Chapter 2

**RAVEN**

After proclaiming the severing tie ritual, he bursted out in an uncontrollable laughter that I couldn't even understand.

"Why?" I found myself asking and it made me want to slap and hit myself on the head to bring it back to normal because I'm sure my brain is malfunctioning.

"Ouch." He suddenly grimaced gripping his chest before letting out a slight grin.

"That really worked. I've been waiting to try it, just say some words and whatever fate you have with your mate is ended." He exclaimed, smiling widely as he revealed his perfectly arranged set of sparkling white teeth.

"Hold up. Just to be sure my brain is still functioning properly, you're taking this as a joke right?" I mused while a kind of uncontrollable anger filled my veins to the very last drop.

"Oh my goodness, this is so fucking ridiculous." He jeered and bursted out in another rumble.

"What the hell are you doing, Claw? You do know that what you've done has the ability to make you unable to get a mate forever, right?" A man asked and I assumed it was his beta because of the silver teeth I saw when he opened up his mouth to speak.

"Oh wait...you're joking," Alpha Claw stated as his demeanour changed to an awkward sad look, "yeah, you have to be joking." He concluded, nodding his head like he was reassuring himself.

Thank goodness for the rejection because if I got accepted, how was I supposed to cope with this boyish man?

"There's no way I'm joking and you know that. Besides, Eleanor shouldn't you be attending to your gamma duties? I left some paperwork's on your table and also, there are new sets of trainees." The man—His Beta— ranted and I felt like getting a voodoo doll and stabbing it in his face. Who is he trying to make jest of?

Perhaps that's why he called me gamma because he's belittling my status as an Omega. I have no idea why I always get mixed up with assholes as people.

"Eleanor? I didn't just speak to myself for these past seconds. Come on, get off it. It's not like the Alpha is your mate to make you keep that expression. I kept some berries for you and the baby." The man continued despite my questioning expression and even went as far as approaching me.

As he was about placing his hand on my stomach, i slightly bent backward and stepped back.

"Eleanor, what's wrong with you? The rejection was just a joke okay? It's not like I would really reject you if we were mates but darn it, the moon goddess thinks this guy is more worthy enough." Alpha Claw stated, rolling his eyes as he referred to the beta and I think it's okay for me to say that literally, everyone here is crazy.

"What's wrong with y'all? It's Raven not Eleanor," I said eyeing them all suspiciously, "And besides, what baby are you talking about, mister?" I asked directing my question to his beta with my hands on my waist in a challenging manner while he gave me a weird look.

"Okay, stop the messing around Eleanor. You're really looking creepy right now." Alpha Claw said while dusting his raiment as he picked up his pace.

"Okay, everyone hold up. Did no one hear me say that I got missing while I was chased by rouges?" I asked staring at each of them in the eye.

This is so derilious.

"Hey, Draven. I'm sure as hell that I've been searching everywhere for you and you're just here. Where are the berries you promised, you ass hole?" A voice asked from behind with heavy footsteps and the expression on the faces of the men was nothing to write about.

It felt like the way their eye balls were bulging out, it would really pop out of its socket as they stared behind me and back to me.

It made me feel really uncomfortable so I swerved to see the bitch that would even dare to talk to an Alpha and his beta that way.

And that's it! When I turned, I'm certain a mirror that isn't reflecting the clothes I was putting on was right in front of me.

"Arghhhhhh." She yelled when she laid eyes on me as I yelled as well.

"Arrghhhh." I screeched as well, shutting my eyes tightly like a certain monster was right in front of me.

After few minutes of screaming, I decided that was enough and shut my mouth abruptly.

Opening my eyes slowly, I peered at whoever this reflection is and she was still here. Damn, I really hoped I was dreaming.

If this isn't my reflection then what the hell was she?

"Can someone explain what's going on here?" The pregnant lady asked but I was utterly speechless to even utter a word.

"Baby?" She called, swerving to stare at the young man that was the beta but he took a frightening step backward.

"No, no,no. You both are the ones to explain what's going on here," he said with hands akimbo while staring at me in the eye.

"What the hell do I have to explain," she screeched stamping her foot angrily, "Why are my seeing myself? I mean, I didn't duplicate, did I?" She said as tears rolled down her eyes.

Okay, quite acceptable that this one is an emotional wreck. Finally something that differentiates the both of us.

"I guess we need to see the priestess or—" The Beta who I think it's fair to call a man baby began before I rudely interrupted.

It's good to be rude at some points too.

"No! Y'all are not listening to me!" I yelled and they stared at me weirdly like I had grown imaginary horns like Lucifer.

"So she has a tongue?" The other woman asked rather sarcastically and I immediately pivoted giving her the glare of her life as I stuck my tongue out.

"Of course I have a tongue but it's obvious you can't even see." I shot back, twitching my eyes as I placed my hands on my waist in a stylish manner.

"Did you just talk back at me in that manner?" She said smirking while rolling her eyes.

I noticed Alpha Claw and his Beta exchanging knowing looks but I couldn't care less about whatever was roaming in their minds.

It's none of my business. All I have to do is try to get them to understand all this shit that's happening and get sent back to my home—hell— safely.

"Just shut it bitch. I don't have that energy, i'm quite exhausted from been chased by those rouges." I retorted rolling my eyes in disgust.

"Speaking of rouges, that's how I ended up here in the first place. I went hunting and wandered far till I got noticed by rouges. Running away from been dead meat, I got here." I concluded searching their eyes to see if any of them actually understood a thing from what I was saying so far.

"So let me this straight, you got lost." Alpha Claw stated and I had to stop myself from hissing.

What have I been explaining all these while??

"Nicely stated." I answered and his face scrunched up.

"Then why?" He asked staring at his Beta.

"I don't have an answer." His beta replied and I tilted my head closer to read meaning into their coded words.

"Why what?" I asked with curiosity.

"Why the hell did your eyes give off the damned golden glow when you're not from around here and you're not even my mate?" Alpha Claw yelled and the authority in his voice sent shivers down my spine. Sorry for calling him a man baby earlier.

"Doppelgangers! This explains while I felt that you're an omega but shoved it to the back of my head since I thought you were Eleanor."

"Who the hell are you? And let it not be fuckibg true that you're my mate." He growled and the ground where I stood shook intensively.
