Mahmud Mansion

Areesha was busy with the kitchen stuff and Esha was playing in the living room. She was coming to Areesha after every few minutes and kept asking her the same questions.

“Mummy, when will Abbu be back? And when will we be going out?

Being tired of answering her, Areesha called Muhib.

Muhib attended the call and before he could say something, Areesha asked her, “When are you coming back? Your daughter is asking me about it every few minutes for a while."

Not getting her, Muhib got worried and questioned her back, “Why? What happened? Is Esha alright?”

“Yeah, everything is alright. You forgot! We are supposed to take her out today. That's why she is asking"

Hearing Areesha, he got relaxed and spoke up, “Oh. Yeah. It got out of my mind. I was busy with meetings. But I am almost done for today. It's now 1 PM, right? I will be home by 2 PM.”

“Okay. Be careful on your way home. Allah Hafiz.” saying this, Areesha cut off the line and found Esha looking at her hopefully.

“Your Abbu is coming back soon.”

Hearing Areesha, Esha gave her a toothy smile and got back to living room while jumping.

Khushi's P.O.V.

Entering house, I went to my room directly and took a warm shower.

Then after ablution, I said my prayer and got downstairs.

I entered the kitchen to make some snacks but seeing me there, kaki asked me to take my meal first.

I took my meal and started preparing  some snacks when kaki asked me, “Are you going to the park today?”

I happily nodded and kaki kept helping me with preparing snacks.

When I was done, it was almost 4:30. I told kaki to pack the snacks and went to my room. After ablution, I said my Asar prayer and getting ready, I got downstairs.

Taking the packet of snacks, I got out of my house and forwarded towards the park happily.

Areesha's P.O.V.

When I was done with cooking, I made Esha bathe. Then I tried to make her take her lunch but all she kept insisting on eating with Muhib.

It was almost 2 but Muhib wasn’t home yet. After uncle, he has been handling two companies which made him very busy lately.

When Muhib got home, it was almost 2:30. Esha went running to him and he took her in his arms leaving the bag to me.

Muhib earlier looked all exhausted but having Esha in his arms, he smiled warmly as if he was totally energetic then.

He asked Esha, “Have you had your lunch, princess?”

Esha kept shaking her head as she said, “I will have with you.”

Hearing her, Muhib looked at me as I spoke up, “I tried but she insisted on taking lunch with you.”

Muhib looked back at Esha and said, “Just give me 10 mins, Princess. I will take a quick shower and come back to take lunch with you.”

When Esha replied with a smile, “Okay Abbu.”, Muhib put her down and taking bag from me, he hurried to upstairs.

Esha and me sat on the dinning table and kept waiting for him. Muhib really loves us very much. I could feel that. When Iftekhar uncle asked me to marry Muhib, I wasn’t sure what to do.

Our marriage was fixed by our parents long back. But uncle left the it on me to take final decision and now I feel the decision of marrying him was my best decision.

Muhib got back to dinning table and started feeding Esha. After taking few spoonfuls from him, Esha took the spoon from his hand and said, “You eat Abbu. I will eat by myself now. Or we will be getting late.”

Muhib started eating and asked her, “Late for what, Princess?”

Hearing him, Esha pouted innocently.

And I spoke up then, “After lunch, you will sleep for 1 hour and then we will go out.”

Esha looked at Muhib hopefully but only to get the same answer, “Right.”

Esha looked disappointed. To convince her, Muhib spoke up again while trying to make a tired expression, “Princess, you know I had to attend in three meetings today. And now I am very tired.”

Hearing that, Esha said, “Abbu, you should rest now then. We will go sometime later.”

Muhib smiled looking at her concerned daughter. After lunch, we rest for sometime but without sleeping, Esha kept looking at the clock.

I called Arhaan to check if had taken his breakfast and told him that we were going outside.

Hearing that, he said happily, “Great.  Now take rest api for a while. I got to go to campus. Take care. Allah Hafiz.”

I cut off the line saying, “You too take care. Allah Hafiz.” and looked at Esha who was still looking at the clock.

Seeing that, Muhib looked at me hopefully and I agreed with a sigh and looking at Esha, I spoke up, “Let's get ready now.”

As soon as I said that, Esha jumped out of the bed as she happily uttered, “Okay.”

We both also got down from bed. I got her ready and after saying my prayer, I also got ready and went out. Hopping in our, we forwarded towards there and Esha started her blabbering looking outside of the car.

Khushi's P.O.V.

Reaching at the park, I went to our given place and found the little kids playing and running to and fro. To announce my presence, I greeted them loudly, “Assalamu_Alaikum.”

Hearing my voice, they turned around only to find me standing there and ran to me and I asked them.

“How are you all, lovelies?”

“We are fine, aunty. How are you?” They replied in unision.

“Alhamdulillah, I am fine too. Look, I have brought some snacks for you all.”

Hearing me, they looked at the packet in my hand.

We all enjoyed the snacks together then I made them sit to study.

