Chapter 2

May cleaned the house after her family had left. Once she was done, she walked to her bedroom and took a quick shower. She had less than an hour before the Nannies began to come for the interview.

She walked to her walk in closet and looked for something simple to wear. She didn't like to be over dressed which made her wonder what her life was like before. Who she was and what she loved before she got into that accident.

May brushed of the memories of the story that her husband had told her as she pulled a green tank top that still had a tag on it. When they had arrived in America, her husband had taken them shopping and to be honest, he had over done it. She looked around for a skirt to match her top and she landed on a white one. She looked at it for a while debating where to go with it or a green on.

It took her almost ten minutes before she decided to take the white skirt. The skirt reached below the knees. Once she was done, she dried her hair and held it in a bun. Just when she was about to walk to the shoe rack, the door bell rung.

May pulled flat black shoes and wore them as she walked down to open the door. All she prayed as she opened the door was that she makes the right decision. It was about her two angels. About their happiness and she would lay her life for them.

"Hey," She greeted as she opened her door wider, "You must be here for the interview."

She looked at the middle aged woman who still stood at the door way. She was well dressed and May had to agree that that was one of the characters she was looking for. To her, she had put too much effort on her kids and she always wants them to be smartly dressed.

The lady said yes and May asked her to sit at the visiting area outside. That way it would help with the rest. They would know where to wait as the interview went on. Once she made sure that the lady was settled, May walked back to prepare some fresheners for her visitor.

"I'll call you." May said to the firth person that had stepped into her study office.

She looked at the time and it was almost noon and still she hadn't gotten the suitable Nanny. The one that was standing up to leave had just left her previous work once she saw the advertisement that May had placed out there. What was to make her not to leave the twins when she saw another advert?

May rubbed the back of her neck as she got up from the seat. Three good hours without her getting up. She walked to the window so as to let her muscle loosen. As May looked out of the window and continued to rub her neck that feeling came back to her.

The same feeling that she had felt every time she rubbed her neck. Like she had seen someone do that allot before. And if not someone, it had to be her. But it wasn't her husband, he never not even once rubbed his neck...

May was interrupted by a light knock on the door. She walked back and sat before she called in for a come in. Whoever was outside that door was the last person for the day. She still had to go and check out that shop before renting it out for her business.

"Good afternoon, ma'am." Greeted a guy who was less than twenty five years old.

May looked at the young man that stood before him and got confused. What was a young man as him doing at her interview of Nannies? She looked at him from head to toe and she was impressed with his dressing. Although not expensive, he wore a blue Kaki's and a black T-shirt. His snickers were also black. To be honest, if she hired him, her son would get a best friend.

"Good afternoon Mr..."

"White, Rafael White."

"Mr. White, please have a seat." She said pointing at the seat that was next to him. "How may I be of help?"

She had to be sure that he was there to for what she was looking for. May watched the young man pull out what she assumed was his resume and other papers before he handed them to her. He looked confidence and that was another point for him.

"I'm looking for work ma'am." His grey eyes didn't leave her green once as he spoke.

"And why is that?" May asked looking at the papers that he handed to her. "Your Cv says that you're 23 years old. Why would you want to become a Nanny?"

May thought that he would take time to answer but he didn't.

"I'm still in school ma'am. I'm in my second year in university and I've to pay for my fee, rent, food and all those necessity that we need in order to leave."

So much confidence.

May thought as she looked at the papers once more. He was telling the truth about his studies and it got her wondering.

"Let's say I give you this job," Her gaze were once more locked to his grey ones. "How will you juggle between school and taking care of the twins?"

"If I get this job and I hope I do, I'll take online classes so that I can watch over the twins."

"Isn't someone like you supposed to be enjoying life out there?"

"Like I said ma'am, I've to provide for myself." She watched him as he sat straighter on the seat. "Don't worry, I'll take care of the kids as my Nanny took care of me."

May was shocked and it was her turn to sit straight. "You had a Nanny?" The shock was in her voice even. "That means you're from a wealth family."

"Yes and was." Rafael answered. May felt hurt in what he said next. "My parents are so rich and all my life I was raised by my Nanny. She was like a mother to me and she knew me better than my birth mum who was always busy with her work. Once I graduated from high school, I was called to Cambridge University. My parents wanted me to become an engineer but I wanted to become a surgeon.

"So when I refused, they disinherited me. I had to save up for me to join university hence my delay in schooling."

May felt sorry for the young boy and knew he had just cut the story short. She just wondered what type of parent would disown their own kid just because he refused to do what they wanted. They had to be monsters to be honest.

May wondered if her parents loved her. According to her husband, they had died six years ago in the same car crush that she was in. She had felt the pain of loosing her parents even though she couldn't remember them at all. She had cried that day as her husband held her. He had assured her that he would always be there for her.

And she, she will always be there for her family. No matter what happens. She was ready to move the world for them. And as she looked at Rafael, she was sure that she would never hurt her kids. She would always encourage them and support them in everything. And most importantly, she will always have time for them.

May asked all the questions that she needed answers to and the young man answered them well. By the end of the interview, she already liked him for her kids. He was intelligent and it was going to help so much.

"Since I've a place to be, do you mind we've lunch at a restaurant that is around the corner." She asked as she got up. "I like you Mr. White."

May drove to the restaurant and they ate as they talked more. May in a way told him what her kids needed which he paid attention even before he knew he was hired.

"And you don't need to pay rent." She said as they walked out of the restaurant.

The young man stood before he asked, "I beg you pardon?"

"You're hired Rafael, and you can live with us as long as you work for us."

The excitement she saw in those eyes was heart warming. May said good bye to the young man as she told him of where she had to be. And that was after a million thanks and promises of not letting her down. May got into her car and as she drove to the shop, she called her husband and informed him of the good news.

Reigns promised to be home early. In fact he said he would be the one picking up the twins. May parked at the parking lot and stepped out. She met with the landlord who showed her the shop. It was big and well decorated.

She called her friend to show her her new working environment. Of course that's after she had settled everything with the landlord and he had handed her the keys

"OMG! Bestie, that one is better than the one we own in Kenya." Mama Natalia said once May was down showing her. "I love it."

"I know," May said as she sat down on the floor. "Just a little movement and our business will grow in America."

Mama Natalia smiled. "I can't wait to have a branch in America bestie." She said as she looked at May. "Did you get a permanent place to get the bones?"

"Yes, I got a supplier and I'm already working."

"That's May."

They talked more and May ended the call as she got up. She needed to be home before Rafael got there. May locked the door and walked to the parking lot. Just when she was about to get into her car, a hand held her shoulder making her jump.

"Maya?" The female asked in disbelief. "OMG! It's you, Maya Rollins."
