Chapter 2

The lounge for the event was a bit hard to find. I wandered around twice but never found it, though I did spot Jacob’s. From a distance, I glimpsed his lounge, which was the largest and finest one. It had been five years, and our dressing rooms were starkly different now. I sighed, "He has really made something of himself."

My agent was anxious. "Miss, let’s not provoke him. You know how devastated he was when you two broke up. Now he's a hot, top-tier movie star. We’re lucky he hasn’t sought revenge."

I pouted innocently, "Really?"

My agent, clearly frustrated, just gave me a deadpan look, while I burst out laughing.

"Alright, I’ve offended more than one person anyway. Although I'm not in the same position anymore, I still have my sharp tongue. If someone annoys me, I'll just fight back," I said.

My agent grew even more nervous.
