Rust-1789

The trees moved in front of the small wind that ran that day. The sun was friendly and comfortably warm, making the day even more gracious.

Everyone in the Hamilton's large and sprawling house was doing their homework, while Kate was invited to walk in the woods near her house by her good friend Harry.

Harry had arrived in the small town of Rust a little over 2 years ago. Her handsome appearance caught the attention of Rust's maidens. But oddly enough, the boy had liked the girl more than everyone wanted. Kate Hamilton.

After making the Hamiltons meet the Voltremys or Vontres, Harry and Kate became best friends. Which Kate's father had trusted only him.

"So dear Mr. Voltremys..." Kate smiled. "What is the reason for your visit and invitation to take a walk?" Harry smiled and put both of his hands behind his back.

- Seeing a friend is not enough? - Kate looked at the blue sky and smiled even more. - I want to apologize for my attitude three days ago.

"Don't worry." Kate smiled taking his hand. "He's a very handsome boy, Mr. Harry." You'll find someone who matches.” Kate let go of his hand and walked back.

Kate should have known that Harry was never a man who was told no. Or a maybe. He would always get what he wanted.

- Even so, I must apologize for my manners.- he walked back along with Kate- Our family will spend Thanksgiving and Christmas together. We should be fine.

"Yes. That's why we're fine, aren't we?" Kate lifts her pinky and smiles at Harry. He immediately hooked his finger into hers as well.

"I have something to tell you." Kate jumped twice and stopped in front of Harry.

-Wow... - Harry smiled, infected with Kate's joy.

"I'm going to meet Tom. My betrothed." Kate turned away giving a passionate sigh. "Isn't that amazing?"

All Harry's joy and any hint of a smile was gone. Harry had hope in himself that with a few moves from him, he would get Kate's love.

"I wasn't really expecting this," he forced a smile. "You're pretty excited, aren't you?" He followed her as they started walking again.

"Like what?" Kate looks quickly at Harry, then turns her attention to the flower she smells.

- Marriage. Like that.

- They gave me a choice. - Kate looks at Harry - Although you know very well that he likes the rules. - She plucked the flower and came close to Harry - But I feel that he and I are a soul mate.- she handed the flower to him pointing to her red hair. - Have you ever felt this for someone?

Harry adjusted the white flower that made a more than beautiful contrast to the young woman's red hair.

"Yes." He smiled catching the lock of her hair.

- It's magical, isn't it?- Kate goes back to walking among the flowers.

- Yes. But magic is trick. And the trick is not always really cool.

"True," Kate smiled.

Harry watched the young woman in her 19th year, but with the innocence of a child of 6. He liked that innocence, the ability to forgive. Humanity lived in it. Humanity that only she could put in him.

"Do you believe in vampires Kate?" Harry asked suddenly making the redhead look at him.

- I do not know. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.- She came to him- Do you believe?

- It depends.

- It depends? What answer is that? - he smiled making Harry laugh too.

- The only thing I know is that they have eternity and that's cool.

- Nobody wants to live eternity Harry. - She filled the boy's hair - Eternity is too long. Live too much. Too many years - she sighed - Can you imagine seeing people you love die and not being able to do anything?

- You can change her. - Harry fixes his hair - That way everyone will live forever.

"Still too long." The girl takes Harry's arm and pulls him back to her house.

After this conversation Harry returns home finding Davis and Ster in the living room watching TV.

- How was it there? - Davis is the first to speak.

"Nothing new." Harry started up the stairs.

- When will you transform it? It's past time, don't you think? - Ster gets up from the couch and goes to the boy.

- It's end of year Ster. Want to draw attention and get burned alive?-Harry stops and looks at the young bankrupt woman despite her age at the transformation.

"I'm already dead." She turned her back on him.

- And you'll die again if you make an idiot like that.

"Are you in love Harry?" Davis turns his head towards Harry.

- Don't talk nonsense. I'm not in love with the idiot human." He descended the steps he had already climbed. "I'm preserving our skins so we don't die. Now if you'll excuse me I have more to do.

Harry goes up the stairs again entering his room.

The lies Harry was telling were hidden behind his hard vampire shell. He had been in love with Kate from the moment she stepped out of her carriage as he was arriving downtown.

- Moving your apology. -the girl sitting at his window looked at him with her red eyes- I almost was…- she made a passionate face.- Jealousy.- Harry looks at the woman who is now coming towards her.

"Was he watching us?" Harry takes hold of the woman's hair.

- It disgusts me to see that she is so innocent. - the young woman turns her back and touches her nails - I think eternity will do you good. What's your problem?

- What are you talking about? - Harry speaks with difficulty.

- I want Kate transformed for yesterday you idiot.- the redhead comes closer to him getting face to face.

"I'm going to trans..." The redhead tightens her grip on Harry's neck.

- I thought you were in love with me Harry. Not for Kate. Why does everything have to be hers? - The young woman's red eyes looked at Harry.

- I love you Anne. Only you.- Harry comes close to her and caresses her face.

- Then transform her. Because if I don't, I'll do it myself and I'll still drive a stake through her heart. No pity,” she said in a whisper.

As she appeared, Anne disappeared.

Harry didn't have a choice. He loved Anne just as he was falling in love with Kate.

He needed to do it.

You need Kate for parenthood. Be his forever.
