Audrey Howey
Troy won the match, what a relief. I totally had to control myself back then. I badly wanted to shout, cry and just stop Troy in the middle of the fight. I really need to control myself more.
Some wolves even kept staring at me, like I was an item at a museum. I really wanted to ask them if there was something on my face. Relax! I had to tell myself. Everything will be okay, focus.
Then Troy walked in front of me in his wolf form. I don't know what to act. Should I be happy or calm? I don't know. I haven't seen this side of him before. This is definitely far from what I know he can do. I lean closer to him. However, I can't stay mad at him. He did for my own sake, I'm sure if he told me these things back then I wouldn't understand.
I touched his black fur with awe. Soft. He licked my face and I chuckled. Is that a kiss for me? He shifted back. Oh.My.Gosh! He's naked in front of me?! I covered my eyes. And peek a little. Why did I peek? I saw Matthew rush toward Troy and hand some spare clothes. When he's done I tried to hide my burning red face. I stood in front of him and he snatched my hand and kissed it.
He held my hand and pulled me closer .We're at the center of the crowd at the moment. I felt nervous. I don't know what to do, I wish the floor would just eat me alive.
"Everyone, my orders are absolute! I don't want this to happen ever again but if you insist I can fight." They nod. "I would like you all to meet my mate, the soon to be Luna. She's mine." He growled possessively. He pointed to the man he just fought. "Respect .Protect. Follow. Do this all if you don't want to end your life here like him!" He looked at me and I stepped forward a bit.
"The name is Audrey Howey, I hope we all get along." I said that but this is really awkward. Who am I to stand as a Luna?
"Can we please ask you some questions, Luna?" he asked.
"Sure, name?" I replied. I can't see a problem with that though. This makes the awkwardness fade. At least I can establish a good impression.
"Marco, how old are you?" he asks with a smirk on his face.
“I'm eighteen." They laughed. Is there a problem with my age? I glanced at Troy and he blushed. What's happening, I'm totally lost.
“Forgive us. We have been discussing Alpha's type before you are introduced.” He said. Now I am curious about it
Then a man from the back raised his hand and stood. "I'm Colt, what pack are you from?" I stilled. Then I look at Troy. He's quite shocked. He might be wondering what will be my answer. I don't know what to do. What will they do if they found out I'm human?
"I'm afraid I cannot answer that question. I have my reasons." Phew! I manage to escape from that!
"That's enough. Marco cleaned this up now." he said pointing at the dead body. "The rest of you fix the mess. When I get back, this place should be spotless! Hurry now!"
Then they all went inside. Except Marco he carried the dead body. I want to ask where and what they'll do with it. I'm scared to ask, based on what I have seen this is a normal event to them. It made me sad, all these years this is what keeps Troy busy? Killing and protecting territory? The childhood friend of mine lived for the sake of his pack because he's the Alpha. I have no right to complain. This must be really hard for him.
He pulled me out of my thoughts. "Let's go back to the mansion." I nodded and got inside the car. What happened when I was away...
Everything that happened seemed too unreal. The wolves transformed right in front of me. Then Troy officially announced that I'm his mate. He said I'm soon to be Luna or something. Yet I still know nothing about wolves and about Troy.
As of now, we're inside the car. It was so quiet, none of us spoke. I was just staring at the window all the time, me and my brain agreed to just sit there and do nothing. So much happened and I'm exhausted. I'm way too tired to deal with anything else.
Soon as the ride was over, I got out of the car and made my way upstairs to my room. Without a word, I left Troy outside. I immediately closed the door and sighed. What I really need right now is a bath, so I went to the bathroom and washed myself.
I wrapped a towel around me after I finished bathing, then I quickly went to the wardrobe to find something to wear. I grabbed my black oversized sweater and a pair of white shorts. I exhaustedly sat down at the end of my bed, thinking of what to do next. What immediately came to mind was that I want to know more about werewolves.
"Hmm.. I'll just Google about them!" I muttered. I excitedly grabbed my phone from the nightstand and opened it. But it immediately said, 'Low battery 1 percent is remaining’, then shut down. Great! Now it's useless.
Then I remembered my Grandma Candice. I realized I haven't seen her for a bit. Oh! Maybe I'll just ask her. Maybe it's a good idea. I went out of my room and started to find Grandma.
I sighed. I've been searching everywhere but Grandma was nowhere to be found. I searched her room, the kitchen, even the living room. No one was there; I remembered Aunt Beth and Madam Rosette saying they'll go out for some shopping.
I then remembered the garden. That's the only place I haven't been to. So I went out to search for her, and I wasn't mistaken. She was there, staring at the beautifully bloomed flowers with a serene smile on her face. I went closer to her, and she noticed me right away.
"Hello, my dear. Do you need something? “She asked with a smile.
I sat beside her and rested my head on her shoulder and held her hand. "Uhm.. Grandma, can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Sure. What is it, Audrey?" she asked curiously.
"I want to know more about this werewolf thing, I mean there are so many things about them that I don't know about especially about Troy." I said. Before, I was not more curious than any of this but now it’s changed. I want to know him more.
I notice her smile widened. She chuckled with a teasing grin. "I see you're starting to like him, dear."
I looked down. I don't really know what to answer. I like his smile, his tanned skin, his hair, every feature he has. It's embarrassing to admit, but I guess it’s true. I'm starting to like him. I adore the way he speaks in front of his people, especially to me. I also like how he became childish when it’s just the two of us. The way he cares for me and throwing those funny lines when he’s talking to me, I like it all.
I nodded. “Maybe." I looked away to hide my embarrassed face, but I think she could tell that I'm still listening.
"Well, wolves are very possessive when it comes to their property also to their mates. “Especially, when they haven't been marked their partner yet." She paused and looked at me.
"Marked?" I asked curiously. I've never heard of that
