8: (Y)ELLOW FLOWERS

(Y)ou hissed his name but he just continued to walk straight and out of the library.

Jungkook turned and walked away from you, he smiled a bit knowing that you’re going to be really pissed at him.

He was planning on buying new lingerie set for you on the nearby store and immediately get back since he already knew that you won’t move a muscle in there. But his head was suddenly spinning, and he couldn’t even hear you calling him since all that was on his head at the moment was this sharp ringing sound that kept getting louder and louder by the second, he rushed out of the library and into the boy’s bathroom.

Stumbling his way in the empty restroom, he rested his palms on the sink counter to keep his balance as he reached for his phone on his pocket and dialed.

“Hyung--,” he said breathy.

“Jungkook?-- Jungkook? Are you alright? Where are you?”

“Campus...”

--

“Damn you,” you cursed under your breath. You waited for him but he didn’t came back so you took matters to your own hands and went straight home taking the taxi while cursing at Jungkook non-stop in your mind.

You kept checking on your phone but no calls or even text messages from your boyfriend, you scoffed throwing your phone on the mattress beside you. Of course you’re not going to call him, it has to be him who should call first.

Biting on your lip, you stared on your cellphone beside you, then turned to the clock plastered on the wall.

8:37pm

What is wrong with him?

...

Ugh!

...

Whatever!

You grabbed your phone and dialed Jungkook’s number.

The other line kept on ringing, but you were so ready to scream on him on the phone so you didn’t stop calling until on your fourth try he finally answered.

“Do you think it’s funny leaving me there without any undies on?” You screamed over the phone. “And what took you so f*cking long to answer your phone?”

“Hello?” You stopped, the voice on the other line was not of your boyfriend’s.

“Hello? Who’s this?” You asked.

“I’m Jungkook’s friend,” the guy with a low voice answered, “he’s...uhm...in the hospital right now.”

“Hyung!” You heard Jungkook’s voice not far, he sounded weak.

“Where exactly?” You asked standing up to get your coat and bag.

--

You could smell the aroma of yellow irises flower* enveloping the room which you assumed this Taehyung guy had brought for Jungkook, the flowers’ scent helped ease the headache causing-strong medicine like odor of the hospital which you were actually glad about.

You looked at your boyfriend laying on the bed as you sat on the chair beside him in the white painted room of the hospital.

“Are you still mad?” He asked.

Dextrose was attached on his veins and it made your eyebrows knit just seeing the visible needle struck on his purple colored veins.

“Sorry babe,” he said sweetly, “I swear I’ll buy you new lingerie.”

“Huh?” You turned your attention on him, “seriously, that is not the issue here Jungkook,” you stared at him, concerned was written all over your face. “What--.”

Taehyung entered the room making you both turn towards him.

“You must be Taehyung,” you smiled at the handsome-anime looking guy in front of you, extending your hand to his--he shook it and smiled back at you.

“Hi, you must be Y/N,” he said with his low voice.

“Could you please tell me what happened to this guy?” You asked Taehyung pointing at Jungkook.

Taehyung opened his mouth to speak when Jungkook suddenly groaned.

“Ugh! I’m hungry!” He exclaimed, “Y/N, could you please get me something to eat?” He pouted.

“I’ll go get it!” Taehyung offered.

“NO!” Jungkook said a bit loud making you both turned to him sharply, “Hyung, I have something to ask, also Y/N knows exactly what I want to eat so just let her,” he smiled widely.

“It’s fine, I’ll go get it,” you said smiling reassuringly on Taehyung and left them to get some food.

“She doesn’t know,” Taehyung said, which sounded more of a statement than a question.

“Hyung--.”

“Do you realize what you’re doing?”

“I love her.”

“Ugh! Jungkook!”

“You’re making it sound like I’m already dying!”

Taehyung sighed heavily, “God, no! What I’m saying is that, you should have at least told her.”

Jungkook swallowed hard trying to ease the lump that was forming on his throat.

“I need her Hyung,” Jungkook said, voice lower and weaker than the usual, “I need her in order to fight this thing, and... And I don’t think that I can do it without her. I know, I’m being such a selfish asshole right now, but.”

“Jung-.”

“Just... I should be the one to tell her, okay?”

For a moment, there was only silence inside the room.

“Hyung! Promise me, you won’t tell her.”

“Fine,” Taehyung said as he looked at his best friend, he obviously gotten worse, he was a bit skinny than the last time they’ve met, a bit paler, a bit weaker, but he was fighting. He has more courage, faith, and strength right now compared to before, maybe because he really was in love, and he was finding more power because of you.

“What did the doctor said?” Jungkook asked snapping Taehyung back to his senses.

“Uhm, he gave new sets of medicines--.”

“UGH! Again? I’m so tired of all these prescriptions.”

“Stop whining like a baby. Here, I’ve already bought them, that should last for two weeks,” Taehyung placed the bag of medicines on the the table.

“Put it inside the drawer Hyung.”

Taehyung did what Jungkook asked then sat on the bed beside him, “Jungkook, I’m your best friend, and I only want the best for you,” he started.

“I know,” Jungkook replied, “we’ve been together since at the orphanage, you’re more than my friend Hyung,” Jungkook reached for Taehyung’s shoulder patting it, “you’re a brother to me.”

“Good, then take my advice and take all your prescriptions, ’cause it’ll help you get better.”

“It’s too many to keep track though.”

“Y/N can help on reminding you, it’ll be a lot easier if you’ll just tell her...”

You swung open the door just in time to hear Taehyung.

“Tell me what?” You asked.
