"Aren't you excited for the dance Saturday night?" Cora asked as we exited the school the other day.
I averted my eyes to her taking in her excited state. She had already done her blonde hair in a curly state, obviously ready for the fun night planned that I sadly, will be missing.
"I wouldn't know. I won't be there," I said with no emotion whatsoever and continued to walk.
"Wait. But you promised you would go to this one," she pouted crossing her arms.
"Well, I don't know. My parents are sending me to New Jersey this weekend to stay until the NYPD has found the murderer," I explained bitterly accepting the fact the more I mentioned it.
"What? That's awful. What about me?" She gasped. "What about graduation?"
"Again, I have no idea. All I know is that I have to go. Dad's practically forcing me," I clicked my tongue against the roof of my mouth.
"Maybe they just want some alone time. If you know what I mean. Your dad's pretty irresistible. You're lucky he's married," she smirked devilishly.
"First of all, ew. Secondly, I think they've had enough 'alone time' because a few months from now, there will be a new member of the family. Psht, or members," I explained to her and she gasped again.
"OH MY GOD!!" She screamed over dramatically and jolting me along with our schoolmates close by.
"Aye, easy on the eardrums," I frowned with a small pout as I watched her jump up and down like a kid on Christmas day.
I seriously don't get why she's getting all excited...
"I don't know why I'm happy but I just am. What about you?" She asked curiously and I sighed telling her all that happened last night. "Oh," she hissed as we got to the parking lot.
"Well, is your 'mystery guy' taking you to the dance?" I changed the subject quickly.
She blushed. "I don't know. He hasn't talked to me yet. We had a fight some time ago," she said.
"Are you ever going to tell me who it is? Or is he just imaginary?" I asked, chuckling and she shook her head.
"Oh, no he's very much real," she assured me confidently and I shook my head laughing.
This girl.
I looked around and spotted my driver standing by the car in a black and white suit attire. "See you, love," I told her before she waved, left and I began jogging to the car.
"Debbie!"
I turned around immediately and was shocked to see Aaron jogging towards me in a white T-shirt with grey denim jeans, his brown hair sleekly brushed back.
"Hi?" I more likely asked stopping to turn to him.
"Hey. Sorry to interrupt you... but. I wanted to ask you something. I was wondering if you would go to the dance with me on Saturday? That is if you're going though," he asked sweetly and I stared at him flabbergasted.
Damn. Just to my luck that I won't be here.
I mentally face palmed myself.
"I would love to go with you but-"
"You don't like me. Oh totally understandable," he cut me off.
"No, I would but I won't be here," I informed him and he blushed probably embarrassed.
"Ok. Then maybe you'd consider going on a date with me Friday night?" He suggested and I stared at him gap-mouthed.
"Um. Okay. What time?"
"Why don't you give me your number and I'll text you?" He suggested grinning at me.
"Okay," I voiced out trying my best to keep back the blush, and gave him my phone after unlocking it. He put in his number and texted himself before handing it back to me.
"Ok, I'll text you later," he slightly smiled and I nodded before he ran off to his friends who were waiting for him.
Well, the world is starting to get weird.

"So what do you plan on doing after high school?" Aaron asked me as we sat in the diner eating macaroni and cheese with baked chicken.
"I want to be a wedding gown designer and a successful author," I answered sipping some orange juice. "How about you?"
"I was thinking of Engineering," he replied.
"Oh, you must be really smart then," I asked with a cheeky smile and he laughed nodding.
There was a moment of silence as I ate my food which was very delicious. I glanced up at him through my lashes to find him watching me and I squirmed uncomfortably.
"My my Debbie. You are one of the most beautiful girls I've ever laid eyes on," he said suddenly and I almost choked.
Those words sound very familiar.
"Thanks," I blushed. "You're pretty cute too."
No guy has ever said that to me. Well, my dad always said the most beautiful women he's ever met were, me, my mom, and his mom but coming from Aaron it's completely different.
"Am I pretty? Or am I cute?" He asked keeping up the conversation.
"Both," I blurted then mentally slapped myself as he laughed leaving me embarrassed.
For the rest of the dinner we talked about random things and he doesn't bring up the beautiful conversation until he pulled up at my house.
"So, I guess this is goodbye, I won't see you for a while," I told him smiling awkwardly as he stared at me with a smile too.
There was an awkward silence before.
"You know. I can't stop thinking about Monday night. The part in my car though," he blurted and I began to blush again. "Can I kiss you again?"
I almost sighed but suppressed it as I slowly nodded. We both leaned in until our lips connected again. It was slow and so sweet. His hands cupped my cheeks and intensified the kiss shocking me. A few seconds later, I pulled away panting heavily.
"Debbie, I know you don't know me and we've only been on one date. But I've known you for a while and I really like you. I know you'll be gone for a while so I don't want to miss this chance to ask you. Will you be my girlfriend?"
Is it me or did he just say the g-word?
I looked at him as if he'd grown two heads.
"Me?" I dumbly asked pointing at myself.
He chuckled.
"Yes Debbie"
I looked around us.
"Me?" I asked in a squeaky voice.
"I, Aaron Green, want you, Debbie Steele to be my girlfriend," he said slowly as if talking to a child.
"Thanks?" I asked not knowing what to say.
"Look, I understand if you don't like me. It's fine. I am going too fast an-"
"Yes," I cut him off. "Yes, I will be your girlfriend."
"Really?" He asked and I hesitated.
"Yeah, if you still want me to."
"Are you kidding?! Of course, I do?" He said excitedly like a happy child on Christmas. Then he grabbed my face and started kissing me all over it.
"Well, I have to go now," I said pointing to the door biting my bottom lips, trying to suppress a grin.
"Yeah, right," he replied before he gave one last soft long-lasting kiss and I got out before he left.
I entered the house blushing like crazy facing the door. I turned around and my belly did a summersault.
