Chapter 8: Without An Invitation II

Aria

“I'd like to go with Liam for tonight's show," I said to him Like I was asking for his permission, even though I never really needed it.

He bit his lower lips and nodded his head. He smacked his lips. “Be sure to take care of yourself though. Remember, no funny movement. Return home once the show is over," he instructed, and I nodded my head.

Gosh! He was so hot when he spoke staring directly into my eyes. I couldn't hold back my smile. I turned to Liam and put down the stuff in my hands.

"Let's go and get prepared, bestie," Liam said with a chuckle, and I smiled. I didn't want to hurt his feelings, but I wished I could tell him that I had a bigger mission to cover and I had limited time.

My parents will be coming back to the country soon, and that means my stay in Florida will come to an end. Well, I am Aria Rollins. I always get what I want, and now it's Uncle Lance. I'll get him eventually.

We walked for the short passage that led to the staircase, and Liam looked at me and smiled. I couldn't stop smiling.

“Liam!" We heard Uncle Lance's voice from behind, and then we both halted by the staircase. We turned around and found Uncle Lance coming directly towards us.

His gaze was fixated on Liam with so much intensity. He was furious.

He stood before Liam's face, staring deep into his soul. I saw Liam getting uncomfortable as his grip on my hand began to lessen.

“Aria here is my niece. Now I know that a lot of guys are only close to her because of her father's wealth. If you're one of such guys, thread carefully. If you don't bring her back to me in one piece tonight, I'll hunt you down wherever you are. Do you understand that?" Uncle Lance’s voice was like a thunderous roar.

I felt Liam trembling on his feet as he nodded imperceptibly.

I just knew that his soul must've left his body following that threat. I swallowed hard, and my gaze fixated on Uncle Lance. He wore a serious expression, his face was cold, consumed by jealousy and anger.

I could read the looks on his face. He envied Liam for being young and able to get me. Oh boy! I wished I could tell him how much I wanted him and I would sacrifice anything to fuck him. Not even Liam could hold me back.

“Good. Now we have a common understanding. You can go."

Liam held my hand tightly and turned around gently. I saw the tension on his face. He was scared as hell, and I found it amusing and almost burst into laughter. His expression was quite funny, he looked at Uncle Lance like he was staring at a predator.

“How long did you say you intend to stay in this house with Aria?" Uncle Lance asked out of the blue as we were walking away, and we turned around. My brows furrowed deeply.

“Huh?" I mumbled confused. What is he talking about? Stay in the house with me?

“Umm… I'll be here till whenever Aria intends to go back to New York, we'll go together. Besides, I live there, so we're good,” Liam said, and my jaw dropped open.

"Wait! You're gonna be living with us here throughout the holidays?" I asked confusedly. My eyes were wide as hell. I couldn't believe it.

“Yeah. Don't worry, you can thank me later. It's what friends do for each other," he said and smiled at me. I was dumbfounded.

Fuck! I looked back at Uncle Lance, and I saw him looking at me and he was probably waiting to hear what I had to say. I realized that he only asked the question to inform me of Liam's plans.

I didn't know what to do. I didn't want Liam in the house. It was game over. There's nothing fun about it when. I can't complete my mission. My goodness! Why did Liam come at this time?

I felt irritated by his presence, but he was my bestie. What should I do?

I was confused. I couldn't take my eyes away from Uncle Lance.

I saw his gaze. I knew he expected me to refuse Liam's proposal and send him out of the house, but how could I do that to my best friend? What kind of a friend would I become? I swallowed nervously as my heartbeat palpitated.

“Let's go," Liam said and dragged me along the staircase.

As we walked upwards, I kept stealing glances at Uncle Lance, and he buried his head onto the ground, a clear sign of his disappointment. I felt so bad for hurting his feelings.

In my head, I mumbled to myself. “I'm sorry, Uncle. But don't worry, nothing will change. I'll get you eventually."
