chapter 3

His voice and facial expression quickly changed from merry to what I can portray as outrage, when he articulated the last sentence. also, I could quickly detect a pivot of what started off seeming like a delightful story.

"if you were in love with her since secondary school, what kept you from telling her how you felt? For what reason did you not date her then, at that point?" I inquired, presently sitting down in my chair. removing my square eye reader glasses, and putting them on top of my pen and notebook on the floor.

he chomped his lower lip briefly, before slowly strolling back to the seat and sat down facing me.

"I wanted to... Yet, somehow I was afraid." He expressed, looking down.

"afraid of what? Rejection?" I asked, looking at him and he raised his head replying

"afraid of destroying our friendship... she...she wasn't ready for relationships in those days and I respected that."

Hearing that, I grinned acknowledging how much of a greater person he was for regarding his then friend's decisions, regardless of whether it implied ignoring his deepest longing. He should have truly adored her. I thought prior to hearing him profess "Yet, presently I regret..."

Furthermore, he nibbled his lower lip once more, tucking his hands back to his jersey pockets.

"Why is that?" I inquired with a straight face, he quit biting his lip as he responded "Because. If I did maybe things would have… Turned out differently."

I looked at his eyes as he said that, they were gradually becoming red once more. It was like that radiance I saw a couple of moments back was gradually blurring.

"What makes you say that, what happened when you got to college that would have been prevented had you confessed your love for her in secondary school?" I asked, battling to assemble the pieces. Hensley pivoted looking at me with a straight face, joined by his red eyes.

"A lot. a lot occurred." he expressed.

"Disclose to me everything." I said while I watched him looking at me with stoic expression.

“it all began with a party. A fresher’s party. Elora saw the post and came barging in my entryway promptly in the first part of the day, that day.

"Little hen! Wake Up your sleepy head!" I heard her yell as she hurled herself on top of me. It was 7am and I was all the while Still resting.

"Jesus Christ you are frightening me ora. Don't you know how to knock!" I expressed as I flipped my black covers and brushed my sleepy eyes as I watched her laugh.

"I will start knocking the day you will also start locking the door when you sleep, little hen." She expressed between her snicker, and I looked at her with a faked stoic expression.

"What is it that you called me? What is it that you called me?" I jokingly asked as I lifted her up from the bed and energetically attempting to toss her on the floor.

"No. No. Put me down, put me down!" yelled Elora while screaming and I started to snicker at her.

"Say you are sorry!" I instructed, as yet snickering.

"Yet, I'm not!" She expressed as she marginally chuckled

"I'm going to drop you!" I said as I lifted her higher.

"alright I'm sorry. Now put me down big hen!" She yelled again. I chuckled putting her down.

"Good. Big hen. I'm too old now." I joked as I walked back to my bed and hurled myself there. also, she followed, hurling herself on top of me and looked at me without flinching.

"Hey" I grumbled. Elora snickered.

"I bring cheerful news." She announced as she held my hands and played with them, while as yet burdening me.

"Spill." I said, looking at her and she grinned prior to saying "Well apparently there's a fresher’s party this evening. and I was thinking we should go."

"No, count me out. " I quickly replied as I moved her on top of me and got the jacket close to her. I was wearing a vest and a short since I was all the while dozing when she barged in.

"little... I mean big hen; you can't do this to me. Who am I going to go with if you don't go?"

She looked at me with feel sorry for eyes and I snickered.

"I know that look. It will not work." I said as I attempted to put on my red jacket, however before I could she hauled it and ran off the bed.

"Ora!" I yelled out as I stood up from the bed, watching her run off.

"Give it back!" I yelled again, and she looked me standing close to the door.

"Not until you promise to go with me." She said, trying to trick me into going to the fresher’s ball with her. I peered down shaking my head as I laughed.

"Ora you know I love you so much and I would go with you anywhere yet not this evening. My leg still hurts." I expressed. Just to see her make a puppy face again as she said

"alright fine... I will go alone, see you later then. Love you." She said as she strolled towards me and embraced me and afterward strolled off... and I let her... I let her go to the party alone, just for her to go and meet him.”

His eyes radiated again when he spoke of the young lady he was undoubtedly still in love with, and he started to grin again before his eyes widened and became more red upon the mention of ' him '

"Him? Who is him?" I asked as I stood up and strolled towards the white coloured corner, turning around and looked towards his direction.

"another villain in a suit." He responded, watching me as I stood in the corner.

"Does this villain in a suit have a name?" I asked again, now folding my hands, and he looked at me again with an annoyed face.

"Bloody fucken Derek. That is his fucken name!" He snorted as he stood up. I looked at him without a word. Just to see him fuming.

"I disdain him! I disdain that fucken pig!" He snorted again, prior to screaming while he started to pace around, frightening me from the corner. I could again see the furious broken young man I saw earlier when I walked in as he paced around.

