Chapter 2

My initial shock was slowly replaced by curiosity. How in God's holy name did he get to the office before me? Was he some kind of magician?

I'm sure you've guessed it by now, it was a handsome hunk from earlier. Yes. The person I had a one night stand with, and ran away from, was my boss.

Things were a little bit complicated, how was I supposed to work for someone that was kissing me not too long ago. That is amongst other things.

I had to make a choice, forfeit the job or keep your chin up and work.

I cleared my throat loudly and said, “Good morning sir, my name is Erica Daniels and I'm your new assistant”

With his head still down he said to me, “Erica, you're late. First day on the job and you're already coming in late. Is this what I should expect in the period you'll be working for me?”

I was visibly shaking in anger, he could not even bother looking at me while talking to me.

“Sorry sir, I had good reason but it'll not happen again” I said pointedly, hoping he would get the message.

I guess he heard something else in my tone because finally he looked up at me. Surely, surprise painted his features and a small smile was playing in his lips.

“My, my. You can't seem to stay away from me can you?” He said, smirking. He was teasing me.

“Trust me. I didn't know any of this would happen when I took the job” I said I was fuming at this point.

He was finding this whole situation funny that much I could tell from his reaction.

“So you didn't know who I was last night when I ravaged you, this morning when you woke up in my arms and you still didn't bother to check who you were working for till the last minute. Are you that oblivious to the world?” He asked seriously.

“Look, I took this job because I'm sure of myself that I can do a great job and I have the referrals to prove it” I said.

I hated the way he was jumping to conclusions based on the events of the previous night.

He looked at me for a whole minute before he clapped his hands together, making me jump and then he stood up.

“Okay Ms Daniels, your desk is at the corner of the room and you're going to do most of your work from the computer at the desk. Go get acquainted and I'll tell you what next to do” he said walking around his desk and coming closer to me.

I nodded my head and followed his instructions and sat at the desk at the corner.

This was really comfy. The chair was always those hightech rotating ones. Fancy!

I put the computer on and the first thing I noticed was the email app was already opened but the whole desktop was disorganized.

I reached into my bag and pulled out my phone to charge it while I worked.

“Phones are always on silent when you're working. Is that clear?” He said.

“Yes sir” I noticed he was standing very close to me now.

“Now I'm going to show you what you're to do on a daily basis,” he said, casually leaning one arm on the back of my chair and one on the desk.

He was so close to me and I struggled to concentrate on what he was saying but I found his scent very distracting.

I knew I had lost focus on what I was supposed to do when I noticed the place was silent. He wasn't talking anymore. Oops.

“S–sorry sir I didn't catch what you said last” I said, a little embarrassed that I had let myself get distracted when I was supposed to be working.

He didn't say anything at first and just stared at me like he was in a trance. After a few seconds he seemed to snap out of it.

“I'm going to only repeat this one more time so make sure you pay attention okay?” He said, and I couldn't help but feel like he was talking to me like a toddler.

“Yes sir” I said. After that, I pretty much got a hang of it all. He even noticed I was doing well.

“Well done, Erica,” he said, praising me. That came as a surprise.

“Oh, uh, thank you sir” I said blushing shamelessly at the praises. I couldn't deny I had a praise kink.

“Normally, my assistant sets up meetings with possible investors or shareholders and you're to attend said meetings. But today you'll just listen as I do it and then you'll have to handle that one on your own” he said, already reaching for the phone.

“Yes sir” I said and went to stand close to his desk so I could listen as he made the call.

I listened intently as he made the call and even took down some notes.

I marveled at how easy it was for him to convince the person from the other side of the phone to meet with him and talk.

I also really enjoyed the commanding tone he had and it made me squirm a little in my pants.

Shortly, he ended the conversation and turned to look at me.

I was about to tell him I got everything I needed from the call and I could do it next time when I noticed the look he was giving me.

“W–why are you looking at me like that, Mr Petridis?” I asked him.

He gave me a once over that was so intimate, it made me clench my thigh once again.

Next thing I knew, he growled. Yes I said growling at me which freaked me out a little so I backed away from him and tried to make it back to my desk but he stopped me with one hand on my arm.

Breathing me in like it's the last breath he was going to take, everything he was doing was so strange to me.

“Erica, you smell so good when you're turned on,” he said. What the hell did he just say?
