Chapter 5

After getting a little sleep last night, I woke up so tired, I didn't want to get up. But I had.

I woke tiara up too, so we get ready and have something to eat.

We head downstairs to find Jacob, olive, and my parents at the dinner table.

We sit down with them.

My parents kept the awkward silence so they tried to make the conversation happen, me and tiara look at each other hold back a laugh.

"Alice how's a university," my mom asked as I look at her and smile.

"It's going okay, just a lot of work," I said.

"How about your tiara," my mom asked.

"I love it, yes the workload is a lot but I'm enjoying the university experience," she said.

"I remember my university days, that's where I meet my husband, don't close your self to anything, go out there and have fun your young," my mom said.

One thing I love about my best friend is that I can't make conversation to save my life but with her, she can talk for days and that's why sometimes she comes in hand.

Like now, if it wasn't for her we have been sitting in awkward silence until someone leaves.

"Exactly miss Richard, at this point in my life I just want to have fun while also not falling back on my studies, and if in that journey I meet the one then so be it," she said as my mom shakes her head in a sign of agreement.

My mom and tiara continue to talk about life and university while the rest of us just shake our heads in agreement with them.

Jacob sat across from me, we didn't look at each other. Half of the time he was on his phone then later he steps out when he got a call.

Later that day, tiara left to go home.

She came back the next morning.

"Girl you wouldn't believe what happened," she said as I stopped the movie.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Saw Jacob kissing a girl who isn't his girlfriend," she said.

For a second I thought she saw me and him but that can't be possible because I and him kissed in this house.

Part of me felt hurt, but then again, he is a player. And weren't together so I shouldn't care.

I really shouldn't but I do.

"Hello," Tiara said, waving her hand near my face.

"Did you hear what I said?" she said.

"Yes, I did," I said as I smiled.

"Are you okay?" she said.

"Hell yeah," I said.

"I just can't believe she was right, that man is a liar and a cheater," she said.

"This isn't our business," I said.

"I know but I don't want you to be the next victim," she said.

"I won't be," I said as I got up.

"I need to go get some fresh air," I said as I went outside, and started walking away from the house.

"Hey what is wrong?" she said.

I am so stupid.

Why didn't I allow myself to get used to it?

All his words stick to me like tattoos.

Falling for every word he says. Like an idiot.

"Alice calms down," she said as she hugs me.

"I'm sorry I won't ever tell you What Jacob does," she said.

"We kissed tiara; I'm falling for him," I said as she stepped back.

"Why Alice?" she said.

"We didn't plan it, it just happened, it won't happen again," I said.

"You are sure because you thought he would never talk to you or never kiss you, and he did," she said.

"I'm sure and I know," I said as she hugged me, and we walked back to the house.

She comforted me and then had to leave because her mom wanted her.
