Chapter 11 I'm Here for Mrs Benoit

“Let go of me” Elsida murmurs to the man and his grip on her waist loosens.

“You should know better than to grab a lady without consent,” she says as she turns to face him.

Some of her anger dissipates when her eyes take him in. To his advantage, he genuinely looked sorry and he was above-average-looking suddenly, an idea struck in Elsida’s head.

“I'm sorry, I wanted to ask you for a dance” he murmured sheepishly as he ran his hands through curly hair that lightly shaded his face.

He wasn't just average-looking he was handsome and Elsida knew he was just what she needed. After all, Julien had his fair share of fun too.

“I’ll take you up on that dance offer,” she said with a surly smirk spread across her lips.

His face spread into a wide grin as he took her hand and led her to a chamber. As they stalked to a red cube, she felt Julien’s lingering gaze at the back of her skull and a surge of adrenaline bolted down her spine.

“Show me what you can do Mia Cara” her dance partner murmured as his hands gripped her dance partner murmured as he grabbed her waist, his face resting leisurely beneath chest as he looked up at her.

Elsida gives him an indulging grin, without saying a word, she turns around and her eyes lock on Julien’s heated gaze through the glass.

After an agonizing minute, she starts to move against him, and his grip on her waist tightens, pulling her flush against him.

“You’re doing so good Mia Cara,” he said as he started to trail kisses on her neck.

Elsida wasn’t paying attention to his appraisal, her gaze was rooted to one person, the way Julien’s gaze followed every sway of her hip and the languid twirl of her body made her skin ignite.

She hated him but enjoyed the way his gaze made her feel powerful.

She turned around, facing her dance partner as she began to run her hands through his hair, she wanted to erase every thought of Julien and she hoped to God this was her saving grace.

Without a warning, she places a chaste kiss on his mouth and he welcomes her all teeth and tongue, his hands starting to trail to her upper body before she gripped it firmly.

“Let’s take this elsewhere” he rasped.

Elsida felt as though a bucket of ice was poured on her as she realized the gravity of her situation. She was dry-humping another guy to make Julien Jealous!

Julien of all people! The Julien who tormented her when she was younger? She gasped at her incredulity.

“Maybe some other time,” she said to the guy, giving him an apologetic look before she walked briskly out of the cube.

“Elsida darling I’ve been searching all over for you!” Anne slurred as Elsida approached her.

“Really? Because you look like you’ve had the time of your life,” she said, giving her friend a playful grin.

“I had to entertain myself somehow, you ditched me,” Anne said distractedly as she winked at the bartender.

“You don't seem to mind being ditched,” Elsida said as she wiggled her brows at Anne.

“Speaking of getting ditched, you left me for Julien didn't you?” she said with a knowing glint in her eyes.

Elsida felt her cheeks flame with embarrassment and guilt but Anne misinterpreted it.

“Oh my goodness!” she gushed tell me all about it.”

“It was nothing really” she murmured, not meeting her eyes.

How could she begin to explain that the last person she kissed was not her husband?

Even if she wanted to confide in Anne, the contract bound her from doing so, besides, no normal person would understand the dynamic of her relationship with Julien.

“Nonsense, the flush of your Cheeks says otherwise!” Anne said with an amused laugh.

If only she knew.

“I’m tired, can we call it a night?”

“Of course, let me ring my chauffeur,” Anne said as she pulled out her phone from her clutch.

They waited for an hour before the Chauffeur arrived and the alcohol had left Elsida’s system instead, replaced with fatigue and she found herself slumping against the bar top.

As they stepped out of the bar, she was glad Julien was nowhere to be found, she didn't need her traitorous body acting up again, not until she had full control of it.

She’d rather spend the night away from him.

“Can I spend the night with you?” she murmured as they got into the car.

Anne looked at her with surprise as they settled on the plush black seats.

“Darling I don't want to come in between you and Julien or whatever is happening”

“It's fine, I understand I just don't think bi can face him tonight” Elsida sighed helplessly as she focused her gaze on the lit-up city they passed by.

“Ughh how can I say no to you when put it like that”

“Thank you thank you Thank you!” Elsida said as she turned to face Anne, wrapping her arms around her.

“Just one night as soon as it’s morning you’re going to your husband,” Anne said sternly.

The husband was a weird way to put it, Elsida mused.

It was a long drive to Anne’s mansion but the last thing Elsida remembered was falling asleep

on Anne’s lap.

She didn't anticipate a loud knock on the window to startle her from her peaceful slumber.

“I’m here for Mrs Benoit” a deep voice rasped.