"Did he…steal your chance? Is it that why you disdain him?" I asked with a delicate voice as I watched from the corner. Hensley pivoted and quit pacing, he looked at me.

"He fucken took everything! From her! From me! Everything!" He yelled out as he attempted strolling towards me gazing at me with demise eyes. However, pivoted reaching the corner.

"Son of a witch! I swear I wanted to kill him! I wanted to kill him!" He yelled out again as he hit the white painted wall, prior to pivoting and confronted me once more.

"I mean I wouldn't have disapproved if...if he took my chance and cherished her sincere as I did. I would have been glad for her that she found love however no…no that child of a witch..."

as he proceeded, his voice began to break. His lips shuddered, and he chomped it. attempting to battle the tears that appeared to be gradually building in his red eyes.

"For what reason didn't you disclose to her how you felt, the moment you realized you were going to lose her?" I inquired as I watched him stop battling the torment that I heard in his voice... left without any words to say.

"I couldn't… she…she was just so excited. I couldn't " He sat on the brown tiled floor as he presently turned and looked at me straight, with no more strength to battle the tears. He let them stream.

“I couldn't… I couldn't do it and that was indeed my slip-up, I ought to have. I ought to have disclosed to her I adored her then, at that point and possibly... Possibly… I wouldn't have lost her.

I…I recall that day, when she came barging in my room again shouting and laughing as she hurled herself in my bed singing "It's a wonderful day! It's a wonderful day!"

I looked at her astounded by her energy.

"Guess what! Guess what!" She excitedly yelled once more.

"You won lottery." Not getting what was happening, I kidded as I looked at her lovely little face as it lit up.

"No silly. I Elora Morgana have a date! I have a date!" She excitedly yelled out again and I looked at her more shocked and puzzled.

realizing that I wasn't uttering a word, she quit shouting and looked at me.

"Did you not hear what I said?" She asked.

I hopped in saying "I did. I did, I'm simply astonished."

What's more, I recall her adage with a voice low and delicate like summer rain

"I thought you would be happy for me." She expressed.

she looked baffled and I didn't want that, I didn’t like to `steal her happiness so I... I lied

"What? Obviously I am excited for you. I'm really excited. I was simply not expecting it. But I'm so happy for you."

Hearing that, her eyes immediately shimmered by and by and she started to grin. Driving me to counterfeit a grin back.

"then you going to help me get ready!" She Shouted again as she bounced on top of me.

"OK, I will help you now get off me." I said as I playfully pushed her off me and she giggled again as she moved.

"2pm… I am going to class now, bye love you!" she kissed my cheek and ran off.

I watched her as she grinned leaving the room. realizing that I was really losing her. I had delayed until she was prepared to date and now that she was, I was losing her to some person I didn't even know.

I sat on the cold floor and put my hands in my head. Brushing it.

No doesn’t look at me like that she… she was so excited I couldn't ruin it for her…

I was her best friend, I had to help her thus I did...

I gathered the strength to proceed to prepare for class despite the fact that I didn't want to attend. after class, I went to get her in the library, and we went to the shopping centre.

"Are you truly going to all fit this load of dresses?" I asked her as I watched her change for the fifth time asking me which one was awesome.

"Indeed, if needs be!" She responded yelling as she returned in the fitting room, prepared to fit another.

" Jesus, Women." I murmured to myself prior to pivoting and met her standing in front of me with the most excellent blue sheath one shoulder dress, I had at any point seen. It was so lovely and she glanced so beautiful in it.

"Big Hen!" I heard her call out as I stared at her astounded.

"You look... wonderful, that is the one." I stammered, feeling my eyes flicker and she started to giggle, seeing my reaction.

"In light of the expression all over your face. I don't doubt." She said, prior to returning and change, lastly agreed to proceed to pay.

It was at long last seven o'clock and she was all set. I remember... I watched her standing by the mirror in a red dress, awaiting another man.

"Are you ready?" I asked, folding my hands as I stood close to her thinking of how it's not me.

"How do I look?" She asked, looking at me. I looked back at her and my heart broke for each second she was going to spend with him.

"Absolutely wonderful." I expressed as I faked a grin. she grinned back, Prior to hearing a vehicle hoot outside.

"It should be him… wish me luck." I watched her face lit as she expressed and I faked a grin again.

"You don't need it." I said. She grinned again, kissing my cheek and left saying

"See you later, hen." She called me hen this time. not little hen nor large hen, and she didn't run out of my room, she strolled delicate like a woman. my young lady was without a doubt maturity. Yet sadly all that was not inspired by me but another man.

I sat on the floor in my small sized college room as I thought that, opening the wine I had put there and suffocated my jealousy. My wrecked heart.

"As long as she's happy." I said to myself.'

He clarified while Still sitting on the cold tiled floor, his knees lifted. he put his hands on top of them and buried his head in the middle. appearing as though he was carrying the heaviness of the world in his shoulder.
