Dangerous game

The next morning the door of Daniel Brooke's room was pushed open from the outside and Henry August walked inside the room. Daniel Brooke was sipping coffee sitting on the sofa.

Henry August locked the door behind him and went towards Daniel Brooke and greeted him "Good morning Boss."

"Finally you got time to show yourself."

He lifted his gaze and looked at Henry August with a smirk.

He patted on the sofa and said "Come and sit here."

Henry August sat down on the sofa and said "Boss the photographs and video are authentic. They have not tampered."

Daniel Brooke tilted his head, looked at his assistant, and smiled coyly. His expression was sinister.

Henry August swallowed a mouthful of saliva to see such expression of his Boss and a chillwave ran through all over his body causing his hairs to stand from head to toe. He thought how dangerous his Boss is.

There was a silence for a few moments.

Daniel Brooke leaned back on the sofa and asked "What about Neil Green?"

"Neil Green used to work here in IBM. He went to the 'Y' city a few months ago. But no one knows where he is in there. As he was working in an IT company here our men searched for him in almost all IT companies there but they can't find him. He is like a ghost, just disappeared in thin air as if he never existed in 'Y' city."

Daniel Brooke chuckled, shook his head, and sneered "Just disappeared? Like our mysterious man?"

Henry August was dumbfounded and thought, in this situation also his Boss knew how to joke. He was in house arrest, how could he live at ease? He shook his head. He can never understand his Boss.

He was snatched back to the reality by Daniel Brooke's next words "Talk to Anna Green. Maybe she knows where he worked in 'Y' city and also find out when did he leave 'X' city."

Henry August was listening very carefully. He thought of something and asked him "Boss, why are you so interested in Neil Green?"

"You will know once you find him out."

He was sure enough that his Boss is hiding something. He realized that his Boss is not interested in Neil Green because of Lisa. There is something with this man that attracted his Boss.

He nodded and said, "I'll try my best."

"Did you prepare everything for the case?"

"Yes, Boss. Everything is ready."

"Is there any news of Albert Harrison?"

"Now a day he is not partying with his friends and he is not seen in his friend's circles also."

Daniel Brooke frowned, narrowed his eyes, and asked in shock "What?"

He emerged in deep thought. After sometimes he continued "Be careful. Keep your eyes and ears open. Maybe you are being followed by the people of Senator. You have to be more careful. Stop looking for Neil Green also as off now."

Henry August was stunned. A shiver ran down through his spine. His hands were shaking in fear. He knew Senator Michael Harrison is very powerful and dangerous, but never feared off him like this. When he heard his Boss's words he was scared to death. He nodded and said, "I'll remember."

He handed over the pen drive to Daniel Brooke and said "Then I'll take my leave."

"Hmm."

When He came outside he saw David Allen standing outside the room. David Allen locked the door from outside as soon as he came out of the room. He glanced at him and shook his head helplessly.

When he was about to leave he heard David Allen saying "Why Master Daniel went in 'Y' city all of a sudden?"

He stopped on the spot and said without turning back "This is nothing to do with you."

David Allen walked around him, and said coldly "If it is nothing to do with me then Master Daniel will not be locked up here in his own house."

Henry August fixed his gaze at David Allen and said indifferently "You are overreacting."

"Overreacting? Your actions are suspicious and I am only trying to know the truth. Do you call this overreaction?"

Henry August chuckled and sneered "If you want to know so much then find it out by yourself. Don't bother me."

"I will."

"Good luck."

He left after saying this. But before he could go a few steps he heard David Allen's deep voice "Wait."

He stopped and turned around to face him who was staring at him. His eyes were full of concern.

Henry August couldn't help but ask him "What is the meaning of this look?"

"Do you have any idea how dangerous game you are playing?"

He rolled his eyes and said "I can take care of myself. Thank you for your concern."

He was about to leave but his arm was grabbed by David Allen and he heard him saying "Henry, you are my sister's only son. She can't live if anything happens to you."

Henry August turned around with a frown, brushed off his hand, and glared at him.

David Allen continued to speak "You need to be very careful. If you see anything suspicious just call me. I am only one call away. Remember this."

Henry August shrugged his shoulder and said angrily "I don't need your help and care."

He turned around and left hurriedly immediately after saying this without giving David Allen any chance to say.

David Allen stared at the leaving figure of Henry August and sighed helplessly.

Henry August drove away from the Brooke mansion. On the way, he was thinking about all the things that his Boss and David Allen told him. He became very restless and increased the speed of his car. He wanted to reach his house as soon as possible.

After a few minutes of driving, he reached his apartment. He parked the car and rushed inside. But when he opened the door and entered the house his eyes were wide open in shock.

His house was in a mess. All the things were scattered in the living room. The sofa was turned over, all magazines, books, files were scattered on the floor. Even the kitchen was in mess. All the utensils were lying on the floor. The cupboard of the kitchen was wide open and things inside were also in mess.

He ran towards his bedroom only to see messy bed sheets, pillows on the ground. His cupboard was wide open and all his clothes are scattered on the ground.

Henry August was panicking and held his head with his hands and said "What happened here?"

He looked around his room in shock and rubbed his chin in nervousness. He quickly regained his sense and dialed Daniel Brooke's number. The phone was connected quickly.

"Hello."

He hurriedly explained to Daniel Brooke "Boss, someone searched my home. My house is all in mess now. What should I do?"

"Come here immediately."

He rushed to the parking lot immediately after hanging up the call and drove away to BrookeMansion.

On the way, he sensed that one black sedan is following him. He glanced at the rearview mirror in time to time to confirm his doubt. Very soon he realized that the car was indeed following him.

He got panicked and increased speed. The car behind him also increased the speed. He was taking left and right turns to get rid of the car but the car was still following him.

He took a sharp left turn and drove at high speed. He was overtaking one after another car. He saw the signal from afar. The green light will turn off within eight seconds. He increased his speed to cross the signal and just before one second left he crossed the signal. He glanced at the rearview mirror and saw the car which was following him was stuck in the signal. He heaved a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from his forehead. He then drove away quickly to the Brooke mansion.

Very soon he reached the Brooke mansion and rushed towards Daniel Brooke's room.
