⚜️DONALD⚜️
I was setting the table for dinner watching Crystal across the table with her cutleries ready in her hand, I love to see the anxiousness in her face when she wants to have her Dad's omelette.
Did you just think if I should be the one doing this? Of course I should! I'm the only one my Crystal knows as her mother and father.
I am her mother, father, teacher, gist partner, study mate, babysitter, chef and every other thing you could imagine.
Her mother? Grace is just one useless woman who doesn't care about us, of course I don't love her too, I met her by chance and had a one night stand with her.
Drunkily that same night, I had given her my contacts and we parted ways the next morning only for her to come back few weeks after to tell me she missed her period.
I was like, WTF! Shouldn't a runs know how to take care of herself? She must have lusted after me the night we met and she's trying to force herself on me.
I knew it's a sin to get rid of the growing festus in her womb, we had a small wedding at the registry few months before she had Crystal.
You would be thinking it's wrong to marry a runs right?
To say the truth, I was blinded by broken heart at first and I wanted to do anything to get over my heartbreak, but as time passes on, I realized that you are right.
Marrying a runs was the worst decision I ever took in my entire life because Grace didn't only go back to her overnight business where I had actually met her, but she also went as far as leaving a three months old Crystal with me who had no experience in nursing a baby.
You would be wondering how I survived nursing Crystal all alone right?
I grew into a better one through trial and error and of course I am a fast learner. You can't possibly imagine all the things I have learnt how to do now cause of Crystal.
Now, I can make the best pony tail you can't imagine, I can braid Crystal's long hair into braids or even bun, I make the best sandwiches, what about omelette? Crystal would cry me a river if I don't make it for her when she wants it.
Since the first day Crystal came to this world, the moment I took her in my hands, I loved her so very much and she became the only one best gift I got from Grace.
Now you would know why I named her Crystal? Yes that's right, she's more than a gem to me.
It had been a great deal of stress but I tell you that my darling Crystal was worth the stress.
She's charmingly smart, cute would be an understatement, she's highly intelligent and inquisitive, you won't believe the kind of questions my six year old Crystal asks me, sometimes I think she's too matured for her age.
I'm so sorry it took me so long to introduce my family and most especially Crystal to you, if time permits, I could talk about her the whole day without getting tired.
Back to the moment, I served Crystal her plate of omelette sitting instantly next to her as I said, "Dig in princess."
She smiled widely exposing her two remaining milk teeth and said, "Bon Appetit dad."
I told you she talks beyond her age plus the fact that she likes to show off that she's been well tutored in French language in her previous school.
Yes, previous school because work brought us back to California where I had actually lived most of my life before travelling to San Francisco to start up another phase of my life.
Actually, I and Crystal left for San Francisco when she was three, we left because we didn't want Grace to find us.
Grace comes and goes as she deems fit, she left when Crystal was three months and she came back when she was three, what for?
We don't need her anymore, we were doing just fine without her but she was persistent and didn't want to leave, she kept claiming we are married and she's still my wife.
Of course she's still my wife because I haven't divorced her yet and that's because I was still giving her the benefit of the doubt that she might change.
And you know, there would be a particular time that Crystal would need a mother figure, like when her puberty begins.
But at that moment, I still want to avoid my so called wife so I had my job transferred to San Francisco and ran away from my useless wife.
But now, what choice do we have when work had brought us back to California? It's only a matter of time, Grace would find us again.
Back to the moment, What's my rate today princess?" I asked.
"It's a hundred!" I heard her blurted out.
"And that means it's so good right?" I asked again.
"Absolutely!" She said eating from my plate playfully.
I smiled and poured mine into hers and said, "You can have it all princess."
"Yay!!" She shouted.
I could feel that her happiness knows no bounds.
"Say ah!!" She said holding out to me a fork full of omelette.
I let her feed me, I know how happy that can make her feel.
Seeing Crystal eat happily, I was giving myself some accolades, I can't believe I made her grow up so well.
"Princess, can I talk to you?" I called her out but she instantly cut me off as she said, "Rule number one, don't talk while eating."
I turned my head away from her and murmured, "Sorry, your highness."
I watched her finished her food and drank her juice. She cleared the table and came back to meet me at the dinning.
"I am full! Thank you Dad." She said standing on her toes to peck me.
"Now, what are you?" I asked her our normal line.
"Daddy's girl!" She blurted out with her face full of smiles.
I then raised her up, sitting her on the table directly in front of me as I said, "You would be starting a new school tomorrow, I'm sorry for always changing your school princess."
"Don't be sorry, just always be here to make me the best omelette." She said looking down as she draws all sorts of tattoo on my leg with the tip of her finger.
"Are you really happy princess? Look at me." I said getting worried. I love to do only what makes her happy.
Looking up at me instantly with a smile that almost frozed my heart, she blurted out, "I am happy! I will be meeting new friends again!"
Oh! I almost got scared that she doesn't like me changing her school every now and then without knowing that my little princess was only playing around with me.
"Now, I have a surprise for you." I said.
My Crystal asked anxiously, "What is it dad?"
"I got you a babysitter!" I said expecting what her reaction would be.
She caught me off guard when she answered, "But I am not a baby anymore dad, I am six already, I am a big girl!"
"Don't forget that no matter how old you are, you will forever remain daddy's girl." I said to win her over.
"But I am your princess dad, I don't need a babysitter!" She replied me with a look that shows she isn't convinced.
I know I can't win against my young professor so I'd rather try something else.
"You know I might still be working when you would close from school, you will need someone to receive you when you come back from school and stay with you at home till I am back.
"Someone who can make your omelette better than I do, someone who will take care of you in my absence, I don't want anything coming near you remember?
"I am doing this so I would be able to work freely knowing fully well that you are in safe hands, it's all for your sake princess."
"Then she would be my nanny because I am not a baby and I don't need babysitting." She said giving me a peck on my forehead before saying, "Night!"
She got off the table and headed straight to her room.
"Good night princess!" I said to her as she walked towards her room.
