CHAPTER FOUR

Selena's POV

I continued to stare at him with my heart pounding hard against my chest as though it was going to burst through and cold shivers ran down my spine.

He brought out his cell from the pocket and began to pouch in some numbers slowly. "What is he trying to do?" I thought in my head confused while I continued to stare into his eyes.

"This is what you and your mother owe me." He said to me, pointing the phone to my face. "One hundred and fifty thousand dollars." I read and I gasped. "But how was that even possible?" I returned to him still trying hard to recover from the shock.

"Ask your mother, not me." He returned to me swiftly and pulled away from me. "So I am not only postponing your rent, but I am also postponing this." He said to me with a dark smile hanging on his face while I continued to stare at him stranded.

"But I can help you." He returned to me and my jaws fell apart. I could feel my heart beating hard against my chest as though it was going to burst through and I shivered hard, waiting for the means that he was willing to help me with.

"Since your mate, Alpha Austin already rejected you, be my mistress." He said to me and immediately she spat out the word from his mouth, my heart sank.

I looked at him for some time and thought about the word that just came out of his mouth. Be your mistress?" I gasped and was irritated. But how did he even know about the rejection that took place just a few hours ago?

"You are rejecting me? Just the same way Alpha Austin rejected you?" He shot a deadly sneer at me, renewing the Wound in my heart that came along with the rejection.

"You are already the talk of the Town with your grand Rejection so you should be considering this a privilege to be the mistress of a Mayor." She shot at me but the word irritated me even more.

"I will Rather be the mistress of a pig shifter." I shot at him with so much hate and disgust in my voice. My word made him flame up with anger and he shot a deadly glare at me. "Then get ready to pay me all the money you owe me before the next forty-eight hours or be ready to face the brutal force that I am going to summon after you." She shot at me and I growled back at him.

I turned around to leave swiftly and I could feel my heart beating hard against my chest. The large sum of money kept ringing in my head and the short time to do it too.

"What can be done within twenty-four hours?" I thought in my head confused.

My heart Continued to pound hard against my chest as I continued to walk away. "Why not just go back to him and be his mistress?" A voice kept ringing in my head but I wasn't going to do any of such. Death would be preferable.

I walked away slowly and aimlessly without even a place to rest my head for the night. "I could no longer control the tears that had formed in my eyes and I let them down slowly.

"It's alright to cry, Selina," I said to myself but I was not going to end my life as other people would think, I was going to face all this head on and I was sure that I was going to come out Victorious. A long sigh escaped from my mouth.

It was already late at night and I had to find somewhere to rest my head for the night. I went beneath an oak tree and I made a bed with the leaves and I laid on it.

I kept thinking about the large sum of money that I was owning and the fact that I had already been given time to pay. I heaved a deep sigh. Tomorrow was going to take care of itself.

I slept off on the floor but a few minutes Into my sleep, I began to hear an odd noise in the forest but I could not tell where it was coming from.

I could feel my heart beating hard against my chest as my face spun in an eighty-degree motion, waiting to see who was with me in the forest.

"Who could that have been?" I thought in my head confused. I continued to stare and I saw three men advancing into the Forest with a chained dog in their hands. "There she is." I heard one of them saying and my heart skipped a lot of beats.

"Who are they and why were they searching for me?" I thought in my head.

They continued to advance towards me while I fell backward. I would have to run away from them before they caught up with me. I turned around to leave almost immediately but I noticed that I was already surrounded

"Where do you think that you are going to?" One of the men shot at me with a thick glare hanging on his face.

"What do you want from me?" I shot back at him while he continued to stare angrily at me. "Don't worry, you will soon find out." He returned to me and continued to advance towards me while I fell backward until my back met with the man that was behind me.

"There is nowhere for you to run to now so you better submit to us." She at me and held me tightly by my hands while I continued to struggle with him but I could not break free from his strong grip.

"What do you want from me?" I shot at him while they continued to stare at me.

"Don't worry, when you get to the Alpha, you will find out." He returned to me and they began to pull me away.

At the sound of the word, I could feel my heart beating hard against my chest. "Not him again," I said to myself and I could not help but shiver hard with fear.
