"Dad, did you just slap me? Fredrick asked

"Yes, and I will do it again and again because you have gone mad, what the heck did Rina give to you? That got you so blind not to see the handwriting on the wall?.

Father complained.

For the first time, I saw him angered by his son's behavior, Fredrick seems not to care, he gets defensive and said, "do you want to know, I'll tell you? Rina gave me love, she showered me with true love, That is what she gave to me.

I had no desire to butt into their conversation, but his words pushed me to, I stumped closer and said,  "oh wow!! Rina gave you true love? Then what exactly did I give to you? Fake love, because we know how much I sacrificed to make this relationship work, and in return, my husband, paid me back with nothing but heartache, is this fair!! Do I deserve to be treated in such a manner?.

I ran a depressing look,  hoping that might snap him back to his senses, rather he mocked me by laughing, and when his laughter seized he said, "please!! Don't make me feel sorry for you, because I know you're only putting on a show and if you think, your sappy story will make me feel sorry!! Then, my dear ex-wife, you're highly mistaken.

(Continues talking)

"I don't care about you, neither do I give a damn, if your heart is broken Into a million pieces,  please go over to my brother and act the damsel in distress, but please get the hell out of my life".

Wait, what?.

Fredrick's words were like a raging fire in my heart, my eyes teared up, but I had to be strong because, in life, shit happens and I make this promise to expose Rina and get revenge for the humiliation caused by her and mostly by the man I thought loved me, even though it ends up taking my life, that bitch Rina, needs a beat down and I'll make sure to hit her where it hurts.

(That's my head talking, as we quietly looked at each other).

"You know what, I have had enough of your tantrums and to show you how much am willing to send you also straight to hell, I'll walk over there and sign the papers".

I strolled and dicked up the divorce papers Chris tossed on the floor, he once again attempted to stop me but father held him back.

They all watched me pin my signature in the divorce papers.

Mr.khan left after I signed mine and while he leaves, I veered and walked to my room.

I won't shed a tear for a piece of shit like Fredrick,

"My child, May I come in?".

Father asked standing at the door.

I hid my face and he walks in, thinking I had been crying.

"Oh!! Thank God, I thought you've been crying your eyes out".

He smiles a little.

I copied his smile and said,  "of cause not,  I am fine dad, I will be fine".

(THE SAME DAY)

I walked out to the dining table and met everyone seated, Chris shoots me a warm smile and asked me to the seat next to him.

(Silence takes place, while we kept eating)

Although we said not a word to each other, our minds did that for us, I looked as we all pretended everything was fine.

Father began to shake at the table.

"Are you okay Dad?". I asked.

He nods and clears his throat.

I was the first person to leave, I looked away when I heard something drop heavily behind.

I turned back and found father foaming out from the mouth.

We rushed him to the hospital,  the nurses takes him to the emergency room.

We were asked to wait outside and while waiting Frederick falls his back on the wall,  while Chris paced anxiously.

(An hour passed)

The doctor walks out, spewing our eyes to him, "what's going on doctor!! Is father going okay?" I got up from the bench.

The doctor shook his head and said, " ERM!! I am sorry to you tell you but based on our medical report, Mr. Ricardo. was poisoned".

We went still for some minute, how the heck was father poisoned? or better yet, who poisoned him?".  I got the answer to my question, when my eyes falls on Rina, out of the burning anger I felt within, I attacked her at the hospital.

Both brothers strived to pull us apart, but I was so determined to remove her hair from her head, luckily Chris dragged me off.

"Sophia, please calm down" he kept on holding me.

Rina place a hand on her face and saw a scratch on her face, "how dare you!!! Are you mad? Look at what you have done to my face".

She grumbled.

Frederick yanked her closer and saw the same, he stumped out to get a hold of me, rather Chris pulls him away, "brother!! I respect you a lot, but if you dare take another step closer to Sophia, I will forget you're my brother and I will retaliate in a way, you won't ever be able to forget".

He advised.

"Oh really,  my younger brother now wants to fight me, how lovely huh,". (sarcasm)

Chris looks back and takes me with him, we walked out of the hospital.

(Outside the hospital)

"Seat"

He sits me down on a bench outside the hospital and protested "what the hell is wrong with you? Why did you attack Rina in such a manner?". He frowned.

I got up and said, "are you asking, Do you think, I will seat and watch Rina kill the man who has given me nothing but love, despite his son's infidelity".

(Continues talking)

"No!! I won't sit and watch that happen, and I don't care if Rina eats and spits Fredrick away, all I need right now is to protect the ones that I care about and cares about me too".

I angrily kicked a stone on the ground.

"I do understand, but this isn't the way to do this". He says.

"What, How do you mean?" I asked, and he replied, "what I mean is that we need a plan to expose Rina for the fraud she is and also open Fredrick's eyes too.

(Continues talking)

"I have a plan! First, we need to gather evidence against her and secondly, make sure under no circumstances, she finds out about this, lastly,  Fedrick should be kept in the dark, when it's time, the truth of the woman he allegedly loves, will be exposed to him but now, let's go in there and see how our father is doing".

(Inaudible conversation)

Chris and I spend the whole day at the hospital, he asked me to go back home to get some fresh new clothes for dad, and after a long drive, I walked in  and saw the whole mansion was decorated

what the heck is going on?.

I slowly moved further and on my way up to my bedroom, I bumped into   Karis,  one of the helpers at home.

I asked her why the mansion is being decorated and she said Rina had planned a huge celebration for Fredrick's birthday.

She walks away afterward, still on party decorations.
