Chapter 5: Confession

It was eight o'clock in the morning when Bela woke up. Even though she feels lazy, she had to get up and go to work. But while thinking about what happened yesterday, she was losing her desire to show up to her boss.

They won the game yesterday and the car will go to her. In that part, it's okay, but the one week vacation in greenland is what she's worried about. They have to use it because otherwise they will pay double. And greenland resort is one of the strict resort when it comes to their protocols and it must follow.

She suddenly remembered Daryl kissing her. Her boss kissed her for the second time and she didn't know if she would go crazy thinking about it.

"Ahhhh!" she screamed. "It's all Ranz's fault!" she complaint. "It was already okay from the start, I won't be recognized, but why did he leave me with Daryl!" she added. "And that damn game!" She seems like she's crazy talking to herself.

After getting dressed, she decided to go to the company.

As soon as she entered the company, she was greeted by the employees she met. She was not used to such treatment especially since she was just a beginner there. Maybe it’s one of the advantages when you’re involved in Jacob's life.

"Is she the girlfriend of Sir Ranz?" the girl said.

"Infairness, she's beautiful," the other girl said.

She just avoided looking at those she met. She wanted to get involved in their gossip but she might be late for work. She just continued walking as soon as she noticed that Ranz passed by her side. She called him but Ranz didn't look at her. She also noticed that Ranz was wearing a shades now which he doesn't do very often. But she felt annoyed. She deserves an explanation from him. But it seems that Ranz was avoiding her.

She also didn’t catch him in the lift. The other lift was opened so she just get in there. The door was closing when someone came after.

She immediately stepped aside and greeted the man beside her.

"Good morning Sir Jacob." She stared at her boss lips. She remembered that those lips were on her lips last night. But she's wondering why her boss doesn't care about that feeling.

"Why did you do that?" She was stunned. She had done a lot yesterday and she didn't know what her boss was referring to, so his mouth remained shut. "Why did you hide your identity?" her boss repeat. At that point she was confronted by her boss. "What did he mean? Does he already know that I'm Ysabel or what?" she whispered in her mind.

"What do you mean Sir?"

"You're Bela right?" her boss looks towards her with an intriguing eyes. She just grab her chest because it started to pound heavily. She was nervous because she thinks that her boss may already know her true identity. "Who's Caleen? Is that you also?" her boss added. That's when the time she breaths fine. All along she knew she'd being caught up again.

"I'm sorry, Sir. I know that I lie to you, but I didn't mean to do that." She bowed her head. Of course to put an act for her boss's forgiveness. "I disguised as Caleen as Ranz's girlfriend, but he's not my boyfriend," she explained. "And if I said that night that I'm Bela Isidro, I know that other people would think that I'm just using him, especially about what you are going to think of me Sir,"  she added.

"You're not his girlfriend? Then what are you?"

"We're just friends."

"Oh, okay."

The lift was about to open when she noticed a button on her boss's longsleeve was unbutton. She came over her boss and buttoned it up. The lift opened when the two were in that position. Bela was still holding the button and that was being witnessed by employees waiting outside the lift. She turned around when she saw the employees. Her boss did a right job by clicking the button again for the lift to close again. At that moment, they reached the rooftop of that building. She was still shocked by what her boss did.

"Sir, why did we come here?"

"To unwind," her boss replied. "I know that there's a lot of people talking about us, so let them be."

"It's my fault Sir, I'm sorry that I drag you here in this situation." She sighed.

"Don't be sorry, it's also my fault. If I had known you right away, I wouldn't have taken off the mask you're wearing."

"But I lie to you," Bela said feeling guilt for what she'd done.

"That's okay." Her boss faced her.

"But a lot of people here will talk about us everyday."

"Don't worry, I'll make way." She just smiled as she stared to her boss. But she was surprised when her boss suddenly kissed her.

"Sir, what are you doing?" She cannot move on her stand. She's thinking what might be running through her boss’s mind?

"I like you," her boss said softly. She couldn't find words to responsed. She didn’t expect to hear that from her boss. It's not obvious to him, her boss is a cold-hearted guy. So hearing those words from her boss was kind of refreshing.

"What do you mean Sir?" Even if she tries to understand, she's still confused.

"I said I like you. I don't know but I like you," her boss repeated. At that point, she broke away from her boss's embrace. "You don't like me?" her boss said giving a look of disappointment.

"I think it's not the right place to talk about it Sir. Let's just head to your office now, I know that you have a lot of works to do." Her boss just stared at her. And suddenly, he walks away.

Daryl feels embarrassed for the second time being rejected again by his secretary. That thought made him think that Ranz already hold the heart of the woman she loved. And thinking that, he feels so disgusted.

Until he sat down, he was still speechless. His secretary doesn't pay attention to him. But after a while, he noticed that his secretary is walking towards him.

"Sir, you have a meeting with Mrs. Barrias at 10:00 am and also with Ms. Aiden at 6:00 pm." Bela seems wondering by what she said. "I think something's not right Sir, I'll double-check it." She then double checked the folder she was holding and realized that what she said was correct. "Oh, it's really 6:00 pm," she repeated.

"Yeah that's really in the evening," her boss cleared it. "Miss Aiden and I will have a meeting in my house and you need to accompany me, so you need to sleep over in my house."

"Sleep over Sir?" Her eyes widened at what she heard. Is that necessary for her to go there at that time?

"I'll pay you for your overtime," her boss said firmly.

"Is that necessary Sir?" she asked.

