.

"Do you feel that?" I ask him sharply. I look up into his dark brown eyes, hooded over with thick black lashes. A sparkle briefly flashes through his eyes, lips twitching up into a smile.

"The electricity?" He murmurs, resting his forehead against mine. I suck in a breath, excitement and goosebumps causing me to shiver. I nod my head, my own lips stretching out into a wide smile.

"Yes, the electricity."
