Cecilia felt like she was in a daze, her mind struggling to process the bombshell Japheth had just dropped. Even Seth, who was supposed to be his interpreter, seemed taken aback by the revelation. With a furrowed brow, Cecilia stood up from the bed, her eyes locking with Japheth's in disbelief.

"Aren't you gay?" she blurted out, unable to contain her confusion any longer. Seth's laughter filled the room, a stark contrast to the tension that hung in the air.

"Gay? If he was gay, how did Nicki come about? Did she fall from the sky?" Seth quipped, his amusement evident in his voice.

"Get well soon and come marry my daddy!" she exclaimed, her innocent declaration catching everyone off guard. Seth froze in his tracks, disbelief written all over his face as he turned to face Nicki, his heart pounding with excitement.

"Did you just talk?" he asked eagerly, his voice tinged with disbelief. But to his dismay, Nicki remained silent, her lips pressed tightly together as if unwilling to divulge her newfound ability.

Undeterred, Seth raced to the waiting car where his brother, Japheth Ramos, sat with an air of cold indifference. "Mike, Nicki just talked! She spoke to Miss Cecilia!" Seth exclaimed, his words tumbling out in a rush of excitement.

But Japheth's expression remained unchanged, his icy demeanor giving nothing away. "What nonsense are you brewing?" he demanded, his voice laced with anger as he dismissed Seth's claims without a second thought.

Frustrated, Seth persisted, his conviction unwavering despite his brother's skepticism. "I know what I'm saying, Mike! Your daughter, Nicki Ramos, just spoke to Miss Cecilia!" he insisted, desperation creeping into his voice.

For a moment, it seemed as though Japheth might relent, his cold facade cracking ever so slightly as Seth recounted Nicki's surprising words. But instead of the reaction Seth had hoped for, Japheth's response caught him off guard.

"So her name was Cecilia? Beautiful name!" he remarked casually, his tone devoid of emotion as he climbed into the car and drove away, leaving Seth standing dumbfounded by the roadside.

Cecilia scurried up from her sick bed, she had forgotten about the audition, it will be starting by 10am, she still had time, its 9:30am.

She took off the hospital gown and hurriedly dress up in her shabby dress, she rushed outside and met Seth still at the car pack, she decided to avoid him and proceed.

She stepped outside the hospital to hail a cab when a car stopped in front of her, and Nicki stick her head out

“Hello Miss Cecilia?

Cecilia was surprised, this father and daughter duo are something, how did they know she just came out of the hospital? She waved to Nicki and made to dash away but the car reversed and stopped before her again.

“come in for a moment”she heard the cold voice of Japheth Ramos said.

She checked her wrist watch and the time was 9:35 am.

“I cant come this far to loose this audition for Carina, this man will make me loose its better I tell him off now” she thought then hop into is car

"ah sorry, I have a very important audition coming up later, I have to go there very fast so can you be quick with your words? She spit her words quickly and prepared to sneak away.

Japheth Ramos gave her a pen and paper, and looked at her from the rear mirror, Cecilia received the paper but 'what to do with it? If he wanted my contact number then he would have given me his phone or collected my own phone? What to do with this paper?'

She looked at him too in the rear mirror, and after the death awaiting gaze, he spoke up,

“Could I trouble Miss Cecilia to leave a note for Nicki so that she can stop worrying about you?

'my life comes to an end now, 9:40!'

“yes, yes, no problem” she replied and quickly scribed some word on the piece of paper

'I can even write one million words right now if that will make me be free from you'

Once done writing, deathly afraid of the sudden turn of things she opened the door and sprinted off then halted a cab and hop in.

Watching her attitude, the mad a deep sigh, he knew he was making a very deadly and lovely decision by asking her to marry him.

The audition was already at its peak when Cecilia arrived, as she entered the hall, she could see Miss Rita and Carina smiling at each other like two happy kids.

They were surrounded by crowds who came to cheer Carina on.

Carina saw Cecilia from afar and gave a deity looking down on an ant gaze, Carina walked off majestically towards the next exit seems she was done with the audition.

But she wasn’t too late.

Cecilia mingled with actresses in waiting and asked them “are my late? But the look they gave her was demeaning and uncomfortable, its bound to happen like that anyways oppression and hatred is rampant in the entertainment industry.
