The new girl

⚜️CRYSTAL⚜️

It's a new day and I have to start a new school, Dad had also mentioned a nanny.

I'm not very happy to be having a nanny because I always think every woman is bad due to my mum's attitude. I am very scared my nanny would not really care about me like my mum.

I have never had one before and I could tell that the stress of taking care of me was becoming too much on Dad so I accepted to have a nanny just to make things less stressful for him.

Do you think my new nanny would be able to do my pony tail like Dad? Will she make my omelette as good as Dad's?

Will she really protect me like dad would have? Do you think I will like my nanny? I just hope to get along with her.

I had dressed up while dad was packing my lunch box, I had my school bag backed waiting for him to put my strawberries in my box.

When he was done packing my lunch box, he held it in one hand while adjusting his tie with the other hand.

We soon got into the car and he began driving to my new school.

"Dad, who will pick me up after school?" I asked looking at him.

"You will use to school bus, it will drop you off at front of the house everyday." he answered concentrating on driving.

"When would my nanny be resuming?" I asked again.

"Probably today or tomorrow." he answered, this time, he looked up at me and asked, "Do you have a problem with that?"

I forced a smile and answered, "Of course not Dad, I can't wait to see her."

He smiled at me soothing my hair quickly and said, "That's my girl!"

We soon arrived at my new school, the gate opened wide and Dad drove in, he then parked his car at the parking lot and we got off.

I looked around as we walked down the compound, it was indeed a beautiful school.

I never had issues with the schools Dad chooses for me but I always have issues with my classmates and I would barely have any friend before I leave the school.

We got to the entrance of the class, a young lady was standing at the entrance.

"Good morning sir, how are you little girl?" The lady asked.

"I am fine ma'am." I answered.

"Good morning madam, this is my child Crystal, I came to register her yesterday and I was told she would be resuming today." Dad said to the lady.

"Very well sir, I had been informed about it, as a matter of fact, she's the one I was waiting for here in order to usher her in.

"I am Miss Rose and I will be her class tutor." The lady replied.

"Oh! How nice of you madam. Please take very good care of Crystal for me and do not hesitate to give me a call when she needs anything.

"My contacts had been registered with the school principal." I heard dad said to my new tutor.

"You have no cause to worry sir, she's in safe hands." My tutor smiled and replied Dad.

Dad handed me my lunch box asking me our normal line, "Now, what are you?"

I smiled and replied him, "Daddy's girl!"

"Good! Make sure you listen to your tutor and be a good girl okay?" he asked.

I nodded my head and dad continued, "Don't forget that Dad loves you princess." Dad said as he bent over and gave me a kiss on my forehead.

I quickly returned the kiss before he could stand up and said, "I love you more Dad."

Dad stood up waving me goodbye as he started walking towards the parking lot while my new tutor ushered me in.

I marvelled at the sight of my new classroom, it was so big, beautiful and colourful. "I love this classroom!" I thought in my head.

I stood in front of the class with Miss Rose as she coughed to get the attention of my new classmates who had been busy reading because she wasn't in the class before.

"Everyone, we have a newcomer, please introduce yourself." Miss Rose said.

I smiled bowing briefly and said, "Good morning everyone, I am Adrian Crystal, I look forward to getting along with you all."

Like always, I normally have issues with my new classmates, I don't know if they all hate me at first sight, and so this time again, after my introduction, I only heard few applauses.

Miss Rose smiled at me and said to my classmates, "Now, who wants to share a seat with miss Crystal?"

I looked up in anticipation to get at least five hands up out of about thirty pupils in the class but to my greatest surprise, I got only one hand up? Now I'm in for a real trouble.

I knew I always have issues with my classmates but my other schools was not as bad as only one person signifying to share her seat with me.

"Thank you Miss Vivian, you can go ahead and join her Miss Crystal." I heard Miss Rose said and I began walking up to the only one person who had offered me a seat.

I saw the girl adjusting her stuffs in the locker so I would have access to the locker too.

I sat next to Vivian and I said, "Thank you."

Vivian smiled at me and replied, "You're welcome Crystal. I am Vivian but my mother calls my Vee so you can call me Vee."

Wow! I love her name, I love her smile, I love the way she talks, she seems to be my agemate.

I think this time, even if I have issues with my other classmates, I won't have issues with this particular girl.

Miss Rose tutored us arithmetic before the music tutor came in, when we were done, it was time for lunch.

Some of my classmates began going out of the class to get themselves lunch but I don't need to do that, I have a superdad who packed me sandwiches, pineapp juice and strawberries.

I brought out my lunch box and began with the sandwich, occasionally sipping my orange juice, but while everyone was going out to get lunch or bringing out their lunch boxes, Vee rested her head on the locker, shutting her eyes tight but I could tell she wasn't sleeping.

I placed a gentle hand on her shoulder and asked, "Aren't you gonna take lunch?"

She opened her eyes and answered, "I'm fine."

"Oh! No! You can't be fine without taking lunch, where's your lunch?" I questioned.

"I don't take lunch, I will eat when I get home." I heard Vee answered me.

I was surprised, how could someone not take lunch and be fine?

Remembering the fact that she was the only one who offered me a seat, I knew I should offer her some of my lunch.

"Do you mind sharing mine?" I asked but surprisingly, Vee looked away and said, "I don't need your pity."

"Oh! No! Vee, I just wanted to be a friend and nothing more." I replied.

"A friend?" Vee asked looking at me.

"Yes, a friend." I answered.

The next thing I saw was tears in Vee's eyes which made me asked surprisingly, "What!? Why are you crying?"

"It's because no one in this school has ever wanted to be friends with me, they bully me because I came from a poor home." Vee answered.

"Oh! I see, but you know what Vee? We are on the same boat. I don't have friends in my previous schools too and I was so happy when you offered to share your seat with me.

"I think we are compatible, why don't we be best of friends?" I asked hoping for a positive response.

Vee looked up at me and asked, "You don't mind been friends with a poor girl?"

I nodded positively as I answered, "I don't mind at all."

She asked again, "Really?"

"Yes Vee." I answered.

The next thing I felt was Vee's arms around my waist hugging me and I immediately hugged her in return before we let go of each other.

"Can we now share the lunch?" I asked her.

"With all pleasure." Vee answered picking a sandwich with a smile on her face.
