Ch_14

Khushi's P.O.V.

.

I took Esha in my arms and got inside Mahmud Mansion. Seeing me, Areesha Api spoke up, "Finally you came! Esha was waiting for you since long back."

Hearing her, I just smiled a little and caressed Esha's hair and Api continued, "You two go to poolside. I will be there after a while."

I took Esha to poolside and sat on our as usual table which was already set for us. I was about to take a book, when Esha spoke up, "Aunty, I have something for you."

I smilingly asked her, "What?"

She just uttered, "Wait a moment. I am bling(bringing) it." and ran inside.

In these few days Esha and me really got closer. Though I got sad and watery eyes, whenever I saw the extra care of her parents towards her but I liked time spending with her and in this house.

These people are totally opposite of the people of my house. Though I am a stranger for them, they started caring of me like near ones or I should say family.

My chain of thought got interrupted when Esha came running and forwarded a chocolate packet to me and spoke up, "Aunty, it's for you."

I smiled at her and spoke up, "You eat it, sweetie. Don't you like chocolates very much?"

She shook her head and spoke up, "Mama bought me many chocolates aunty. It's for you."

I took the packet with a smile and spoke up, "Thank you, sweetie."

She also smiled at me and sat on the chair.

While opening a book, I asked her remembering her earlier words, "Your Mama came back home?"

She nodded happily and spoke up spreading her hands as much as possible, "He brought for me so much chocolates."

I smiled at her but spoke up, "You shouldn't eat so much chocolates sweetie. It's bad for your teeth."

Hearing me, she pouted sadly and then spoke up, "Don't you also love chocolates?"

"Yes but.." Hearing me she started laughing.

"It won't be a problem if you don't take much at a time. Just don't take much a day, okay?"

She nodded at me innocently and I started teaching her then.

She started uttering words cutely and I was correcting her pronunciation smilingly.

I was thinking as her Mama was back, I should apologise to him for my previous behaviour on phone call. But what should I tell him for the reason behind my such words.

I just can't tell him about my brother. I can't do this. Then what should I tell him..

I got interrupted when Esha asked me pointing at a word, "Aunty, what is it?"

I uttered normally, "Siblings" only to face her question again,"What does it mean?"

I answered her smilingly, "It means brother and sister. Like your Mummy and Mama. They are siblings."

Hearing me, she spoke up, "You know Mama loves Mummy and me a lot. He says this before cutting the call like 'Love you Api' and 'love you Princess'."

I smiled at her and remembering Arnav's word, I spoke up, "The relationship between a brother and a sister is very sweet. A sister means a lot to her brother, sweetie. A lot."

But my eyes got watery as I said that and Esha got down from her chair and came near me and wiping my eyes, she asked, "Why are you crying Aunty?"

Finding nothing else to say, I spoke up in lower tone, "I am okay sweety. May be something fell on my eyes."

"Wait, I am calling Mummy." saying this, she ran from there.

"Esha, it's nothing dear." saying this, I rushed following her only to get bumped with someone.

The person asked with a concerned tone, "You okay?" but as soon as I looked at him, the expression on his face changed to anger at once and he uttered deadly, "Why are you here?"

I remembered him then. I met him out of the airport the previous day but couldn't get it who was he and why he got angry seeing me here.

I couldn't find anything to say at his cold behaviour and kept all silent.

He asked again then, "Didn't you hear me! I asked something to you. Answer me damn it. Why are you here?"

Being confused, I asked him, "Who are you?"

Right then Areesha Api entered the room and spoke up, "He is my brother, Arhaan. And Arhaan, she is Khushi."

Arhaan turned to me after glancing at Api once and his look became colder as he spoke up, "Oh, So it's you. I got it now but what's with the crap all those just now?"

Being confused, I kept looking at him and there was something on his face that was telling me to stay away from him.

Before I could say anything, Areesha Api spoke up, "What are you talking about Arhaan?"

Without answering Api, he uttered, "Ask her" as he kept glaring at me.

Finding nothing to say, I just uttered, "I am sorry."

He sarcastically smiled at me as he spoke up, "What a joke!"

I got totally silent at that again and Api took me out from there as she spoke up looking at him, "Arhaan, Vai please. Not again."

She made sit in the living room and said getting close to me, "Let me take a look. Esha told me that something got into your eye."

"Now I am okay Api. I think I should leave for today." saying this, I was about to stand up but Api held my hand and spoke up, "Khushi, don't mind Arhaan. He is just.."

Interrupting her, I said, "It's okay Api. I didn't mind that." and tried to get up only to sit again as Api spoke up, "Be seated.", I am coming.

I kept sitting silently but when I caught the sight of him glaring at me, I flinched in fear. I couldn't get myself sitting after that and got up while looking for api.

When I couldn't see her, I walked towards the door but got stopped when Esha uttered, "Aunty?".

I turned back and she came running to me and forwarded the chocolate packet to me as she spoke up, "You left your chocolate."

I was hesitating whether to take it when Areesha Api got near me with a tray in her hand and spoke up, "Khushi? I told you to sit and here you are leaving already."

I was about to say something but the still glaring look of Arhaan being more than enough stopped me from uttering a single word.

Esha uttered again, "Aunty take it." but I didn't get myself to move my hand as I was busy with getting myself together.

Then I heard Api saying, "Khushi, take it." and turned to her only to find her staring at Arhaan.

Api turned to me then and said with a little bit of smile, "Take it, dear."

Nodding at her, I took the packet as I caressed Esha's hair and then I took my leave from them instantly.

Leaving the Mansion behind, I forwarded towards my place while considering whether to visit Esha next time being afraid to face the glaring look of Arhaan again.