After sometime, I heard someone asking, “What are you doing?” and got startled.

I looked around only to find a cute little girl sitting beside me and looking at us curiously.

Another little girl sitting here, answered her, “We are reading. Khushi aunty is teaching us. You know she is very nice.” I smiled a little hearing her.

The girl looked at me and said, “I also want to read with you.”

The new girl was sounding very excited but when I said, “Okay, bring your books here then.” her face turned pale.

“I didn't bring my books here. They are in my home. Can you come there to teach me sometime?” The girl was saying normally but at last part she gave me a pleading and hopeful look.

When I replied, “No, dear. I can't go there.”, she left from there after staring at me with a sad face for some moments.

I sadly smiled at her then I turned forward and got myself busy with the kids. When I was done almost after 30 mintutes, I got up and said, “Now go to your place. We will meet again after one day. Complete your homework by then, okay?”

“Okay aunty.” They replied in unision and I smiled at them and said, “Allah Hafiz.”

They all left from there and I kept standing for a while. I really enjoyed being with this kids. They live in the orphanage right beside the park. 6 months earlier I met them first in this park and I liked them instantly and started teaching them.

I was lost in my thought when I heard  someone uttering, “Excuse me.”

I looked forward and found a man maybe in mid thirties standing there.

I uttered politely, “Yes?" and he pointed towards someone.

I followed his direction only to find the girl who came earlier to me. She was talking to a woman maybe her mother while crying loudly.

I looked back at him as he said, “I am her father.”

Areesha's P.O.V.

In car I suggested to go somewhere else but Esha kept insisting on going to the park.

Arriving there, I selected a place where it seemed quite clean. Esha was just happy being in the park and jumping all around us.

Muhib was looking still tired. When I asked him about it, he spoke up, “Handling two companies are not easy. But don't worry. Arhaan will be back in a few days. Then it will be okay.”

Saying this he looked at me hopefully and I just nodded at that.

I looked back at Esha only to find her staring at something.

I followed her gaze and saw a young girl who was surrounded by many little kids.

I turned to Esha and asked her, “What are looking at, sweetie?”

Pointing at the same direction, she asked me, “What are they doing Ammi?”

As soon as I replied, “I don't know sweetie.”, she ran towards them saying, “Okay. You keep sitting here. I am going there to know. Then I will tell you.”

I looked at Muhib and told him to stop her but he spoke up likewise, “Let her be as anyway she is not alone here. We are here with her.”

Pointing at that direction, he continued, “That young girl perhaps is teaching the kids. Look at them."

When I looked at them, the situation seemed as Muhib said but I still got up to go there for myself.

Muhib also followed me. I stopped midway when I saw Esha talking to that young girl happily. But after a few moments, Esha came running to us with teary eyes.

Seeing that Muhib hurriedly got near her and took her in arms and asked, “What happened, princess? What did that girl say to you?”

“That aunty is teaching all the kids but when I told her to teach me too, she said no.” saying this Esha started sobbing slightly.

Muhib tried to calm her and said, “That aunty is bad. I will bring good one to teach you at home. Don't worry. Okay, princess?” only to get her worked up more.

I also tried to divert her mind. We got back to our place and even tried to calm her by giving chocolates which was her all time favourite.

But nothing was working and she started crying loudly. Being unble to see her like this, Muhib and me looked at each other helplessly.

I looked back at the girl who was now standing alone. Maybe she was about to leave.

I started thinking what to do but Muhib stood up immediately and saying, “I will talk to her” started walking towards her.

Muhib's P.O.V.

“I can't bear to see my baby girl like this.” While thinking like this, I went to talk to the girl.

She was standing alone and getting near her, I spoke up, “Excuse me."

May be she got startled at my sudden call but she answered politely, “Yes?"

I pointed towards Esha who was still crying and said, “I am her father.”

She looked at Esha and then turned to me but kept all silent. So I spoke up again, “I saw you teaching other kids. Can you teach my daughter too? I will pay you handsomely. Don't worry about that.”

When she uttered coldly, “I don't do it for money."

“Look, I am sorry. I didn't want to offend you. I just want you to teach my daughter.”  I kept pleading to her.

I didn't know why but she seemed trying to sound normal as she said, “I don't have any problem with teaching your daughter. Send her here every Monday and Friday.”

But when I said, “Would you mind to teach her in our house?”

She just answered me straight, “No. I can't do that.”

I looked back at Esha who was looking at me hopefully but her eyes were still teary.

“Please don't say no. Actually my daughter, Esha is allergic to dust. That's why we normally cannot take her out often. Seeing you teaching the kids, she is insisting on getting you as her teacher. She is continuously crying after getting the answer no from you. Please help me out. I can't bear to see my daughter like that.”

I was pleading and sounding helpless in front of a stranger but that was not important to me. All that mattered to me now was making my Princess smile again and I could do anything for bringing back that smile of her.

Little did I know, I was giving my best effort only to bring back the smile on my daughter's face in front of a girl who was left behind all alone by her father when she was crying......
