(Diksha's residence)
Writer's POV:-
"Then ma'am said, we have to go after our internal exams only, but no problem as the exams will be over soon." Diksha was telling her day's everything to her mother, who was oiling her hair. She was sitting on the floor with her back while her mother was sitting on the sofa while her fingers were massaging Diksha's scalp.
It was evening when she reached her house after college. She was the apple of her parent's eyes. Being a single child that too girl, made her parents extra loving, caring, protective, and possessive towards her. Though she is very much attached to both of them, yet she is habitual of telling everything to her mother, more. It's a habit and her daily routine to blabber everything that had happened that day, out to her mother, as soon as she gets back home.
Her mother, Annapurna Shrivastaw was a beautiful, humble, sweet, and strong lady. She knew her inside out. She was more like a best friend to her, whom she used to tell everything to. She was the head of the city in an NGO, which was started by her best friend and her as a joint venture.
Her father, Mayank Shrivastaw, was an adorable, polite, and sweet person though he was a strong man but became emotional when it came to his daughter. He never said 'NO' to her, for anything. He was a government official.
"Hmm... that's okay, but where will you all stay?" Her mother asked.
"They will do the arrangements for it and other important arrangements too will be done by the college itself. Ma'am said so." She replied.
"ooh..." Her mother started to say when they heard their doorbell rang.
"Go, open the door. It must be your Papa" She said to her. Diksha nodded and got up to open the door.
"Papa...." She chirped with a big smile, immediately after opening the door.
"Ohh, my sweet little child is very happy today!" Her father too reflected the same smile as he saw his daughter smiling.
"Yes, you know our college is sending us to do an internship, after internal exams." She replied happily.
"Ohh wow, my little birdie grew up so big, she will soon start working... right Purna?" He said emotionally to his wife looking at his daughter, who he didn't know when grew up so big. For him, she was his 10 minutes old little baby girl, whom he held for the first time in his hand.
"Hmm....she definitely has grown up but her childishness is not gone yet. Don't know how she will manage everything ahead." She said in a concerned tone as Diksha had never lived alone on her own for every single thing. This was the obvious concern of her as a mother.
"Ohh, Mother! Why are you worrying? I'm very intelligent, I'll manage everything....you see I'm so smart." Diksha replied dramatically, pulling her imaginary collars up, trying to ease the emotional surrounding.
"Yes, no one is more intelligent than you in this world. After all, nobody is that smart to add spices in boiling oil and then ask ' why there's no reaction?'." Her mother replied humorously.
"What Mumma, you don't insult my cooking skills like this... alright... I wasn't aware of the outcome, that's why I did so, moreover, this is such an old topic, why are you explaining things to papa now?" Diksha whined, stomping her foot on the floor.
Her parents laughed at her childishness.
"See.... that's why I said her childishness isn't gone yet.." Said Annapurna laughingly. Mayank too laughed looking at his cute daughter.
She puffed her face crossing her hands over her chest and pouted adorably seeing her parents laughing at her childish ways.
"Enough na Mumma papa....how long are you both gonna make fun of me?" she whined again.
Her parents stopped laughing and looked at her adorably.
"Who will say you're all grown up now. You're still a kid, my little birdie." Mayank said lovingly caressing her hair.
Diksha's POV:-
"Who will say you're all grown up now. You're still a kid, my little birdie." Papa said to me a bit emotionally as he caressed my hair lovingly.
"Aww....my cute papa, don't worry I'll always be your little birdie, even after becoming 85." I laughed too.
He grinned and Mumma too smiled, wiping the corner of her eyes.
"Alright let's have dinner, otherwise it will get cold. You go get fresh. I'm setting the table. You, yourself get and make me emotional too along with you." Said Mumma as she moved to set the table.
We had our dinner with so much fun and laughter.
After wishing good night to Mumma Papa I came to my room and was about to sleep when my phone beeped.
*1 message received*
Message from an unknown number, at this time? I frowned.
*As you've agreed to the terms, I hope you don't have any other problem regarding it.* - The message reads.
Who is this? And terms! What terms dude?
I was thinking and staring at my phone when another message arrived.
*And if you have, You can tell me without hesitation. I'll consider it for sure.* - The message reads.
"What terms? What are you talking about? Do I know this ?" I replied
The reply came after a few seconds.
*Obviously yes, we just discussed this in the morning, how did you forget this soon?*
When the hell did I discuss with someone about any terms that too this morning?
Ah! I think someone might have sent it to me by mistake.
But wait what if it's another prank of Sejal. She did this earlier too, and the way it's talking about some discussion and terms it must be her. She has these kinds of fantasies of doing secretive message-call pranks. It must be her like the last time.
Ohh Sejal, now you see who is Diksha Shrivastaw. You're very much interested in doing pranks right! Now you'll see how your own plan backfires. You need to learn a lesson - to never mess with me. Evil smirk.
*Ping: 1 new message received*
*Hello! you there ?* - The message reads.
Of course, I'm right here. Oh God, it's so funny!
"Yeah, I'm here, actually I was in the washroom when you texted," I replied lying on the bed.
*Ohh...*
"Yeah, so what were you saying?" I replied,
*I was saying, I hope you don't have any problem regarding this besides I will ask my assistant to send you the papers by tomorrow evening. Is that okay with you ?* - The message reads.
Ohh! Assistant and all… big talks so that I don't doubt, but I'm also YOUR friend, I will not fall in your trap this time.
I decided to reply to something unexpected. With an evil grin, I typed.
"Hey, can we talk over the phone?"
