Katie POV
The room was dark and quiet, the only sound the soft whir of the air conditioning. The sheets were soft and warm, and the mattress was firm and comfortable. I snuggled under the covers, my body beginning was relaxing. And I closed my eyes, letting the day's events wash over me.
It’s my wedding tomorrow and I felt sense of dread wash over me as i thought about the wedding. I was supposed to be happy and excited, but all i could feel was anxiety and fear.
The thought of committing to someone for the rest of my life was overwhelming, and i wasn’t sure if I am ready for that kind of responsibility.
I lay in bed, my mind racing with thoughts and worries.
The ringing of my phone ringing brought me back to life
I reached over to my nightstand and picked up my phone I saw the name of my best friend on the screen, and i took a deep breath before answering.
"Hey," i said, my voice sounding small and unsure.
"Hey, what's up?" My friend's voice sounded cheerful and upbeat, a welcome contrast to my own.
"I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing," she said. "How are you feeling about tomorrow?"
"I'm... not sure how I'm feeling," I said, my voice faltering. "I know I should be happy and excited, but I just feel so nervous and overwhelmed."
"That's totally normal," my friend said, her voice reassuring. "It's a huge day, and it's okay to feel a little stressed out."
"But what if I don't love him?" I blurted out, the words tumbling out before I could stop them. "What if I'm making a mistake?"
"I'm... not sure how I'm feeling," I said, my voice faltering.
"I know I should be happy and excited, but I just feel so nervous and overwhelmed."
"That's totally normal," my friend said, her voice reassuring.
"It's a huge day, and it's okay to feel a little stressed out."
"But what if I don't love him?" I blurted out, the words tumbling out before you could stop them. "What if I'm making a mistake?"
“What are you saying, you guys have been dating for so long, why will you think you don’t love him”my friend said
"I know we've been together for a long time," I said, my voice trembling.
"But what if the spark is gone? What if I'm just going through the motions?" I could feel my heart racing, the doubts and fears swirling in my head. My friend was silent for a moment, her thoughts clearly racing.
"Maybe you just need to take a step back and think about what it is that you're really feeling," she said, her voice gentle.
"It's okay to have doubts and questions, that's normal. But I don't think you're just going through the motions."
“I’ll be traveling tomorrow,i don’t want you to inform Tyler about it.I know he’d be fine within a short period”I said
I could feel my friend's surprise through the phone.
"You're going to keep it a secret from him?" She asked, her voice full of concern.
"I just don't want him to worry," I said, my voice pleading.
"He's already got so much going on with work and the wedding preparation,I don't want to add more to his plate." My friend was silent for a moment, clearly thinking it over.
"I understand where you're coming from," she said. "But what if he finds out and he's hurt that you didn't tell him,so I’ll suggest you go see him and explain everything to him”She said
I thought about what my friend had said, and you knew she was right.
"You're right, I can't keep this from him," I said, my voice heavy with regret. "I'll go see him tonight and tell him everything." My friend's voice was warm and comforting.
"That's the right thing to do," she said, a sense of pride in her voice.
"He'll understand, and you'll feel better for being honest with him." I nodded, feeling a weight lift from my shoulders.
"Thanks, you're the best," i said, my voice full of gratitude.
"You're welcome," my friend said, a smile in their voice. "Anytime you need someone to talk to, I'm here." I felt a wave of affection for my friend, so grateful for her unwavering support.
I hung up and headed to my closet,I’ll be going to his office to tell him about it
As i stood in front of my closet, i wondered on what to wear. I wanted to look professional, but also approachable. I finally settled on a black skirt and blazer, with a simple white blouse.I wanted to make a good impression, but i didn't want to look like I was trying too hard. I gathered my things and headed out the door, feeling more confident with each step.
I opened my car door and pulled out of the driveway and onto the street, heading towards Tyler's company. I felt the anticipation building as i drove, my stomach in knots. I parked in the parking lot and took a few deep breaths, trying to calm my nerves as I got out of the car and made my way to the building, taking in the sights and sounds around me.

Alarm blaring!!!!
I opened my eyes and yawned,I’ll be starting my job at my dad’s company. I stretched and blinked a few times, I got out of bed and went to the bathroom, washing my face and getting ready for the day. I looked in the mirror, a sense of excitement building within me.
Today was the day I’m starting my new job, a new chapter in my life. I got dressed in my best clothes, wanting to make a good impression on your first day.
After spending the whole of yesterday with Williams,I came home to get the news that I’ll be working as the Manager of my dad’s oil company
My heart leapt in my chest as when I heard the news. A manager position was a huge promotion, and I was honored that my father trusted me with such a role. I felt a surge of pride and excitement, ready to tackle the challenges ahead.I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I was ready to give it my all. I looked at myself in the mirror, determination in my eyes.
"You've got this," I said to myself, nodding in the mirror.
I grabbed my bag and headed out the door, ready to start my new life.
“Hunny are you ready”my mom asked as she gestured me to the dining room
I nodded, unable to form words as the nerves built up inside of me. I sat down at the table, my parents already seated. I looked around the table, taking in the familiar faces.
"Well, let's start this off with a prayer," my father said, holding out his hands. I clasped my hands together, eyes closed. My father said a prayer, and i joined in silently. As the prayer ended, i felt a sense of peace wash over me
“Daniel told me you came home with a guy”Dad said and I raised up my head
“Yes dad,he’s my boyfriend...we’ve been dating for 3 years”I said
My father looked at me, his expression unreadable.
"Three years?" he said, his voice full of surprise. "I had no idea." He paused, gathering his thoughts.
"Are you happy?" he asked, his voice gentle. You nodded, feeling your heart swell.
"I've never been happier," I said, a smile on my face. My father nodded, a small smile on his own face.
"I'm glad to hear that, honey."
“I can’t believe my daughter has a boyfriend and I’m just getting to know”my mother pouts
My mother's pout was adorable, and i couldn't help but chuckle.
"It's not like I've been hiding him, mom," I said, trying to lighten the mood. "You've just been so busy, and we've been trying to respect your privacy."my mother huffed, but i could tell she was warming up to the idea.