"Of course," her boss replied. "Why do you have a family dinner again?"

"I will accompany you Sir," she immediately replied. She felt guilty about using her family as an alibi for her to reject him last time. And she will never do that again because it cause her a huge shame.

"Good." Her boss simply smile.

"Sir. Coffee?" she said as if she was something to offer.

"Yes, please," her boss said kindly.

And then she went to the coffee area there. While brewing coffee, she heard a rumor outside the room. Only now did she remember that she had an issue there but she still had the courage to come out.

"That's why she passed the interview right away," she heard in her surrounding.

"Well, if you used your beauty of course ," the other girl said.

"Take note, with the two bosses."

"You think just now, maybe Sir Ranz and that girl are separated."

"Exactly, hooking up with two boys."

"If I get the chance to flirt, of course it's Sir Daryl!"

She wanted to go out to confront them but she chose to stay away.

"But she has a strong courage to fool Sir Ranz, if that's me I'll stay being faithful."

"Well, cheater will always be a cheater."

"She's not a cheater, but a gold digger."

Bela can't no longer restrained her emotion and she went out of the coffee room. Both employees were surprised that she was there. Just as she came out, she saw Ranz walking towards them. Instead of confronting the two, she left straight away. Both of their eyes met, and she was annoyed by how she felt about it. She knew she was guilty but Ranz also had but he didn't seem to care about what was happening around him.

Little did she realized that her tears were already dripping. She's just a human being, she has a sense of what is being said to her. She was surprised when the lift opened and the rooftop opened up to her. What is happening to her? Even the coffee she brewed was left in coffee area. She still bravely offered coffee to her boss but failed to do it right. Instead of returning, she decided to stay there for a few minutes. Just what her boss said, to unwind. She sat down on the chair.

Just a moment later, someone sat next to her. She looked at it, it was Ranz.

"I'm sorry, I just found out everything now," his voice was serious and seems sincere.

"Sorry?" she said emphatically. "Now they're all talking about us!"

"I'm really sorry," Ranz repeated. He really felt so guilty and sad towards her. He wanted to tell her the reason why he leave Bela but he doesn't want  to because Bela will only blame herself if she will know the reason why.

On the day of his birthday a shocking event came to light. Ranz's fiance just committed suicide because she found out that Ranz introduced his girlfriend to the public even though he was already engaged to her. He admitted his guilt as to why that happened to his fiance and he will face the appropriate punishments that await him.

When he arrived at his fiance's house his parents were there as well as the parents of his late fiance.

"What have you done, son?" his father started. "Why did you announce to the public that you have a girlfriend?" his father added. Ranz was guilty but that does not mean that he is guilty of everything.

"I'm sorry to all of you, but I did that because I don't want to marry Selene," Ranz said.

"But Selene loves you so much!" the mother of her late fiance said while tears going down on her face.

"I know, but I don't love her."

"You didn't informed me about the game, yet you leave me there with my boss!" Anger was all over her voice. "All people here thinks that I'm flirty, that I hooked on both of you, that I'm a gold digger!" Bela tears flowed, that's the time Ranz hugged her tight.

"Don't worry, I've figured out a way for them to stop what they're doing." Bela still crying. "Let's have a real relationship, and I will handle the rest." She suddenly relieved herself to Ranz.

"What did you say?" Even though she heard what Ranz said.

"Let's date for real, then I'll handle the issue between you and Daryl." Her mouth fell open. That was impossible.

"That's not a good idea." That's all she said. But she was surprised by what Ranz said next.

"I like you Bela, I really do." She suddenly remembered her boss who also confessed to her. What's wrong with them? This question comes to her mind.

"I do like you too, but we're not meant for each other." She said that because of her arranged marriage with Daryl.

"If you like me too, then we were." Ranz kissed her again. She no longer object because she was still shocked by the circumstances.

For a moment, her phone rang. She answered it immediately because the person on the other line is none other than her boss. She looked around and her eye caught her boss who was standing as he watched them kissing. But her boss suddenly left when she noticed him.

After that, she move away with Ranz and hurried back to the office. She also didn’t catch up with her boss in the lift. But one thing is for sure, this will going to be a disaster.

When she got back to the office the window automatically went black. And those sharp eyes are staring at her.

"I'll explain Sir," she said catching her breath.

"Explain what? After I confessed my feelings to you, you're there hugging another man." Daryl felt being betrayed even if he's not. He just can't believed what he saw on the rooftop.

Bela couldn't understand the situation but all she knows is that her boss was angry with what she sees. But why is he angry? They don't have a relationship after all.

"I was out of my mind so I'll end up there and he followed me, that's all!" she explained even it's not necessary. Why is she even explaining this?

"Oh I see. Then what about the hug?" her boss interrogated.

"He tried to comfort me," she immediately replied.

"I don't want to see that scene anymore," her boss said irritated.

"Why? Are you jealous?" she said frankly.

"Yes," her boss admitted.

Her boss walks towards her.

"I have a solution to our problem," her boss said in a serious manner.

"What is that Sir."

"Let's have an intimate relationship. And about your issue with Ranz, let's announce that you two had broken up." Her eyes widened at its widest level.

"That's not a good idea Sir, they will also talk about us," she said. "I have a better one Sir," she continued. "I will going to resign Sir," she said having a strong courage and complacement.

"What?" her boss said emphatically. "You can't! I won't let you do that!"

"But that's the only way I know what is good for everyone Sir," she explained.

"No and that's final," her boss said firmly.
